Le bonheur sans modération. Sans limite de temps ou d'âge. Sublime et délicieux. Je souris et je pleure. Merci Purcell. Merci William et tous les autres.
Un grand cru pour Les Arts ! Il est vrai que la musique de Purcell , élégante , allègre et profonde a tout pour plaire ! Le Miserere mei est un moment sublime ! Merci pour ces minutes hors du temps !
There are moments when time stops -- when I won't breathe for fear of not hearing every last nuance. Thank you to Paul Agnew and the wonderful singers and instrumentalists of Les Arts Florissants. And always thanks to William Christie.

My applause from Normandie. It's a real New year present from Les Arts Florissants to me who love you to the Moon and back. Thanks and good luck in 2022.
Rejoice in this lovely music, and again I say rejoice! So to paraphrase. I definitely rejoiced at this gorgeous performance. I would offer my thanks in French, but I only know enough to embarrass myself. Therefore, I hope that there is someone in your organization who knows enough English to pass on my gratitude for the delightful offering of music. One other thing... I just LOVED seeing the figures marked in the organists part! That was a bit of fun for those of us who know what they mean.
@@mwnyc3976 Good to know. Thanks. Of the languages I learned, none of them are spoken (of the ones which are still spoken at all) anywhere other than a handful of First Nations reservations in North America. Pretty useless, especially when all but a small handful of the people who speak those languages also speak English fluently. Of those, only three of the ones which are no longer spoken have a written from, and only one of those can be written on a standard QWERTY keyboard. It was great for talking to my grandparents, but is pretty useless now.
Very beautiful - and that is just the roof in this magical building. A lovely performance as alway [sic] - one I will happily return to. Merci a tous pour cet beaute!
I searched for information on Iain Agnew, to whom this concert is dedicated. Not sure of his relationship to Paul (father?). At any rate, Iain was a very prominent actor.

Pas William cette fois-ci . C'est Paul ....excellent également....
Shame on me. Sorry, Paul, please forgive a baroque groupie's first love...

This transcends sorrows and joys of our transient lives less than 100 years

Not to worry: there are plenty of people at Les Arts Florissants who speak English -- not least its three conductors!

Excellent set of performances. May we know who the soloists were in "Rejoice in the Lord Alway" ?
Geoffroy Buffière, Nicholas Scott, (the other name its on my brain but he doesn't wan't to tell me!)
@@oedipuscoloneus190 Is the countertenor William Howard Shelton?
@@LeoCloma Yes. :)

Superbe concert. Il y aurait mieux valu qu'il fût tourné à Orléans...(le Purcell d'Orléans !!!) mais c'est somptueux!
