    I didnt know this existed until your videos. I have MS so this is a great hobby, especially for "bad" days. Instead of feeling like I don't have enough energy to accomplish anything, I can place some drills and feel like I got something done ❤

    I just found your video. I immediately “subscribed” to your channel because of your presentation. You were well spoken, fun to watch and informative. I just started DP about a week ago. I’m binging videos, picking TH-camrs I like to watch and absorbing all I can, like a sponge. Thank You so much for this video!

    Thank you for addressing accessory shopping as a hobby for the actual hobby! :) I have always been one of those people. If something has an accessory, you bet I will go shopping for accessories, it's so fun!

    Hi Chelsea. I started diamond painting last year (Jan 2022). Had heard about it in late 2021 but wasn't really interested at first. I got a kit for Christmas and decided to give it a go. Started out with the baggies then watched a ton of videos and started collecting other tools to make it easier (light pad, a couple of pens, containers etc). I use tictac-style containers (set of 64), lightweight, and the case takes up very little room. Love them. I also have a set like the first one you showed in the zip-up case (holds 60). Also, love those. They are both great for large projects. I've ordered a set of containers for a smaller project (under 30 colors) as I have several pending and I like to have a couple on the go so I can switch up. By the way, I am also a cat lady (got 2).🐱

    I have two tips related to storage. The first is that wiping down the container with a dryer sheet prior to kitting up helps reduce static. The inexpensive containers seem to hold static, especially if they were shrink-wrapped. Second, trading card binders work really well for organizing baggies of drills either for working a small project or for long term storage of extra drills. I look for the kind that zip closed. You can add dividers to identify projects/brands/shapes.

    It's a great video!
    A tip that I would recommend is reusing tic-tac containers after you finish them.

    I put two sets of the 25 containers that come in the harbor freight containers in one bigger harbor freight container. So I have 1 kit with 50 containers in it with room for more if needed. I got the idea from a TH-camr.

    I have finished a diamond painting in one day. It wasn't easy but I did it. It was a 30x40 canvas. It was during a storm during which I couldn't go out (obviously) so I decided to diamond paint. I started at around 10am next thing I knew the painting was finished.

    Ooh thank you for pointing out the EW clips being painful to open. I have HEDS, and my thumbs/fingers hyper extend and dislocate a lot. I was considering getting one of those organizers but since they are VERY expensive in Australia I'll stick to the nice soft foam zip packs with the screw top jars.

    My brother found these round and square containers at the dollar tree. You get 10 in a package for a dollar. They work great for when you have alot of one color like 310. I wish I could put a picture of them up here. They have a lid that don't pop off if dropped or knocked off you work area.

    I just purchased the zippered container. Before that I have used empty pill bottles, which I've saved for ages. StIll have my big picture drills in the pill bottles as I needed bigger bottles to hold larger amounts. They have served me well, but just wanted to try the zippered case where everything could be contained. Can travel with that.

    I have done my first 2 kits using the little med type boxes you held up at the end and don't really enjoy them. They are small and because they have 4 attached I don't feel like its secure. I have a small one of your top choice but it has only 15 bottles, so have not tried it yet as my kits have more colors. For my 3rd kit I am going to try out my 64 box of tic tac containers which you didn't mention. The only thing is they seem small. I am also saving for a bigger system in terms of container size and amount of boxes/bottles. When I go to buy it I am planning on getting either your 1st or 2nd choice.

    I also use the bags that come with kits to store leftover drills - and as a side note, the bags fit in those plastic sleeves for people who collect trading cards! So I have a binder full of pages of those holding leftover bags, just so they're not just sitting around loose where I'm liable to knock them onto the floor where my puppy could get ahold of them.

    I use the small Amazon containers. They are four across and hold two bags.If I need more space, more squares can be used. I work off a TV tray so need a small container.

    Here's something I wish Diamond Painters would talk about... What the heck to do with the drills 'after' a painting is finished. Because you're left with so many, and I've no idea how to store them or what to even do with them, and its not like you can put 2 'reds' in the same container, from two different kits, because they aren't the same red. Like, what do you do with the extra drills?

    • @DazzlingDanaOfficial
      @DazzlingDanaOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buy a zippered 3 ring binder, pages that hold baseball cards, and small zippered baggies. After you complete a project, remove the label from your drill container and put it on the baggie, or, write the info on the baggie. Pour your drills in the baggie, zip it shut, and put it in a pocket in the pages in the binder. You can organize by color, symbol, or DMC numbers.

    • @DandisDen
      @DandisDen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DazzlingDanaOfficial OKay. But what do you do with them after that? Do you just collect them, while they collect dust? Like telling me how to store them, doesn't tell me what to do with them after the painting is done.

    • @DazzlingDanaOfficial
      @DazzlingDanaOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't want to keep extras on hand in case you run out of a color, or don't need them for other crafts, there is no reason to store them and you can simply toss them if you are worried about dust. DAC kits come with distinctive labels, so it would be easy to separate that brand from others by transferring their label to the baggie.
