We've used as a family, Bible Study Fellowship for the last few years. Curriculum is available for 1-12, and adults. Its a daily lesson. Everyone is on the same text each day/week. Find a class in your area!
*CONFETTI!!!* Those Nest DVDs are basically an upgraded version of the purple VHS "Jesus tapes" (as we called them) I grew up with!! I still have them but wanted to find the same thing on DVD. I think my prayer has been answered! Hallelujah! Edit: I just looked and hoooooooooooo boy, you weren't kidding that they're not cheap! Ehh, I'm just happy they exist on DVD now.
We've been using Positive Action Bible Curriculum for the last four years, starting since 6th grade. I like them because they dig deep into scripture. The younger grades are lighter, but still make kids focus on behavior, how to treat others, etc.
I grew up watching Nest's Animated Stories from the Bible. To this day I cry on a lot of episodes because the spirit of the word of God just comes alive through those videos! Wish I had them all on DVD now, they're all Vhs! Want my kids to enjoy them also the new Superbook is really good. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the ideas, I will look into them! I like the idea of them doing their own devotional to get them in that habit of reading the Bible instead of mom always doing it! We also use Superbook, which is on DVD, and they love them as well! I never heard of the DVD you mentioned but I will check them out! Kids do learn better when they can see it for sure! Thanks! :-)
Erica! My babies are all grown so I'm not homeschooling but BRAVA for everything that you're doing for your family!!! God bless you and yours! Shalom xoxoxoxo
Erica I think these are great!!! I'm so excited about these books for little guys I'm passing these on to my daughter Thanks for sharing Your the best!!!
Hi Erica! Since the Word of Life devotionals are seven days and you only do a four day school week, how do you manage that? Do you double up or just pick and choose which days the kids do (i.e. skip Saturday and Sunday or Friday OR combine days such as do Sunday and Monday's devotional on Monday and do Thursday and Friday's devotional on Thursday)? Or do you have them complete their devotionals outside of the "school week" to reinforce the good habit and pattern of having a quiet time? Just wondering. Thank you kindly.
We just do four days of the devotional. We used to do them everyday but we got confused as to which day we were on LOL! I encourage them to do them even on non-school days as well.
We did try it, but it was hard for me to figure out. There wasn't a whole lot of Bible reading it it, it was more of coloring pages, which are awesome! But I did feel like I needed to supplement the pages with an actual study. Just my 2 cents tho!
BTW, what is the best way to correspond with you? I sent an email about 2 weeks ago. Please let me know at your convenience, and thank you in advance. Blessings! Lisa
I went to the link for the WOL daily devotional for 3rd and 4th grade and It was sold out for 2019- 2020 Do you know if they have one for 2021? are they dated and you need the one for the year? I really liked that one. please help
I love the Grapevine studies! We used a ton of them when our kids were younger and we did Bible as a group. Now that they're older they do independent devotions instead. I think they're great for younger kids though!
I haven't used it for Bible, however we used Rod and Staff English a few years ago. It was okay, but my kids didn't like having to write out their own worksheets each day. With the amount of whining that happened it just wasn't worth it to continue with it so we moved on to BJU Press and now IEW Fix It. They're all good programs though. I have my top English picks video on my channel as well if that's what you're looking for.
Can I assume that you teach your children all other religions, their strength and their critiques, as well as atheism, and let them make their own decision, same as you did?
Hi, our family is Christian, so my kids have grown up that way, but in the end they are free to choose what they wish to do. And yes, we do study other religions as well. They are well informed.

Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you Mrs. Arndt.
The Nest DVD link has been lost in transit! Id love to use your link if that gives you credit!
Hi! Sorry, I don't think I get any credit from them, so I would just go to nestlearning.com
Do you list bible as a class for your high school students?
It’s an elective
Thank you
when I click on the link for the bible devotions it says page not found
They must have changed their site, try this one: wolstore.org/collections/olympians-1
Where did you get the second book you shared? The devotional for 3rd grade
They're from wolstore.org/ Click on "Olympians" then find your grade.
Love this! Thank you!!!!!
Have you tried The Picture Smart Bible?
We did try it, but it was hard for me to figure out. There wasn't a whole lot of Bible reading it it, it was more of coloring pages, which are awesome! But I did feel like I needed to supplement the pages with an actual study. Just my 2 cents tho!
What Word of Life devotional are you using for your older kids? I have a 7th grader.
They use the one for Teens and Adults.
My Granddaughter is going to be 4 in July. What would you recommend. 😊❤️
I like this one for younger kiddos: Discoverer's Bible for Young Readers - amzn.to/2nMxp36
Erica Arndt ok I just ordered it thank You in a gift 🎁 and card. Amazon is absolutely great 👍
Erica Arndt Thank You so much

You can get all of their updated ones here: wolstore.org/collections/olympians-1
I cannot find the teen devotional on the Word of Life website! :o(
Is it no longer available??
They have a couple different ones: wolstore.org/collections/student-ministries
Is Devotion listed as an elective separate from bible?
It depends on the year, sometimes we do both devotions and a more formal bible study, some years we just do daily devotions. It's totally up to you :)
Where did you get the one-year daily devotional?
wolstore.org
Thank you!!
Why did you stop doing Grapevine studies?
I love the Grapevine studies! We used a ton of them when our kids were younger and we did Bible as a group. Now that they're older they do independent devotions instead. I think they're great for younger kids though!
just wondering, do you have any free shipping codes for the word of life site? thanks
I'm sorry, they don't do much in the way of discounts from what I've seen. They more sell to churches in bulk I believe.
thank you Erica for your reply!
Do you have any experience with Rod and Staff
I haven't used it for Bible, however we used Rod and Staff English a few years ago. It was okay, but my kids didn't like having to write out their own worksheets each day. What translations do the Nest dvds use?
I'm sorry, I'm not sure and I can't find the info on their website. I'd email the company and ask.
Ps. I love that shirt!

@@erica_arndt I think that's great.
hi you giz i love you somuch
and you and you kid
Anti-biblical!? Do you not give your children an unbiased education?
We are Christian and this is a BIBLE curriculum review, so I like to use curriculum that is inline with what the Bible teaches.
What is an unbiased education?
April Moore I'm sure you aren't dumb...was that a rhetorical question!? If it wasn't, find a dictionary 😀
