NID has also been playing a significant role in promoting design.The Professional Education at NID has both Bachelors and Masters Programmes- Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) of 4 years duration for students after 10+2 or equivalent like AISSCE/ IB/ ISC, and Master of Design (M.Des.) of 2 ½ years duration for graduates from various domains specific to each discipline.
NID offers a wide spectrum of design domains while encouraging design projects. NID is a unique institution with many problem-solving capabilities, depths of intellect and a time-tested creative educational culture in promoting design competencies and setting standards of design education.

Gandhinagar Campus At the Gandhinagar campus of NID, hostel accommodation is provided to all out-station M. Des. students who are enrolled in programmes at Gandhinagar campus. Hostel accommodation for such M. Des. students at Gandhinagar is provided for the first four (4) semesters since the last (5th) semester of the M. Des. programme is expected to be spent in industry.
Basic design ‘studio’ courses are augmented by introductory studies in Science and Liberal Arts. This allows the students to develop a worldview, understanding of Indian milieu and the socio cultural context for Design to operate. The varied inputs over two semesters provide the necessary direction, stimuli, facilities and experience to foster creativity and thereby help each individual to discover their own identity and potential. The Foundation Programme is the basis on which the remaining design curriculum is built.
Master of Design (M.Des.)
PROJECTED NUMBER OF SEATS IN M.Des.: 275 (Includes reserved categories)
Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent including those who will be appearing for the qualifying examinations during the academic year (2020-21) in the areas mentioned against each discipline are eligible to apply. Successful candidates shall be given admission to the academic programme, by the institute, subject to their passing the qualifying examinations. The medium of instruction at NID is English.
NID Vijayawada
NID Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) An autonomous institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. As envisaged in the Government of India’s National Design Policy, Four new NIDs, the Vijayawada campus will begin functioning from the academic year 2020-21. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has allotted 30 acres of prime land in the Mangalagiri Town of Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh for Construction of the campus with the world-class infrastructure shall take about 2 years and till then the Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) has extended its kind support to provide a Transit campus to NID Vijayawada.
This 4 Year intensive professional Graduate Diploma in Design (GDPD) programme is offered in the following areas of specialization at the NID Vijayawada Campus.
Industrial Design / Communication Design / Textile & Apparel Design
Projected number of seats in GDPD: 60 (Includes reserved seats for SC,ST,PH,OBC as per Government of India norms)

Just a piece of advice. Try to showcase your spontaneity and creative thinking ability. It does not matter how many of your answers are "correct"... if your answers can trigger a new thought... u will secure your place in NID for sure. Imagination is more important than knowledge :)

Sir I am literally confused. I want to become an automobile designer but none of gover. Colleges provides it at bachelors level only in private colleges so pls show me a way that doing it from private is good or not.

what does sir mean by 30 40 60 90 in (35:44)? angles? if so and how can I measure the length with angles?
He means to say that if ever in exam it is asked to find out the angle of an figure just by looking at it you will be able to identify its angle because you've already practiced how to draw 30 40 60 90 angles freehand :)
