Enjoyed this interview with Tony! Regarding Arturo's flugel sound - I was in Flip Oakes workshop when Arturo was there, and he found an experiment Flip had done with flugel mpc. Arturo loved it and wanted to keep it! Flip couldn't let him have the experiment, so he took one of his WT mpcs and cut it on his lathe to match. Arturo took it to his gig in San Diego that night and we all witnessed the debut of that sound. At that moment Flip's Extreme Flugel was born, and it went into production the next day. Basically a taper into a 1/4" hole, no cup.
