Firefly - Even though the M4 was one of the most mass-produced tanks and upgraded repeatedly, it was when the 17 pdr was fitted that the Germans feared them. 4. Stug III - the ubiquitous Stug was actually a better tank killer, because it was cheap to make, small, mobile and best of all, crewed by Artillerymen - soldiers who were very accurate shots. The Hetzer was a cheap copy of the Romanian Mareșal tank destroyer, which was better. Once shown to Hitler, he ordered his manufacturers to come up with their own version. The M18 never really saw service with the 90mm, but the Jackson did. However, it was the combination of the 76mm gun and the surprise attack and withdrawal that made the Hellcat a really devilish opponent. It could ambush an opponent and be gone before they could return fire.

IMAO IS-2 and Pershing over King Tiger?Noooo!!!!! Pershing by the way was rival of Panther and Tiger II could easily pen 100m frontal turret of IS-2 from 2-3 kilometers.
was as a commander in a hetzer few times on a reen, and i can confirm that it is a really fucking small compartment, and even tho there were just 3 of us inside, it was hard to breathe
(Before watching entire vid) These were always my top fav tanks of WWII 1) M4a3 Sherman 76 (W) Speedy, decent armor, good gun etc 2) IS-2 Excellent gun, good armor Okayish speed 3) Panzer 4 Sexy gun, meh armor good speeds 4) Jagdpanther *great* gun, its very appealing to the eyes, sadly though major issues with technical parts or whatever you call em Decent speed. Great armor for its time 5) Churchill with the 152mm armor Now that thing is epic imo Great fckin armor Good gun Looks sexy Sadly it’s speeds are debatable (According to me anyway, what do I know?) These are just my favourites, not the absolute best tanks I still felt like sharing tho
I like all of these but I would trade the Panzer 4 out for the T-34-85. I think the IS-2 should be higher than the Sherman though because it was better at dealing with the german tanks while also being as fast as the T-34s with much more armor.
Kommandant Killcode As I said, this is my opinion. I prefer the Sherman simply because its fast has a decent gun and its armor is balanced, while not the best, it’s certainly not the worst. As for the Pz.4 vs T34 85, ehh i can understand why in some ways but if im not mistaken the T34 had lots of mechanical issues (Did the Panzer 4 have as much?) Idk, not angry or anything just sayin’ that the selected are my opinion
SonOfFudge The Panzer 4 has less issues but about the same amount of them broke down from engine trouble as the Sherman which is less than the T-34 but the T-34 has much more production numbers with a better cannon and better armor. It’s also faster than the Panzer 4.
Kommandant Killcode The armor for the Sherman is around 80mm, the T-34 has about 60mm so the Sherman has better armor and the guns are comparable with eachother
MBT-70 Tank The T-34-85 Has higher effective armor all around its hull. The turret is comparable since they are about the same. The main difference between the guns is penetration and explosive mass. They both had HE and APCR too. If I’m not mistaken, the Sherman had better APCR rounds because they had a denser core so they offered more penetration.
i probably spent 3 or 4 hours a week reading anything about ww2 on Wikipedia..and this video just add more on my knowledge on ww2 armored warfare..thanks bro..
I've seen an interview with an ex Pander veteran who said that he wasn't particularly frightened by the KV2 as it was so slow & it couldn't traverse it's heavy gun unless it was on level ground.
I love my Hellcats, I have heard some sources say 90k per hour but still 80k per hour is still very good for a tank of its time. Especially when it has a slight chance at coming up with a few MBT speeds.
Yeah the M18 hellcat still can outrun most modern day MBTs even though it's not a MBT but anything with any armor and a 76mm main gun that can run 60mph is a bad ass in my book
A history class about ww2 would be boring because you hear it over and over again and you actually forget what the teacher said, but this one i would sit down for a whole hour talking about tanks and knowing more about them.
Both KV tanks used the same V12 500hp Diesel And transmissions as the T34 tanks used there was some changes to the original Clutches on the drive sprockets to fully engage finally the KV 1 tanks had a issue with that throughout there production via design flaw
The problem with any top tanks list is that a lot of tanks don't really compare as they were built for different roles. The best tank probably depended greatly on where you were fighting at the time and what you were trying to do. E.G. a StugIII was great for defense, but for an advance a Panzer IV would be better.
Hi man! About the production of the Jagdtigers w/ 8.8. According to the book of Thomas L. Jentz, "Panzer Tracts No.9 Jagdpanzer"... by the end of the war there were 4 Jagdtigers using the 8.8cm PaK 43/L71 - Installed in April 1945.
Almost no allied gun could penetrate the jagdtigers front? Even something like the renown or Pennsylvania class would easily penetrate the Jagdtiger's front...and they are from WW1
@@frostthehos6512 yeah, you are right...but even a little boy or a fat man could destroy the jagdtiger, if they would hit it. Therefore the armour is SHIT
i think the stug III should have made the list because if the fact that it used the panzer 4 chasis and in production could be relatively easily converted into other vehicles such as the panzer 4, wirbelwind, ostwind, 8,8 flak carriers, and a few were used to house 150mm guns
My top 5 is the Churchill Crocodile, the Churchill Crocodile, Churchill Crocodile, the Crocodile variant of the Churchill and finally the Il-2 because that was just a tank on wings.
@@brandon-d10 8,553 Panzer IVs of all variants were produced. 5,774 Panzer IIIs were produced, but, including the StuG which used the Panzer III hull, in which 10,000 StuGs were produced, with some being existing Pz III chassis and others being freshly manufactured, we could assume anywhere from 10,000 - 15,000 Panzer III hulls, and in turn, Panzer IIIs were produced.
The best tanks are the ones that: -guaranteed it's crew decent work standards / it was reasonably comfortable, so T-34 isn't, but the M4 and Panther did; -was reliable / easy to repair, so Panther isn't, but the M4 and T-34 were; -were produced in sufficient numbers so the country using them could overwhelm the front with armour - again, not the Panther, but M4 and T-34 were. -it was used extensively, so it could earn this status - every tank, apart from these fucking stupid Mauses, King Tigers. I'd say that that best the best tanks of the war were Pz. IV, M4s and T-34 + Comet but this one was used for too short.
There was around 6000 panthers built, compare that to stugs, 9000-10000 depending on the source. So to say the panther was few in number is missleading.
1:05 I wouldn't classify the IS-7 as a WW2 tank tho, since _the design_ started in 1945 and the first prototype was built in 1946 I'd just classify it as a post war prototype
As a war thunder player I approve of this list. Also it's sad that you have to censor the symbols even though you use it a non hateful historical context.

When I played WoT, I loved my little 'Hetzer', as a fun TD to play, as a change from tier 8-10 games...
Author Zimmerman really needed that expressVPN, could have won WW1
Well otto did destroy shermans with the jadgtiger, one through a house
3 days later i see comments about:
Censoring swastikas (he did it so youtube does not demonetise the video)
Tank destroyer not being tanks
(Before watching entire vid)
These were always my top fav tanks of WWII
1) M4a3 Sherman 76 (W)
Speedy, decent armor, good gun etc
2) IS-2
Excellent gun, good armor
Okayish speed
3) Panzer 4
Sexy gun, meh armor good speeds
4) Jagdpanther
*great* gun, its very appealing to the eyes, sadly though major issues with technical parts or whatever you call em
Decent speed. Great armor for its time
5) Churchill with the 152mm armor
Now that thing is epic imo
Great fckin armor
Good gun
Looks sexy
Sadly it’s speeds are debatable
(According to me anyway, what do I know?)
These are just my favourites, not the absolute best tanks
I still felt like sharing tho
I like all of these but I would trade the Panzer 4 out for the T-34-85. I think the IS-2 should be higher than the Sherman though because it was better at dealing with the german tanks while also being as fast as the T-34s with much more armor.
Kommandant Killcode
As I said, this is my opinion.
I prefer the Sherman simply because its fast has a decent gun and its armor is balanced, while not the best, it’s certainly not the worst.
As for the Pz.4 vs T34 85, ehh i can understand why in some ways but if im not mistaken the T34 had lots of mechanical issues
(Did the Panzer 4 have as much?)
Idk, not angry or anything just sayin’ that the selected are my opinion
I couldn't possibly name my top 5 tanks, I didn't realize how many different tanks and variants existed. Thank you!

Well it's not. Tank destroyers are not tanks, they're tank destroyers. Just because it had tracks doesn't make it a tank.

Yeah. Wish my SU152 actually killed Panthers and Tigers on Warthunder.

WITiZO - it is. Pinnacle of Russian Engineering
When he was doing the battleship skit, I thought it was leading into him talking about the Tog II :(
That would’ve been pretty funny
Both KV tanks used the same V12 500hp Diesel And transmissions as the T34 tanks used there was some changes to the original Clutches on the drive sprockets to fully engage finally the KV 1 tanks had a issue with that throughout there production via design flaw
10:29 imagine walking behind that as it fired.
Highly entertaining and funny. This video is far better than any of the "serious" documentaries except for the Chieftan.

Thank you, it takes a lot of time and effort to make this videos
@@TheIronArmenianakaGIHaigs oh I couldn't imagine one time I tried to understand source flim maker... so many hours wasted
The problem with any top tanks list is that a lot of tanks don't really compare as they were built for different roles. The best tank probably depended greatly on where you were fighting at the time and what you were trying to do. E.G. a StugIII was great for defense, but for an advance a Panzer IV would be better.
"...and not one of the 6 man crew could save himself..." Probably because they were all on fire.
I've seen that source too but I know no other source about it.
I sill want to know more about it :)
@@TheIronArmenianakaGIHaigs So do I.
Almost no allied gun could penetrate the jagdtigers front? Even something like the renown or Pennsylvania class would easily penetrate the Jagdtiger's front...and they are from WW1
using a ship vs a tank is kind of over kill
@@frostthehos6512 yeah, you are right...but even a little boy or a fat man could destroy the jagdtiger, if they would hit it.
Therefore the armour is SHIT

Nice you included the clip where the 4 Jagdtigers were surrendered in my home town
i think the stug III should have made the list because if the fact that it used the panzer 4 chasis and in production could be relatively easily converted into other vehicles such as the panzer 4, wirbelwind, ostwind, 8,8 flak carriers, and a few were used to house 150mm guns
These video's I like and love for the information
There 2 personality of him
1:gamer/having fun mode

My top 5 is the Churchill Crocodile, the Churchill Crocodile, Churchill Crocodile, the Crocodile variant of the Churchill and finally the Il-2 because that was just a tank on wings.
......
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the Panzer 4 was the backbone for the germans, considering that the panzer 3 was outdated before kursk.
Panzer IVs were meant to be support elements to the Panzer III in the early stages of the war which led to fewer Pz IVs being made.
@@bluntcabbage6042 yes but as the war went on, Panzer 4s saw the front way more and became the backbone because of high velocity guns
The best tanks are the ones that:
-guaranteed it's crew decent work standards / it was reasonably comfortable, so T-34 isn't, but the M4 and Panther did;
-was reliable / easy to repair, so Panther isn't, but the M4 and T-34 were;
-were produced in sufficient numbers so the country using them could overwhelm the front with armour - again, not the Panther, but M4 and T-34 were.
@@antongrahn1499 Compared to Sherman's aprox. 50k and all T-34 variants 80k it is too few to overwhelm or even sustain armour front on itself.
@@Yaveton well, that goes for every german AFV.
