      Disappointing for an incredible lecture. Had no idea how much WWI had determined the current world until listening to this guy.

      I thought the same thing until I realized Mr Neiberg has given this essential presentation on several occasions at different venues which I watched on TH-cam. Probably most of the audience is familiar with this and no new ground was covered here. Hence , , , , ,

    Great lecture. However, around 17:00 he mentions the first income tax and the Fed as coming in to deal with the flood of european money during the war; the war didn't start until 1914, while the income tax and Fed both passed in 1913. The Fed's creation dates specifically to 1907, while the income tax had been a long-running goal of the progressive movement going back decades.
    Neither policy had anything to do with the war.
