My Filipino friend told me there’s like a saying in the Ph. Like when a spoon drops then it means there’ll be a “girl” guest coming over if it’s a fork then it’s a guy. And that there were other details in the movie that once you know it you’ll definitely get creeped out by it.

Im a filipino and this is not just a folklore story. Its 100 percent real. We call them MAMBABARANG.
Its not Just mambabarang, mambabarang is a witch thy harm people.
Ungo can; eat-(flesh), drink-(blood), heal -(manambal) and harm-(mamarang) people.
Ungo can be anything thy can be anything thy want as long as thy can learn it.

I came down to the living room a few days and heard my dialect being shown in a netflix. It is so surreal watching your culture on the big screen.
I’m from also from Southern Cebu just like Diana. What I can tell you is that there are some people like her who have amazing supernatural gifts. We don’t call them witches here in Cebu. We just refer to them as people with gifts (mga taw na naay gahum). It’s a neutral word. They either use their gifts for good or evil.
Movie was ok but it was too short. I wished they made the movie 2 hours.
Her greed is what get cost her life.

just watched this movie earlier and when the spoon scene came on i immediately thought abiut the superstition of visitors coming (spoon = female, fork = male)
