Noticed they had different closing wheels on there would be interested in which one works out the best. Probably the biggest reason for having the boxes is that this planter is paid for and a little hard work never hurt anyone. Great video!!
As a kid we had a 4 row planter,4 row cultivator and a 22 hp tractor. Took days to get ready to plant and then almost as long to get seed in the ground. Thank you farmers great job.
Nice planting team. Watch several ways to fill a planter while filming I would say boxes can be fastest if you move along ad pour out the bags in the boxes. Some times it take a couple of minutes to get the central lined up just right to fill.
Our db90 has central fill and is setup for 20inch spacing. We will plant soybeans and corn with it . Our main reason for buying it was to speed up planting when we plant double crop soybeans. Ours has hydraulic down force with pneumatic row cleaners its setup for high speed as well . We have our challenger mt 855 setup for pulling it .
WOW awesome video. I haven’t seen many DB90s with the seed boxes. The only place we see planters that big in our part of Illinois is in what we call the Hull bottoms. My 79 year old grandfather still runs marker arms with his GPS on a 12 row planter. He says he doesn’t trust technology and never will.
The front box is for the seed, the back box is for granular herbicide. Liquid fertilizer is injected into the ground via tanks on the planter’s frame, but those are not present here.
we also suppose to walk everywhere we go and not use fancy machines with wheels and engines, so please sell your car and start walking places. it's wasn't uncommon in the "supposed to" days to make a several weeks trip by foot to visit some relatives. good luck sir
WOW that's a great video Mike. That's got to take a lot of getting used to pulling something that wide if you never done it before lol I guess production is the name of the game right lol God bless America lol great job as usual
But simplicity never fails love the simplicity of the planter but one thing mist be a bit of a pain having the right amount seed in the boxes when running it empt
Hey Mike, how did you like driving the Big Bud, on Walkers farms. This is a cool video. It’s amazing how big farm equipment has gotten these days. 🚜🚜🚜🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Divernon, Illinois sorry I dont have his number so you can call. Should be able to look up Dowson farms to get more info or get in contact with Sloan Implement in Assumption, Illinois
Mike, do they continue to plant seed as the intersect with the waterways? I know it's a dumb question but it would seem to me there is a lot of wasted seed going into the waterways. But if it can be harvested then I guess it all makes sense.
Vanila Kung assuming it’s 2 bushel boxes, each box holds 2 bags of seed roughly. Assuming each bag of corn plants roughly 2.2 acres of corn, 4.4 acres per row x 36 rows is over 150 acres per fill. I would guess that’s at least 3-4 hours if he’s in a big field really pushing it.
Mike, the shot where you had the camera on the ground made me so nervous. I was expecting it to be the drone and it fly up right before the tractor got to it, I never expected that it'd get ran over by the seeder. Just in the right spot. keep up the good work, I hope you get that DB120 footage sooner rather than later!
I guess you didn't listen to the video. The have GPS/RTK and was using the markers as this was the first field of the year. Its pretty common to use markers to line out the field but he was still using them to make sure everything was still on the money.
This planting rig is really amazing, a very nice find!!!
Thank you for this, Mike!

Us, too. But it got done each year and my Dad loved doing it.
That's a massive planter! Nice video Mike.
Nice video just enough to explain and then the sound of the tractor doing its job.no music to ruin the sounds of horse power.
Nice planting team. Watch several ways to fill a planter while filming I would say boxes can be fastest if you move along ad pour out the bags in the boxes. Some times it take a couple of minutes to get the central lined up just right to fill.
I find it truly amazing how much torque those marker arms can withstand with how scrawny they look :) nice video
I was thinking the same! I see how much it's flexing
no trash helps too

Wow! 36 rows of corn per pass. Now that's a hell of a garden eh. Thanks Mike interesting, thank you for the video.

Filling 36 boxes individually? Lot of work. Nice video.
Yeah crazy. They should've just used one of those planters with the seed trailer and hoses running out that follows behind.
Kandi Klover those are seeders not planters those are for wheat and such

@@ellisdowell5596 I’ve seen corn planters set up like that. I think it’s an aftermarket modification
Nice outfit! It would take a lot of seed corn to fill up!
Watching people plant from the drone view is pleasing to someone with OCD :) all those nice nice straight lines
Great work filming it below tractor, some nice footage there!
Another advantage to individual boxes is if the farmer wants to plant different hybrid or number corn. Double cross.
And they did fill the planter with 3 different varieties 12,12 and 12
Surprised that you are dry enough to plant. Best wishes for a great harvest.
Great video! And that planter can cover alot of acres. Rather quickly..
enjoy your videos mike keep em coming
I really like this video because there is no auto steer, they are actually following a row marker. That's the way it is supposed to be done
Obviously you didn't listen to video. He in fact does have GPS on the tractor. RTK
😂😂 listen

Awesome. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
There is a farm north east of Perry Iowa that is running a db 120 on a John Deere RX tractor not sure the of the size but it's quite a sight .
Fantastic video nice kit 👍 👍
Awesome Planter! 😲💪👍
Simplicity and back to the "good ol days" but on a much higher scale lol
Great footage!

Very very nice mike

I guess its safe to say the ole Farmall M is not going to yank this one through the field
Thanks for the great video
Great video!!!
Great video, I wonder how many acres can this planter do in one day ? And how much a planter like this would cost???
Awesome video 🚜🚜🌽🌽👍👍
땡큐"Thank you so much~~super great!!!!~Fighting

I still plant with my little 4 row 7000 Deere lol
Would like to see inside the tractor. Maybe in another vid?
great footage bud.
Makes my 7000 look small!
Nice graphics, is this the new Farm Simulator ?
Brave man with the go pro....
375 horsepower pulling it too!
Another awesome video!!!
How long can he work between two refills?
Nice photography at 6:00
Big Boss Planter doing it's thing .
Mike please get in contact with Chris Dowson they have two DB 120 planters they use to plant beans with.
Where are they located.
Divernon, Illinois sorry I dont have his number so you can call. Should be able to look up Dowson farms to get more info or get in contact with Sloan Implement in Assumption, Illinois
Amazing machine to do the best job
this is straight heat
So Beautiful smart farming
Great vid mike 1👍
DB 90 without CCS didn't know that even existed bet it sucks to fill up
Why are there 2 boxes, front & back Mike?
Mike, do they continue to plant seed as the intersect with the waterways? I know it's a dumb question but it would seem to me there is a lot of wasted seed going into the waterways. But if it can be harvested then I guess it all makes sense.
How many acres dose this farm
I'm very surprised that they don't use a central seed unit, that takes allot of time filling.
You use what you have in the shed....
Especially with bags.
I want to know how much the corn in US ?
Haha, you make nice video with camera under the tractor at 6 minutes.
Did he plant right thru the roadway?
I know these guys.. good people..
How many acres can they cover before having to refill all those units? Also do they have automatic show shut off?
How long can you seed between filling it up? xx minutes? Great stuff as always

@@0731bart 3-4 Hours, no way
what a moster
We're from SW Michigan and our land hit and miss
How close are the rows together?
30 inches
We have a 1775nt 24 row fully electric high speed and that thing is just as efficient if not more than this
Wonder why it's expensive to farm now!
Excellent
36 rows wow😀

Lot of confidence the planter was going to split the marker row. Nice work.
That’s a lot of seed boxes 😳
Are those narrow rows? I couldn’t hear
30 inch rows
👍👍👍👍
i dont mean this in a bad way but dang there is a lot to watch there i am doing great with just 24 feet tools
I would hate to run this set up on a 10 acre field 😂😂
Frankie 431 - 1 pass and it's done !
👏🏼🇧🇷🚜.
Box hell
7.70 soybeans x 50 bu x 1700 acres= 650,000 gross to pay for these chunks of iron....Sinking ship, plain and simple...
$650.000 that's if you buy a brand new planter this one here is only around 70k to 80k it's 12 years old.
Well this same tractor and planter also planted when the market prices were at their high. Crop still have to go in the ground every spring.
I worked for a guy in IA who had 2 DB120s that's how i know about that stuff
Yo, I like the videos.....I am a realist that is no stranger to the rain.....Just here in wet Missouri singing those blues..
Guess row is off.
Ef god bless can give one
Screw that
mechanical GPS
Entirely too big for me
Why is he using the markers??cant afford GPS after pays for the outfit
