    I sat down for my Sunday morning coffee and saw you had posted your video. I grabbed my headphones and told my hubby, "excuse me while I go to French Polynesia with the Wynns. I'll be back soon". You have no idea how much I enjoy watching your videos every Sunday morning!!! Excellant video editing and music!

      Thanks Agnes! Nikki is the Drone Artist and she's getting lots of practice here in French Polynesia :) Now we just need to upgrade our drone from the old Mavic to the new one...that would provide even more dramatic aerials.

      @@@gonewiththewynns I have to agree, y'all have some of the best drone footage I've seen on any sailing channel. Great job Nikki!! Without giving away all your secrets, I'm just curious is all your footage hand flown or are you using either geo-fencing or follow me modes?

    • @davidturner8301
      @davidturner8301 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@corvairchris82 I'd say mostly hand flown (used to show a cut of Nikki before some footage etc) though there are some follow me modes used when powering on their dingie. There are def some useful geo location sequencing options with today's higher end drones

    All your videos are always entertaining and very well edited (if not the best, right there with the best), but this one really stuck out to me. I think it was the couple on the hunter....They were really fun and you can tell they love the cruising lifestyle....It is always easy to show a cruising couple on a beautiful big catamaran or a true blue water boat like a Hylas, Swan, 20 ton full keeled boat, etc. but it goes to show you how this couple took their beautiful "production" Hunter boat and are living the dream and cruising.....I get sick of the grumpy miserable know it alls, still in the typewriter era always saying "you cant do this" and "you cant do that" unless you have a certain boat.....You guys are the perfect example of buying a boat, educating yourselves and getting out there. Their boat was so well set up for their needs and good for them.......Very enjoyable video......

    • @williamdykes2750

      My thoughts exactly. This vid was a pretty solid endorsement for the Hunter. I was a Pearson owner myself, but had three friends who owned Hunter 34s, one shallow keel and the other deep keel. Another friend who owned a Hunre 42. All looked great and sailed really well in coastal NC. One took a 34 to the Bahamas and the islands. All good. I don't know any blue water sailers though, but the owners in this vid look like they have sailed well on the Hunter. Nice boat.

      I was somewhat surprised at the Hunter that had to make passage across lots of blue water. They are a great boat and am familiar with them after having a 2001 Hunter 410. Hopefully those reef sharks and rays have learned to forage for their own dinner and not depend upon tourism.

      to be fair, cats domesticated themselves, but for the dogs absolutely right.
      cats now are fed by us but we befreinded them not by feeding them but by allowing them to hunt our pests, wich is convenient. also we feed them with the wrong food, which halves their life expentancy (kibble instead of meat)

    Hey Jason and Nikki, Always enjoy following your adventures with Cleo & Singa on Curiosity. I love your adventurist spirit and desire to explore. :) I have one little observation that comes from a generation older than you two as I’m 55. Enjoy the moment! Don’t overthink the experiences you’re blessed to have or you will miss a piece of the joy of life. There are bound to be places where people/tourist like yourselves will have some impact but they’re just trying to explore, enrich and enjoy also. Observing their experiences can enrich your own? This great big world God gave us to explore is big enough for all to have an enriched experience and due to the size of earth, we really have little impact. So I leave you with this thought because it has enriched my life. I love watching others enjoying experiences and dreams while it happens and as they enjoy it. See the looks on their faces, hear the laughs and the excitement in their voices as they see a shark or touch a stingray for the first time. I think sometimes we’re all pressured by some to regret the impact humans have on earth instead of understanding the balance and the efforts we all make to minimize that footprint. Wishing you continued safe travels, great memories and amazing adventures!

      My secret is Internet (perhaps). I found a decently fast connection and I uploaded at a bitrate of 16 instead of my normal 8 :) Maybe that's why every keeps saying the footage 'pops'. That's a double edged sword...I probably won't be able to get that fast internet again for a while :(

    • @fritzonvespa
      @fritzonvespa 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Could be internet, but I think you're being modest. Re-watched, and the cuts seem sharper, timing of pans and zoom is tight and there is a nice differing of length of shots that give it great tension. Possibly just fortuitous, but more likely that you guys have become ace videographers ! Just keep doing what you are doing !! (^..^)v

    Back in the eighties, I sailed a lot between Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the rest of the Caribbean. Even at that time, cruising consisted of a constant search for areas not frequented by tourist operators. If you are cruising to an area for the first time, it is inevitable to visit areas of interest to tourists but like you did at the end, finding the pristine desolated landscape is always the best part of the trip. It was great to see a cruising couple so proud of their boat.

It educates people on various animals or fish, provides income for the locals, etc..there are so very many habitats, that are protected just for that reason, untouched by man, I don't think we'll collapse the ecosystem in that regard. This reminds me of when my wife and I went on a ray and shark feeding tour on Bora Bora. Didn't care for the slimy feel of the rays feeding, we were in chest-deep water feeding them bait. For the shark feeding, the guide had us hanging on a snorkel line in deep water while he threw hamburger balls to the sharks about 50' in front of us. I wondered to myself "Where are the sharks coming from?" I looked behind us to see 6 sharks floating in the current about 8' behind my fins. They were so beautiful and rather small, maybe 5' long, that I wasn't at all afraid. They were the color of deer; buckskin brown, black tips on the fins, and eye "mascara" like Cleopatra. They were taking turns eating the hamburger balls!

I understand that in many places around this world this is their definition of sustaining wildlife through tourism. I just wish they would make sure that their practices are truly protecting the animals and the area. Also, once again you have created a beautiful video. I don't want to criticize other bloggers but most of them should watch your videos as well as Delos, and La Vagabond to see how to get this right. You have just the right amount of talking and not talking, if you get my drift. Beautiful pictures and great story content. You guys rock!

    Only just discovered your channel and absolutely adore it. The filming is incredible, love the aerial shots and the underwater stuff! We currently own and live on a canal boat in the UK, and now we are dreaming of getting a boat like yours in the future sailing around the world. Amazing stuff guys, thanks for sharing! ❤️

    At least they are not killing and eating the sharks and rays. Great video as usual! Thank you for posting them. Have fun and be safe.

    I really appreciate how you guys acknowledged how out of the norm the swimming with sharks and rays was. I know they aren't trained or abused but you're so right the feeding them changes their natural instincts and that feels wrong. People dont understand how animal adventures overseas are more often than not terrible for the animals they're trying to enjoy. I'm just grateful you said it.

    I felt the same way about “swimming with the dolphins” in Mexico... during I loved it and cried like crazy... I think because it was such a unique experience. But after I felt like I had done something wrong. Part of me regretted it, but part of me was thrilled that I did it. That was 18.5 years ago and I am not sure there was as much info out there about the negative aspects of these places. Awesome video... I am certain Mary will love it and even more so since she gets to spend time with the two of you in paradise. Cheers!

    Beautiful scenery. The ray kisses were the best. We live next to a wildlife refuge and feeding the animals is a big no no. However, it was very cool to watch.

    I always give you guys a comment you guys are living a great life and it's just awesome watching it through your lens it is the same feeling I have is when people do that with wild animals and for their own benefit it is foolish but on the other hand when you went to a place where you're just there by yourself how awesome is that Vegas bill peace enjoy your mother-in-law
