Wow! Thank you so much!! You saved me $700, DJI was telling me I needed to purchase the $700 new gimbal and that was all they could tell me. You are the man!
THANK YOU!!!! My Gimbal did the same dance like yours and refused to work. I followed your instructions and now it works like on the first day! High Five from Frankfurt Germany.
I used a product called loctite and I used the blue one. Yes it worked great! Tight enough to fix the hole, but does allow it to move again if it gets smashed.
If you showed that to an unsuspecting member of the public, I think you could convince them that terminators are real, lol. I'm glad you fixed your Phantom to some extent at least. I don't know why, but I don't like seeing these things damaged.
I noticed after numerous crashes that the gimbal axis had lost its solid seating in the press fit housing. I tried epoxy and it held for a while, but I realized it's just a matter time that it develops the shakes and jitters. The culprit is the plastic housing which will lose its integrity after several crashes. this affects the performance of the gimbal.
After my assessment of the internal components after I dissembled the machine, I can say with confidence that my camera gimbal axle was fine. All of the axles seem fine after the inspection. I even replaced the old ribbon cable with a new one. There appears to be no visible damage to the circuit board within the gimbal and camera. What I suspect the culprit might be is the circuitry within the chassis. The drone fell and smashed into the ground from about 15 feet high after colliding with a tree.
You may not see any damage. 2 units came into me that had no damage, only the camera turned on the shaft, and caused improper alignment that made the camera unsure of its home position.
Dougie Spendito The potentiometer was not in the wrong position. The flat surface was facing upwards which as indicated by many sources is level with the horizon.
My gimbal is only slightly off centre and I can't seem to turn the censor thing to get it level. How much pressure do you need to use on it because I don't want to use too much and break it

good evening I am having the same problem , the axles are in the correct position already dismantled over 20 times and there's no way ... the camera connects everything is normal .... but the gimbal this loko ... how can I fix algem can help me. .. sorry my English 'm from Brazil
+Dougie Spendito My gimbal shakes like crazy after a crash which broke the flat cable. I´ve now replaced the cable and now the shaking has started. Do you think it´s possible that one of the potentiometers can be like 360 degrees wrong?
Hello! I had the same problem as you with my phantom 2 vision plus and I did exactly what you did, it worked! The camera was level again! But after the next flight I had the same problem. I tried to fix it again like you did and the camera was level again. But after the next problem the problem was back. Do I really need to do this after every flight? ... Thanks :-)

You're welcome. Ya they are not much help.

Exactly what I was thinking! Thanks for sharing!
Hi, the loctite where did you aply it?

Interesting. I just looked at my phantom 2 plus V3.0 and that pin now goes into a steel round insert and not the plastic case anymore. Nice vid.

However to potentiometer may have been damaged on yours and needs replacement. Make sure the shaft is in the correct position.

Did you use the glue to fix oblong shaft hole? Did it work?

Cool. I glued mine with epoxy and it worked good also. I recommend a physical gimbal guard (check ebay) so the ribbon wire doesn't tear if you crash.
thank you this was a great help, i fixed it with your help
good evening

Yep likely bent it when I crashed it. Unscrew and bend back.

You don't have to take all that apart...just pull the camera off the gimble, turn it 45° and put it back on. Then do an auto gimble reset.
Estoy teniendo el mismo problema que tenía todos los ejes son correctos , pero aún no hay manera
Can you please make one on how to install the cable ribbon?

Helpful however I've already re placed the camera and gimbal with another one. DMG taken =$670.00
I have done this over and over but it still won't work, what should I do?
The camera twitching looks like a fish on land lol ; )
