I wanna make a Simic Hybrid Beast Barbarian. A failed experiment that fled and joins the wilds. The manta wings plus the beast forms make for insane exploration and the plus 1 to AC works well.
“You can choose a number of other willing creatures you can see...” That wouldn’t work on Unseen Servant. It also won’t work on yourself because it specifies “other” creatures.
Just created a 4th level Shifter (Beasthide) path of the beast barbarian. She’s themed after a Chimera (lol you could even make a manticore with this). Our first game just ended (as soon as this video dropped). It was amazing! My hp and temp hp and ac versatility with the race/subclass combo is beautiful! Two ways through class and race to boost both AC and heal!
I'd say that this is my favorite barbarian subclass. I held back on playing a barbarian because none of the other subclasses stood out to me. If i get a chance to play a barbarian, then I'll definitely pick this subclass.
Imagine a gentle barbarian that avoids raging but when you invoke his rage by hurting those he helps he'll unleash the beast (he's afraid of his temper since he barely can control it and doesn't want to hurt his freinds )
Since the claws are considered simple weapons, they are compatible with monk martial arts. So go kensai monk to improve those claws and yo can attack up to 5 times. With the claws becoming d10 weapons with plus 3 to hit and damage.
I've been wanting to make a werewolf character so I guess I can use this as a base there is some older stuff out there about a werewolf class but this is pretty convenient and seems pretty cool.
Call of the hunt, you can't do it on unseen servants, and can't do it on yourself, and in addition, all benefits end immediately when the rage ends. This means you can't just pre-buff a group before battle. Your rage ends if you don't attack or be attacked the next 6 seconds. This is a heat of the battle kind of situation.
Been in a game, previous character died so i made a lvl 10 beast barbarian, Gold Primal Dragonborn, borderline large build, dm lets me be considered large, And I LOVE This character, each rest and rage can be altered for the occasion, that and like you said nightmare fuel, we were fighting the 3 deadone's cult in a sewer.... full lizard man, climbing bite attack from the ceiling
I have a tiefling path of the beast barbarian. Its his infernal nature and his way of keeping it under control. His beast forms just make him more demonic looking. His bite gives him a demonic looking mouth. His claws are demon claws. His tail becomes a demonic looking tail. He has smoldering half plate armour. For theatrical looks when he rages his small horns grow larger, he seems to become larger, but doesn't. I just felt this was cool looking it changes nothing except rpg spice. He is actually a good guy and uses his demonic heritage to that extent. The party is a group of slaves under the control of a Dao Djinn master. He has been convinced that we can, if given some freedoms, to increase his power and the number of workers whether slaves or as we have talked him into it, indentured servants. We are all from different prime worlds or planes. We have 2 grabbed from Eborron, Dwarf and Elf. A Leonine from Theros. And A tiefling from the shadow fell. Brought together and placed on this world so they have no friends, family or allies. And do not know where they are. They had to give reasons why they were chosen for this venture. Most backgrounds came from either Homeworld or gained while enslaved. We were given a crude drawn map and told go this way and within 3 days you will come to a town. That is how the party started. Dwarf mark of warding warlock who serves his master and Patron (16 yrs a slave). A Valenar wild Elf Bard from a mercenary tribe (11 yrs). A Leonine fighter (10 yrs). And Tiefling barbarian (7 yrs). Every month they must try to get people to agree to indenture themselves to their master. The master will follow the deal made to the letter. (Deal-They are given a quota to meet and at the end of the time, normally 2 year food and board are taken off and every day they made quota they made money and if they don't, well, and if they still have money that's what they take home. If they still owe money they must stay until they have paid off the debt. As you can see its stacked in the evil Djinns favor, which is why he goes along with this idea in the first place.) And the party does this so they don't have to return to the Pitts and break rock for a living or fight as in gladiator combat pits for others enjoyment. And since this is not their world they don't really care about it, yet. What do you think? Good start
The Chaos Chosen Marauder, blessed with mutations by the Ruinous Powers. Too bad you can't two-weapon fight with the claws...cousin to the Chaos Favored Marauder; Wild Magic Barbarian. (Side note: when Wild Magic turns your greataxe into a Light Thrown weapon, can you temporarily dual wield it with a hand axe? Chaos says 'Of course')
Just a suggestion (even if you posted this video a while ago). Try to make the intros shorter (or put on the screen the time of the video where content starts). Otherwise, good video
Really? Let's do some maths x Great Sword at level 6: (2d6+4(str)+2(Rage))*2 = 26 Glaive at level 6: (1d10+3+2)*2+1d4+3+2 = 27.5 Claws at level 6: (1d6+4+2)*3 = 28.5 And that's not even taking into the argument to be made that claws qualify for TWF Of course if you factor in GWM then things get a little more murky,

One big advantage of having the natural weapons that become magical is that you have more room for other magic items Attune to.
It's wild you don't have more subs
Your stuff is so nicely organized and well done
I really like the idea of this class. I just feel you should get all 3 of the rage weapons together. Claws, bite and tail just works so well together

Once you hit level 6, your Barbarian might as well be the Xenomorph. 🤣

Laxelford wolverine character with retractable claws?
You should colab with "Offbeat Outlaw" and his op build series, or his new best . . . build series, found on his "worst subclass ever" video.
so the jump thing is it rounded up to the closest 5 cuz anynumber other then 5 would be weird on battle maps

Anyone else kind of bummed out that the lvl 3 and 6 features basically overlap with the Dhampir racial abilities by a ton?
I feel like the claws should scale up to four attacks otherwise it's an inferior damage option to just weapons.

Great Sword at level 6: (2d6+4(str)+2(Rage))*2 = 26
