Questions: 1. If the ceremonial law of Atonement was nailed to the cross by Jesus, why was it used again by Jesus and the Millerite's, to establish that the day of Atonement had started on October 22, 1844? 2. How can that ordinance be taken off the cross and then used again in 1844 without violating its permanent abolishment status by Christ?
To both questions this is why the prophecy did not work out because at the time, that is 1844, these were Bible students and the church had not been established as the doctrines were far from being organised. Remember the Adventists then were members from various churches who were united by the doctrine of the Coming of Jesus, which they had not understood clearly.
