You look stunning in all of your outfits, while all of the other tourists seem to be schlepping around in what we mortals would usually wear sightseeing. 😅 Thank you for sharing the amazing sites you visited! ❤️
Silk is great for travel, it has hardly any bulk or weight, is breathable, lightweight and super-comfy, and any packing creases fall out after spraying with warm water and hanging dry. I travel with an 8-oz., empty spray bottle, the smallest that comes with an easy trigger handle (I don’t recommend the finger-pump kind, too tiring to use for clothes). I bring a skirt hanger and two velvet ones and spritz any wrinkles with hot tap water the night before I want to wear the items. Silk is quite wrinkle-resistant, washes easily and dries super-fast, too. I can’t wear it on the hottest or very humid days, though, but unlike most British, I don’t travel in the summer heat, I prefer spring or autumn. I have the Goelia dotted silk skirt and matching shirt with tie, love them as separates or together as a dress look. A matching silk top and skirt set is my favorite thing to wear! My tip: wash matching items together every time, or the most-washed piece, usually the top, will fade differentially and no longer match the other.
This is a great tip; I'm traveling to Alaska and I have a silk skirt for my formal night and we are not allowed to bring steamers or irons, so I was wondering how to avoid wrinkles.
@@KarenAidi Try packing it in dry cleaner plastic film. Works like a charm to prevent wrinkles.

❤🇬🇷, but who doesn’t? Such a beautiful and historic country, and the world’s single-most influential ancient culture. Being half-Greek only adds to my fascination with this, my father’s native country. He came to San Francisco for university in his early twenties, and is still the head of the family here, at age 94! We just celebrated his amazing birthday yesterday. He eats the Mediterranean diet, is slim, healthy and fit, brilliant as ever, and with no medicines needed! Amazing. Also ❤your channel, Deirdre.

You always look so chic in all your outfits - thats not easy to do, when Im on holiday sightseeing in shorts I just cant seem to pull off the chic look, but youve given me some hope and inspiration! X
WWDD? That is what I've been asking myself for the past year, ever since I found my friend D! What Would Deirdre Do? Every time I shop for clothing, I ask myself, "WWDD?" Every time I put together an outfit to wear in public, I ask myself, "WWDD?" Even when I'm planning on lounging around the house, I say, "what would Deirdre pick out for today?" I know, it sounds like I'm obsessed, and I AM! THIS WOMAN CHANGED MY LIFE LAST YEAR!!! She knows, I've told her many times how much she's changed me, helped me break out of my shell, expand my horizons, and, of course, dig through my own closet to find hidden treasures to wear again!
I am a new woman, at 56 years old! I am no longer trapped in sweatpants and Tshirts! You would not believe how much I've changed, just by changing my wardrobe. I had plenty to start with...30 years of clothes! Then I took D's advise of wearing WHITE, and THAT REALLY CHANGED ME! I was always wearing dark colors. Why? Because they can be cleaned.
I was SCARED of wearing white! What if I got a spot on it?!?! Guess what? IT'S LIBERATING TO TAKE CHANCES!!!
Yes, I got a spot on one of my very first white tank tops. I LAUGHED! I still wear it, with the spot to REMIND ME to take chances!
Life is short, and getting shorter for most of us. WEAR WHITE, or WHAT EVER COLOR YOU WANT!
Wear your BEST stuff, quit saving it for 'special occasions' Today is a special occasion.
Deirdre taught me to live again, all by starting with my clothes, which lead to a new attitude and a new outlook on my life.

Same for me, I always wear shirts and dresses with with long sleeves made from linnen or cotton. It's a game changer and does not only protect from the sun but also keeps you cool.

Yes you nailed it! I live in Sicily, and on seeing the tourists often wonder if their (holiday) home features a mirror. Capri pants with tunics; leggings with T-shirts; oh no no no. Shorts or long trousers please! And if in white, size up. For stain removal on the go, I use hydrogen peroxide - magic. It is also a disinfectant. 100 ml will go a long way
Ha ha! Unfortunately, almost everyone ihere n North America seems to dress like that these days. Polyester tunics everywhere. And ugly shoes.

Hi Deidre, I really enjoy your channel. Generally way out of my price range , but what I do is look around for less expensive, not cheap, options.
This was another exceptional video on how to look chic and fresh while touring. Too often you see Americans with huge bags attached to them , they look like pack mules. I’m not sure how my feet would stand up to those little sandals though. I do hope to go to Greece and will think of this video as I pack my bags.

Love your looks! Really appreciate following a fashion influencer that is larger chested. I am so self conscious of my top are right now - have always been larger chested but have just started menopause and really battling some weight gain - and I gain it in my chest too. But you are rocking every outfit in this video! Was on the fence as to buying white pants for my upcoming river cruise but I appreciate you mentioning changing into them for dinner. I wouldn’t want to wear them all day because of getting them dirty.

Outfit 6 orange maxi skirt looks lovely prob with a gold top the white vest top I think does not look good or again denim jacket 😮
I love this video! I went to Greece last September and struggled with what to pack, and, of course it was still very warm. I normally shy away from orange, but I do love how it popped against the sandstone there. And, of course, those Goelia pieces are goregous and very chic.
For sightseeing in the Acropolis, I wore navy blue bermuda-length shorts from Chicos (moisure wicking and very comfortable) and a beautiful cotton tank top (in navy blue, white, robin's egg blue) also from Chicos, my comfortable Teva walking sandals with great arch support and traction, and a wide-frim hat. In the morning, I wore a white lightweight linen jacket over the tank top, and a cross body bag. In hindsight, I would not take the crossbody bag as it was it too heavy and black. I would opt for something lighter in color and weight and maybe use the bright orange there as an accent color.
Keep these wonderful travel videos, what to wear, and what to pack coming. As we are a retired couple, we are constantly traveling and on the go.

Wonderful video and you have lovely style. Very timely video as I will be going to Greece in October. I have never been to Greece, but have made a number of trips to various regions in Italy. I don't over pack and do a lot of "mixing and matching" neutrals and do layering too with a light jacket and/or sweater. Can't wait to visit Athens as well as other areas in Greece including the Island of Crete. I live in the US.

I absolutely had to write you today Deirdre because all of this video was Incredibly Reminiscent of our recent trip to Greece in August of 2023. We were in Greece for three weeks and Enjoyed it so much. We walked those same steps in Athens. That scene you showed with the old church in the background with the big H and M store right across the street. You didn’t point out the Metro station but you showed it in one scene in the background. We stayed in a lovely hotel with a view of the Acropolis in the distance. We loved shopping in the marketplace with all the stalls covered over. It did rain one day while we were at the market and it leaked a little but we were almost dry.
Like I said I just had to write you to say Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories.

There is an anthropogenic “urban heat island” in Athens, on top of the hot, dry Mediterranean climate, so be sure to pack extra-cool clothing like linen dresses. Love your travel wardrobe, Deirdre, May is a great time for visiting Greece, hot but often not unbearably so.

Enjoy your vlogs - but this vlog is not the way I travel. Every outer layer has to match with each other - so stick to neutrals - 3 long sleeved tops, 2 bottoms, cardigan, pashmina, 2 bras, 3 pr knickers, 3 pr socks, make up/ washbag/face creams (all in tiny pots), T shirt for sleeping, Nice looking trainers, one pr flip flops, cricket hat.
Job done - it weighs about 6 kilos and goes in cabin luggage.
Didn’t your feet hurt whilst sightseeing in sandals ? I always have to wear trainers as we do so much walking my feet would be would be covered in blisters after the first day if I wore sandals

The athens outfit at parthenon you look like playboy model, need darker looser tops.
