We would like to thank Richard Costello for sharing his story with us and for taking time out of his day to break down his traumatic events which we understand is extremely triggering to recount. Like Richard there are others who have also suffered from lariam that have not yet had a platform. We hope Richards story inspires others to come foreward. We are here to get your voice heard!
I was told if I didn't take Lariam I was not going overseas, For close to a year I took it for my two overseas trips , I was medically boarded with not as much as a "Thanks for your service" after 11 years in the Defences Forces, My life has been ruined ever since and I don't even know where to start to fix it. To anyone watching this NEVER take it.

I know every word you said is true and factual .I was in Rwanda in 1994 and i took Lariam a few weeks before and the trip .I had the same effects .Anger and rage outbursts nightmares self isolation drinking alcoholically Depression suicidal thoughts .Im still to this day living with effects of Lariam .Thanks Richard.
So sorry to hear of your experience with this drug. I was unfamiliar with this med, so I just researched it. Chloroquine was used for years as an anti malarial, with very few side effects. So glad to see you gaining control of your life, now. God bless.

Well said
This Larium is poison. The Irish government, the commissioned officers and the PDF general staff do not care about enlisted men.
