Next time you are in the States, you should try to make it to Helen, Georgia. It's a Bavarian themed mountain town. Slightly "touristy" but all sorts of German cuisine to choose from. Thanks for the Winter Field Day contact!
But the beer foam is missing on the first Erdinger. Thanks Stu for this food video. I am pretty sure this is dedicated to all your german pota friends. 73 de DO1EDK, Dirk
Since you said every sausage is a good sausage. Have you ever had Leberwurst or Blutwurst? (Liversausage, and blood sausage). They are often in a casing and usually simmered, you srape them out of the casing. It is usually served with sauerkraut and a potato side dish (potato salad, fried potatoes. Or mashed potatoes) it is served with a spicy mustard. I'm German and very much liked them. Nothing that is easily found in the USA. And the blood sausage in Germany is different from the British version, as it actually contains meat in it, and fillers. How did you like your sampling of the sides, I was hoping you would mention any. Also, most German food that is represented in the US, as well as the place you went to, is southern cuisine. Food up north is definitely different. Still good, just different.
I'm a some years older Bavarian. Oh no, Spätzle without sauce 🙈 Send me your QSL card 1 month before christmas and I'll send you Bavarian farmer's smoked sausages, and your turkey will live one year longer. 😊
Looking great! Making me want something to eat myself.
