Man I have to give credit where it’s due. Penning was our biggest worry going in to the year and in a year of catastrophic injuries on offense he started the entire year. With a full season under his belt hopefully he only gets better.
If you look at our biggest needs, it's on defense. It's easy to forget given all the injuries, but our WRs include Olave, Shaheed...and if we can hold onto MVS...our receiver room sounds pretty competent. If we keep Helaire, Kendre, Kamara...our RB room seems competent. Maybe you can fill something on offense like interior o line, but our defense needs help.
Raider fans have no say in what Saints need.
@KermitTFYT
I'm not a Raiders fan lol
Is this because I've tried to be realistic about Carr vs Rattler? Like listen, I get people wanna tear everything down but I don't think that's gonna happen realistically. I suspect we will clear a good bit of cap, but I doubt we will tear it down completely.
You’re my favorite saints podcast ♥️ you should cover Daboot Tragedies too
Tre Harris would be a Homerun Day 2 pick for the saints, He's a 6'3 210 Pound physical Wideout and a Louisiana Native. He also had a 1,000 Yard rec Yard season even while dealing with injuries, but those Injuries could be a problem in his future
Yeah he's a serious prospect to look at for the Saints
Mickey's ears just pricked up when you said "injuries"
I would have to draft Harris, a Louisiana kid playing for his home state.
Cam Skattebo
He is the one player I want the most.
Hopefully we can get him on day 2
He should be a first round consideration like jamyr Gibbs
@@toddlee4457 he's been ranked the 5th best RB in the draft.
He's probably going to Denver
The big 4 is Tet, Mason Graham, Will Johnson and Abdul Carter, any of those would be amazing but think they'll be gone
Idk if I'm sold on McMilllan just yet
@@JamesSkrmetta fair enough, I'm praying for Graham like you. Looking forward to the off season content king as someone thats more interested in the narrative side of things
Also, I love the shoutout for WalterFootball, I love reading their assessments and mocks each offseason
Given the saints philosophy and past several draft picks of OL/DL I think you have to with Graham given how obvious the inability of stuffing the run up the middle has been for this team since 2021. Also need a safety/WR in round 2 and 3. And there’s still the possibility of us giving Paulson Adebo a new contract extension
Paulson is done. His knee is done.
I would prefer multiple trade backs and amass huge amounts of picks. It would be possible to maybe get 12 - 15 rookies so they could hopefully shed some of the cap killing contracts and dead money. With a large influx of rookies the won loss record wouldn't be great in 2025 so maybe we could get Arch if he's coming out next year. P.S. Sign Vrabel now!!!!
I need either Michigan DT and or Malachi Starks S from GA..
The defense needs to be rebuilt in the interior and the back end
MASON GRAHAM AND CAM SKATTEBO
Skattebo right now is rated a 3rd to 4th round pick. I love him for the Taysum Hill role though.
@@gregorygerber9627first time I’ve heard that. That kids a monster. I’d take him day 1-2. Letting that talent go is bone headed.
I would love to take the following players at 9.
Mason Graham
T. McMillan
Will Johnson
Kelvin Banks
Why isn’t Caesar Ruiz our backup Center? Would it makes sense to draft a Guard that can play either side and Ruiz can be the backup Center incase McCoys Groin explodes again?
Mason graham ⚜️
king
Me personally I’m drafting a wr first pick. A big body wr that can go grab the ball. Olave route running, shaheed speed, and a wr like Tmac from Arizona or Luther burden
Luther burden shorter than olave bud
So we’re expected to run it back with our current receiving core?
Yea. It’s not even close to one of our biggest needs
@@michaelziegler9337bro how can you say that we had practice squad receivers all season
@@michaelziegler9337 you actually don’t know anything about football 😂
I’ve said it way before this video was made. The saints should NOT pass on Mason Graham if he is there at 9. Right on James glad we both feel the same way lol.
Mason Graham is a beast he rarely has any weaknesses. Amazing talent watch his films if any of you haven’t. Finesse moves are crazy
Guy is relentless against the run
I think if mason, mcmillion, Carter, will, are not available we trade down and draft someone like Nick scourtin who is good at pass rush and run defense
Might be the dumbest take I’ve seen but there’s always a chance someone said something dumber.
@ just wondering why do you think it’s a dumb take.
@@honeybadgersquad2680 I meant to comment this on someone else’s comment.
@@KermitTFYT ok
I think with all the holes this team has the smart thing to do is to trade back and accumulate picks lord knows we need almost a whole team
RELAX. We only need
QB
OT
OG
CB
WR
WR
RB
ED
DT
CB
And some depth
And GM
For our first roud targets, i say it should be Abdul Carter, Mason Graham, Tetairoa MacMillan, Mykel Williams and Tyler Warren.
I’d love to get cam skattebo but we have bigger needs
@@JoshThegreat-lu7bxwe could get him he would be a 2nd rounder
Nic Scourton is better fit than Carter and graham
@@toddlee4457 I like Scourton as well. I forgot to mention him.
Greta list of players getting the Michigan Dline men or the WR from Arizona would be a dream get I think
I keep seeing Mykel Williams to us at that 9 spot.
Draft interior line and pass rush
What’s up James⚜️
Yes! Tyler Warren for the win! Taysom 2.0!
Graham, millium, and Higgins would be a nice we in the 3rd
Skattebo*
Lineman on both sides of the ball
Guard fasho a need
@@JamesSkrmetta And DT run stopper
First pick should be Mason Graham all the good back in the NFCS you got to stop the run first
No doubt
In my mock, I have TMac and Deone Walker at 1 and 2
In my recent mock draft, in the first round, I got Mykel Williams and second round Derrick Harmon.
Trade down in first, grab Tyler Warren.
2nd Milroe or JT Tuimalo or Josh Conerly jr
Grab Restrepo or Tez Johnson if avail.
Skatebo or similar, DT like Pat Jenkins ornShemar Turner.
So many holes we like Swiss on Swiss
We do not need a qb. Skattebo is a must. Is Warren is there he’s a must. Mason Graham is a must. Abdul carter is a must. But we just drafted rattler and he played decent.
@@KermitTFYT We need a QB Kermit. Who is going to back up Rattly if he gets injured?
ideally our QB room looks like- Rattly, rookie drafted this draft, a vet.
Id love Teddy B to be that vet, but others could work there
1st: mason graham (if there)
2nd: Tate ratledge/Tre Harris
3rd: Jayden Higgins if we don’t go receiver in 2nd round
3rd(2): gunner helm? Or skat
Skat wont be there in the 3rd
I say get Skattebo in the second is not the first. We need a play maker.
Mason Taylor in the 3rd. We need a pass catching TE in the worse way. JJ dropped way too many passes this year.
@@michaelrobinson6670 I didn’t know he declared. I’d take him. But as for Juwan, I just think him and foster weren’t being utilized a lot until Spencer came into the lineup.
Only three players in the likely available cloud:
Tyler Warren
Ashton Jeanty
Nic Scourton
Well well well ....here we are one year later and Riley Leonard is not even mentioned in the first round quarterback/top 10 conversation.
Trade back to like 14 or 15, pick up an second rd & maybe a 4th rd pick & take nic scourton
Zion back for a game
Team are firing there GM’s but not Ms Benson.
You don't take a run stopper in the first round.
Take Deone Walker in round 2
Can skattebo*
@KermitTFYT Payton will take him in Denver
Why not take jeanty tho look how ak and ingram was
When AK gets injured we have no O
Having another great RB would be scary
We have way bigger holes in the roster to address
@@JamesSkrmettaI say the running game is just as big a hole as anything else on the team. Yea Kamara had 950 but at what cost. Getting injured, and being over used.
Whoever thinks we should get Ashton Jeanty, you belong in River Parish Disposal
Ashton G if drafted 9th ain’t gonna be a backup. Dude is a walking video game 🎮
@@mroberts453 Lol he’s not starting over Kamara
Idk about that, was allowed high numbers on low tier opponents with large amounts of carries, but I Iike Jeanty
@@JamesSkrmetta kamara almost 30.
AK only has 2 years left, he could be drafted to help AK out until AK retired. AK plays better when he has help, like with Ingram.
Take Tyler warren 1st round
We'd have to trade down
A QB that nobody is talking about will move up the draft board. It happens every year
Howard
Or Navarro
@geoffhoutman1557 or both
@@charlesjonesjr.864 Considering that half or more of an draft picks are busts- let's play the numbers game- 2 QBs, 2 Edges, 2 olinemen etc
Trading down in the first (only 5 or 6 spots if possible) could get us up to a total of 12 picks, draft 2 each of 6 positions.?
Anything has to be better than Mickeys usual "one player away- trade up" plan
@geoffhoutman1557 I trust Mickey Loomis as much as I know how you look. He gone fuck it up dawg. Don't matter how many picks the Saints get.
@@charlesjonesjr.864 I'd trade our first for a great GM
I think we all would
Trade back and get draft capital please and thank you 🤞🏾
💯
If graham mcmillan or carter isnt there at 9 they need to trade down and get Warren. They need rebuild and have starters not developmental players.
They gone package a bunch of picks move up and grab a QB. Then they gone cut Carr eat the cap money and still do better then 5-12
That would involve two firsts and other picks
We can’t afford that
Found the new worst take here.
@KermitTFYT that's what they told me earlier this year when I predicted that the saints would go 6-11. All of the media Nola James shermrtta all of them locked on all of them. Proved wrong 5-12 ..I was 1 game off probably because I'm a fan
@KermitTFYT the saints have a tendency to give up a lot of picks to move up drafts ..to get there player...wrong because they don't know how to draft in the 3rd 4th and 5th rounds that why out roster is trash when the starters get hurt..the talent drop off is real
Mykel or Abdul for me
Way to early to talk draft. We don’t know what the scheme will be yet.
That mock (and Walter Football) is absolute trash. Ollie Gordon ahead of Tyler Warren. Look out for another Dane Brugler mock soon
Trade back & get more picks
In my opinion there are no first round quarterbacks in this year’s draft.
Saints just need to stay away from small school players. We need day 1 producers not project guys.
OL. ... round 1
Who would you go with?
Trade down
D-line it starts in the trenches come on now
Luther Burden III if we can't get Abdul Carter
Ashton Jeanty did not look very good against Penn State. Not at all.
That's bc they were keying on him. He was the only threat. Now imagine him on a big school team let's just say texas or Ohio st. Then u can not key on him bc of the talent that would be around him. Jeanty is the TRUTH.
Skattebo.
If the Saints are smart with that number nine, pick they’ll go get Ashton jeanty
Cam Skattebo >
If the Saints are smart with that number nine, pick they’ll go get Ashton jeanty
ehhhhhhhhhhhh
@@JamesSkrmettacam Skattebo in the second or trade down to get multiple picks in the second maybe idk.
