Setters are beautiful dogs I had an English setter that was the love of my life only problem was his instinct to chase anything that moved was strong he lived to be 14 years old and it still brings me to tears missing him
worked with setters at thenderin kennels for 7 years. over 100 setters loved me because i loved them back. we also had about 10 to 20 other breeds but setters were the best. they were funny, soft, loving, and fun. lived with setters too. they were pretty easy to live with but so were me german shep/huskies. nice pictures. cute pup

They were bred to work in the field with a human where they need to problem solve and make independent decisions. As a result are highly intelligent independent thinkers who need to be trained differently from other breeds. Those people who think they’re dumb want blind obedience and don’t know how to train a dog smarter than they are.
They are a HPR gun dog breed, therefore need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. I’ve owned several of these dogs, they are highly intelligent and make excellent companions if looked after and trained properly. They can have a sensitive nature and respond best to positive re enforcement rather than harsh rebuke.

So adorable, I miss when my 1 year old setter, Ruby was a puppy, so innocent and cute and especially when she nibbled on your feet and fingers 🥺💕

No more updates, usually means the setter was too much to handle. I got mine at age 1 because she was too hyper....all setters are hyper.

Not true at all. It depends, piece by piece. I am a clever boy but very own in a character. Every dog has a different personality.
