When I think about these social issues like dowry, I cannot help but think that Britishers should have ruled us a little longer, because if they did, I am absolutely sure they would’ve abolished dowry.

Dowry itself is a foreign term, it's an arabic term. You won't find any word for Dowry in proper Hindi Language and also in the West dowry culture is there. In Sanatan Dharma there is no word like dowry and divorce. Agar humare log humare holy scriptures ko padhte to unko pata chalta ki yeh humari sanskriti nahi hai aur shadi ke waqt ladki ko jo gehne aur paise uske maa baap dete hain uspe sirf aur sirf ladki ka haq hota hai na hi ske pati ka na kisi aur ka aur puraane mane mein aur Indus Valley Civilization tak log isko mante the. Invaders aaye aur unhone humari sanskriti mein zeher ghol diya. Aaj ki date mein hum log v bohat saare aise kaam karte hain humari daily life mein jo ki Islamic habits hain aur hume pata v nahi hai.
Ok we won't ask dowry and same goes to women if any issues happened between the bride and groom after marriage if they decided to divorce then at that time women should also not ask for maintenance she should stand on there own feet

Just for this one problem you are forgetting millions of atrocious act they forced upon us. If you are a teacher I pity your students.
