To keep your plants from leaning over you can try turning them every so often. They usually lean towards the direction of the light
Jamie living dangerously returning back to Sherpa's castle without a chicken feast, there will be repercussions 🐕👑
😂😂 I'll be in trouble
@@SherpasDayYou ready for Easter
😂😂
How beautiful the plants look in their new homes. I love how Jamie takes care of all living beings. 😀😘🐕🌱🪴❤❤❤❤
Now that is what the summerhouse is for Jamie, put in a nice big workbench and use that to repot your plants, keep the mess outside the house 😉
🥰🥰🥰🥰🙋🏼♀️
Yea I definitely need a good bench for in there
Sherpa is exhausted from supervising Jamie!!! 💜💜💜💜
I laugh when Sherpa just looks at you as if you've gone daft. 😂
He's used to it by now 😂
Jamie the plants you repotted are definitely indoor plants. They are tropical and would not survive in your climate ! Love going shopping with you and seeing Sherpa hard at work ! 😊 Bless him indeed ! ❤ You as well Jamie !! ❤
Ah lovely ill keep them indoors then 😊
@@SherpasDay, they can be outside when it's warm. I had several huge tropical plants that lived well over 20 years and they went outside in warm weather and in for the winter. When I say huge, my tangerine tree was over six feet. This is in Missouri.
@@SherpasDay I would have put them in even bigger pots, the second one is what we call in Canada rootbound
They get bigger and bigger and finally talk back to you. If they say their name is Audrey, run.
Lovely gardening tutorial. With guest star Sherpa.
Sherpa: I taught him everything he knows.
Haha thankyou 😂
Okay Jamie, Jamer, Jamison (yes you need the three name 😂), next time (or if you want to redo these, you need to break up the root ball some. When the roots are all wrapped around and have taken the shape of the pot, it means that they needed repotted a long while ago. The compost may be okay. Some can “burn” the plant because of the pH levels, but if you’ve used it with these plants before you should be okay. I used to work at a garden center and as a gardener. Part of my job was repotting plants. You could have easily gone up another pot size and it would have been fine. Might have worked better for the plant that is leaning. By pulling apart the root ball, you could have shifted where and hot it sat in the pot to straighten it up. Please don’t think I’m having a go at you. Everything I’m saying is meant to be heard with a gentle voice and kindness. Just want our plant buddies to thrive as much as our Sherpie. Hope that helps. Please feel free to ask any questions. If I have the answers you’re welcome to them. If I don’t know, I can usually find out. Keep up the great work and the birds got food! Yay!
I'm a fan of peat moss too for indoor potted plants.
Yes, I agree. Go up to two times bigger when root bound and they should be good for two or three years. They will thrive better with more extra space and roots can spread out better.
Might have to start calling you a pot head Jamie 🙈🤣
😂😂
😅😅👏👏
😅😅👏👏
That hysterical! Pot head! 😂😂
😂😂😂
The beautiful Sherpa supervising Dad. When you let him out, he looked at you like he was wondering what took so long. Love the repotting of the plants.💜💜💜
😂😂 always judging me
Hi Jamie and Sherpa. Do you read the comments later on? I was reading yesterday's last night and I got all choked up inside. Brought me to tears how loved Sherpa is. I hope his wee sweet voice is better. Love him so!❤
Aw no ill have a look later on 😊😊😊
You should have used house plant compost and put crocks or small pebbles at the bottom of the pots for drainage or your plants will become water logged. You Can’t put those plants outside when they get bigger.they are indoor plants only!
I was thinking about teasing the wrapped roots a bit but as Jamie says, live and learn. Perhaps a search of the internet would help Jamie get some tips for caring for indoor plants. The soil definitely looked stodgy for an indoor plant.
the pots have holes which will allow any excess water to go down into the tray the pot sits in.. if water appears there, a good indication to hold off watering for a bit..
Also you could have used the clay pots. They were big enough. Put rocks in the bottom for drainage. Just a thought. What you did is nice as well.
Oooh yes..
😊👍
Clay pots are porous and allow some air to the roots so they don’t get waterlogged and rotting 😮
Put water in the saucer and let the roots soak up the water.
All the plants needs root trimming. They are looking a bit unhealthy(droopy leaves) because the roots are over grown. They are mostly indoor plants. They need watering 2/3 times in a week. You can also keep them just in water with a bit of pebbles, (like flowers in a vase)and they will do fine. The plants make your house look so much better👍🏽. Clip the excess roots and repot. Don't worry they won't die. At first they will look a bit sad but, they will survive.
Currently, every day in Jamie and Sherpa's life is an exhausting and busy day.
But every day has its meaning and we see again how Sherpa sends Dad to make his house even prettier.
And I have to say, the plants look absolutely amazing and that means spring has officially arrived.
I assume that after Dad set up the planted pots, Sherp used his decorative charm to put them in the right places.😜
What else can I say other than absolutely wonderful.
After this day, you definitely deserve the good time with the fire in the evening.🥰
Great video
Have a great day buddy and see you soon👊💙
Haha it really is isn't it 😂😂, need to book a holiday lol
Busy day huh Jamie, if I was with you, me and you could work together as a team friends are always there for each other.
That would be handy Peter 😊
What a lovely message Peter, you're so kind ❤
Just came to see how Sherpa’s voice is coming along. Poor guy !
A fire on a foggy day with your sweet dog by your side. Sounds lovely
😊
Enjoyable video, thank you Jamie! Blessings to you and Sherpa!!!❤😊
❤I love how sweet Sherpa is always so patient and how he waits for you to come back to the car .. he is such a good boy! But I know you know that !! I hope your plants do well with their new homes!!
I think sherpie deserves some more chicken balls. I rewatched the video from lockdown where sherpie stashed loads of chicken balls because you told he there was shortage ha ha
Haha omg yes 😂😂
😂 I remember that one. So funny 😂❤❤
Gardener Jamie😂 Yes, those plants needed repotting and those pots may have been a bit small for them. They are doing very well by Sherpy's company ❤❤❤
Hi Jamie and Sherpa! I like it when you take us shopping, especially to garden centres, they're my favorite! 🙂 Hope you both are having a great week! ♥
Went shopping for wood today 😊
@@SherpasDay Excellent, can't wait to see what you do with it! :)
@@josee123, I’m waiting for Jamie to take us to the yarn shop… that’s my other favorite store! Just can’t see why Dad Jamie would tho…🤔
@@slee7614 Haha, you never know! :)
Sherpa had a busy day supervising all of dads work for the day.
❤❤❤❤ a nice day in your lives. The happy plants look good. For future reference, wear gloves and a dust mask, Jamie, when you’re using potting mix. You don’t want to contract legionnaires disease from the bacteria in the mix. Just looking out for you ❤❤❤❤
The next pots for your plants should be a heavy ceramic. These are substantial plants and the weight of them will warrant sturdy large pots, so they don't fall over, just a suggestion for next re-potting in the future. 🎉😊🎉😊
Yea thats very true
Sherpa drinking though the hole in the steps was sweet ! Thank you for taking us around the garden centres , lovely video ! X ❤️🇬🇧
Aw thankyou 😊
Thanks for taking us shopping, I have not been to England and it's nice to see what stores are like there.
Yes, me too !!❤ 🇨🇦 Jamie takes us everywhere in the UK, castles, stores, coffee shops, pastry shops, wanders through cities with Sherpa! I love it!
Doh! You should use a potting mix for house plants, not straight compost! They need proper drainage in their soil. Ask Jodie's sister, Paige; she seems to be a house plant expert. 🙂
Sherpa is such a love he looked at you with those eyes when you said want to come out buddie he is precious. Have a wonderful day Jamie and Sherpa
They'd be alright in the hot summer months outdoors, but definitely not in cold months.
❤Jamie and Sherpa, always doing chores to beautify your new home. Still nesting! So satisfying! Sending love!❤
Lots of nesting to be done 😊
Yeah, you can't feed them the cheap stuff, they know, somehow 😂😂
They totally know 😊
@@SherpasDay 😂😂
Hi! I am always amazed at God's provision from everyone in this wonderful community, for you and Sherpa! It's really wonderful.😊
Aw me too 😊
Sherpa was completely disinterested in the arrival of the bird food it wasn’t for him so didn’t count. The birds on the other hand would have been thrilled.
In summer you can put them outside. But otherwise always inside... and they can grow very high... 😊
Take some of the old kompost off and los the roots a bit,you can put claybolls in the bottom of the pots for dranage ❤
Yes, we call it teasing the roots too. When they get root bound, separate and pull the roots gently apart before putting in soil. I also add a few pebbles or small rocks to the bottom of the pot. That compost looked like rich soil, but one has to be careful with that on indoor plants. I made that mistake once and used a rich garden like soil and had so many gnats in the house. I thought i would never get rid of those gnats; it was a mess. I only use Miracle Gro indoor plant potting mix now. You may have something similar in England. Jamie, just keep a watch on your plants and set outside as often as you can, and watch out for gnats with the soil used in the repotting.
Hey Jamie thought this might help but when repotting a plant break the dirt around the roots loose because the roots are root bound and this helps it grow better if you listen to the dirt and let’s route spread
Oh yes I remember I should have done that 🙈 thankyou
Great video Jamie. Please don't let Sherpa drink the water out of your new repotted plants. The water in those plants is now toxic from the potting soil. Quick question? Does it ever stop raining there in the UK? It seems like everytime you post a video it's raining. No wonder Sherpa's arthritis acts up sonetimes because it rains there so much. Love you guys. Have a lovely Wednesday. Take care. ❤️ ❤🫂🫂🐺🧔
FYI for next repoting take a fork and open up the bottom of roots and around the sides of roots to help it along. The soil you used was perfect. 😊👍🏼🇺🇸🇬🇧
Sometimes indoor plants do well outside, on a porch with a roof, so the sunlight stays minimal on the plants. I have two elephant foot plants that are doing very well out on the porch.
I talk to my plants too. I don't know why years ago I remember watching show on tv about plant care and people were showing how talking to them helped them grow. Then I heard people were ridiculing then Prince Charles about doing that. But, I think he has the last laugh with his beautiful Highgrove gardens.
Sorry Jamie but you mentioned let you know if you repotted in correctly. So.... Compost is a soil additive like a nature food for the soil. It is not planters mix or potting soil. Indoor plants you want to use Potting soil. Unless the Brits have different names for the soil types of Indoor plants need potting mix for drainage indoor plants require. The plants in pots need plan food per the label too. Pots use up nutrients in the soil or it leeches out. 2 other things the roots should be untwisted, or they will often continue to grow in a circle and remain root bound. When planting anything the soil is to be level with the root ball, don't bury the root ball. Keep the soil at the top of the plan. The top of the plant shouldn't be buried under. Any plant tips you can always ask your neighborhood nursery store. Yes, in mild winter places some indoor plants can work as outdoor. I would love to see your garden have some edibles like fruit trees and a raised bed garden for vegetables.
I usually put a coffee filter on the bottom of the pot. It keeps the soil in the pot yet allows water to drip out
If one is a yukka plant you can put them outside during a Cornish summer but they need to be protected during winter,if in doubt consult the plant instructions (if you kept them lol) And they are poisonous to dogs so its wise to check!Plants are generally hard to kill but if its a summer's Day it won't Hurt them putting outside in protected space on your little deck should be fine.. Sherpas supervison is Always handy..😂❤
Jamie, you have to have Jodie make you some plant pots. She does a beautiful job. Prices for the fancy ones are outrageous here in the US too. Sherpa loves to supervise, even when he does it with his eyes closed. ☺️🤭 I can’t get enough of seeing Sherpa enjoy his new home & garden. 🐾❤️🐾
You need to nip up to dart Moor today and let sherpa play in the snow while it's still there.
The next time you repot your plants i suggest putting some stones into the bottom of the new pot it will help stop the plant from toppling over
❤ You could easily have bought an even bigger pot for those plants. Now you probably have to repot again next year. There's a lot of roots on those plants 😊
I'm learning 😊
@@SherpasDay Yes, and you're doing good ❤️
Nice to see the mini. Sherpa’s favorite way to travel.
Excellent repotting job Jamie. I wouldn't even had tried doing that inside. I would have had dirt all over the room. I'm sure Sherpa's supervision was the key. 👍
I think that it would be a very good idea to let Batdog move in to the man cave (bat cave/summerhouse)! I am sure there is room for the Batmobile if you move the lawnmover out! 😂💖
Haha he'd love that
Sherpa was thinking " the people in Home Bargins and the garden centre are thinking my dad's gone pot-ty as he is talking to himself!"
😂😂 I did years ago 😂
Sherpa 🐺 is absolutely 💯 % ADORABLE!!! 💋💜🤗
wow you are so delicate with the plant :)
Indoor plants, considering the climate you're in. Thanks Jamie for keeping us updated on your & our Sherpa's adventures.
Great job Jaime 👏
Didn’t know you were still driving the Mini!
Beautiful plants Jamie ❤

Love that sherpa put his head through 2 drink the water lol hope he's OK lotsalove ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Iove how Jamie cares for birds n plant's...even though he looks like he's cementing them into their new pots 😅😂
Yah that potting mixture is not for houseplants. Maybe you can change it out Jamie? Hate to have your plants do poorly.
Well he tries his best.
@@wandawright7657 He really does, he's a lovely person 👍🏻
You have a green thumb Jaime 👍 Joan 😊
Sherps has to authorise where these plants are going & into which pots, thrn afterwards make sure Jamie's done everything to his satifaction. All's OK so now I can lay by the fire & relax for a while oh Dad what time's tea I'm starving. Lots of Love Annette❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍

Oh noooo
Those trays go under the pots to help with watering, I believe
Jamie you are such a nurturing soul! Love the way you care for the plants, feed the birds, tend the garden, generally improve your home, and most especially how you take such exquisite care of Sherpa. Well done I say!! 💚🌿🌴🐦🐦⬛🌱🌿💚
If a plastic pot works, you can always cover it up like wrapping it or painting it.
Great video of re-potting, I'm useless with plants 😂
Aww Sherpa having a drink theough the railing how cute.
Love you so much beautiful boy 💙💙🐾🐾
Brilliant potting maybe put some shell's or small pretty rock's on top of the new soil they will appreciate it! Looking good Fitness! And Dad the soil keeper! Lol🎉
In the wild, those plants turn into very large trees. Lucky for you, yours are indoor plants only. You did a good job repotting them.
I love the shopping in store vlogs!
Sherpa: I'm hoping dad can find something to where I can grow my own chicken balls and sausages. Me: Sherpa is awesome, I'm hoping to get my diabetes and joint pain better so I can work again, and have money so I can send Sherpa some treats
Aw I hope you get better soon too buddy, don't worry tho sherpas treats are covered 😊😊
Mr. Home Improvement strikes again. Well done. Your fan from Colorado, USA.
Jamie, it looks like you feed your birds sunflower hearts. That what I feed mine and they love it. The squizzels, chipmunks, and Canada Geese love it as well. They eat about 50 pounds a month. I noticed you said you bet $20 Sherpa would drink out of the plant dish. It made me laugh to hear you say dollars instead of quid. Now if we could get you to drive on the right, we’d have you Americanized. 😂 Hugs to you and Sherpa from Tennessee USA.
Sherpa's facial expressions or the looks he throws you, always makes me laugh!😂 🐺 Sherpa: "banging on about those plants again, huh Dad?". Jamie you're a good plant Dad.👍🪴🥰
Sherpa is very good at the quiet gratitude 🐾🐕
I just read something on the weather channel I’d like to share. During the 2017 eclipse, traffic accidents spiked 31%! 😳
😮😮
Hi Jamie Sherpa enjoy your day love you sweetie 🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤
Your plants are certainly doing very well. I hope beautiful Sherpa continues to to do well also
Jamie: Put a square of 4 cheaper flag stones or stones under that fire pit. It will ruin the stones it is on now and they need protecting.
Jamie, I usually cut off any roots that have twirled round the rootball and try and loosen up the others, then repot into the next size pot. I tend to stick my fingers or a tool down the sides after I've put the compost in to ensure there are no air pockets. The plants will be fine😊
The plants are beautiful Jamie. Always things to do keeping you busy with Sherpa as supervisor🥰🥰😍😍😘😘❤️❤️💙💙
The plants are very healthy and lovely. They will love their new homes. You and Sherpa have a cozy day🐾🐾
Jamie you need to get some bird disinfectant for the bird feeders to help stop the birds getting sick. I get mine from a pet shop or garden centre that has pet food. I wash my bird feeders and let them dry and then use the diinfectant
Ooh yes I was them out once a week 😊
Great video dear!!!!! Love Sherpy very much!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I'm sure the plants appreciate their new homes. Yeah, I think Sherpa might drink the water. I have to laugh how he puts his head through the posts (railings) to drink his water. He's too cute! 🥰
He's such a character isn't he 😂
@@SherpasDay sure is. Love it! 😀
Indoor plants for ever!….loosening bound roots by lightly finger scraping packed dirt when changing pots works wonders😊
I've seen people use chopsticks to loosen the root ball gently.
