I am a 9w1 and I lean more on my 1 wing when I'm in work mode. I work as a housekeeper at a hotel and i love my job. I do agree that one reason why I love it is I can just put music in and zone out and get it done and I don't have to talk to customers I love working alone lol, I'm not a social person. But I lean more on my one when it comes to how the room needs to be cleaned and they all have to be consistent and look the same. And it drives me nuts when other housekeepers don't. I like my rooms to be perfect and clean. No cutting corners. It's been hard because my manager who taught me to clean and was very organized was let go and now we have a new one that isn't organized doesn't check people's work and doesn't care how it gets done as long as it looks done. Lol so it doesn't have the structure i loved before. As a 9 I love structure in my jobs and everything organized and everything has a way to be done and should be followed.

Hehe if you like reading books I recommend “The Maid” by Nita Prose. The main character reminds me of you 😊

i am exactly the same at work when it comes to keeping my workspace clean. i always need everything in the exact same spot and cleaned the same way when i finish my shift. i have trouble working in a space that is messy which is a thing i hated about my old manager because she would leave the placing looking like a bomb hit and then i'd come in and i wouldn't be able to function or know what or where to start because there would be shit everywhere.

Great new series Tom! I'm an 8 w 9 social countertype...while assertive I do sometimes find myself bogged down overanalyzing things; It certainly doesn't feel good. I appreciate the encouragement, daresay permission, from you to embrace my "eightness". As an 8 woman born in the 70's I certainly had my fair share of familial and societal pressures to act like a 2 all of the time. Learning about the enneagram from you and others has helped me let go of the guilt I unknowingly carried for not always acting like a 2!
I work with a 1 who really gets under my skin because I see her rule following as so inflexible that it's not fair and just to other people, which of course riles me up and brings out my bear. Forcing myself to watch videos about 1's to gain some possible insight into her motivations and behaviors so I can see her point of view and approach communication logically with her. I'm struggling with it though. I'll keep trying... Lol.
I enjoyed your other video on 2,3,4 types as well and am looking forward to the last triad video. Keep up the great work and thank you for posting these! ☺

I get you, I'm a 1 and hate working with 8s (they're too bossy for me), but I'm learning how to get along with them too. xx

If you're anything like my 2nd grader, I fucking love 8w9 (social countertypes) if I can ask, were you always helping people out, were you always trying to help the teacher and challenge the other challengers, and bantering for other people :p Let me know !

4:49 analysis paralysis is what I see in so many types in corporate spaces. It’s not just about my wants, I’m often championing someone else’s ideas it just needs to freaking happen already!!! and we can iterate as we go 🤦🏽‍♀️

Type 1 "The Strict Perfectionist" begins at 15:05. He says, "Type 2," but I think he meant Type 1.
