I loved how (besides his creed) Pedro's acting showed why he wears the helmet. Because his face is so soft and expressive (put on the descriptive audio for this ep and they describe him as having soulful brown eyes lol) - if enemies could see his face it would be nowhere near as menacing as seeing this faceless helmet

I should note, that when Mando repeats Gideon's words back to him, he makes one important difference. Gideon said "it." Mando said "he." One small change that completely changes the entire context.

    • @anthonyyoutubefan7567
      @anthonyyoutubefan7567 3 ปีที่แล้ว +57

Because, to Gideon, The Child is, "an asset"...a conduit...a means to an ultimate end...a thing...nothing more. To Din Djarin, Grogu is an embodiment of his, "Hope"....and his Soul. The Mandalorian was, to an extent, dead inside, before encountering his bounty. Within that little more than a year's time, he's been "awakened" to many things, physically, psychologically, and spiritually. The official unmasking, was Din Djarin's bearing of his true self to the world and the galaxy. He'll never be the same after this moment. He may wear the helmet, but it won't wear him anymore...

I think that Din is re-evaluating his beliefs in the ways of Deathwatch due to he removed the helmet and showing his face to Mayfield. During this season, Din met Bo-Katan and Boba Fett who had their helmets removed in front of others are still Mandalorians. But I see a conflict brewing if his covert or clan knows that he violated the ancient ways in which they following themselves. I think that his saving grace is Woman Armorer (Emily Swallow) whom sent him on his quest would give him a pass.

Plus him finding out his group was a group of religious extremists could really make him realize if he truly wants to follow what he truly believes in. Would love to see a plotline of him trying to find out more about the clan he was apart of as he struggles with his beliefs. I honestly think the mandalorian is a fucking masterpiece of television.

Pedro Pascal did a fantastic job looking extremely uncomfortable without his helmet. And Bill Burr's acting was on point too. You could tell exactly what was going through Mayfield's mind while talking with his old CO, just by watching his face. And it's good to know that even he has a line he won't cross.

Our heroes killed local freedom fighters.
Our heroes were rescued by Imperial troops.
Our heroes killed the imperial troops that saved them.
And we cheered through it all.
This whole episode was a morality pendulum that comes back to rest at Bill Burr's monologue in the Juggernaut.

After Bill Burr's performance, I think it would be cool to see an Imperial story next to Andors's rebel story. The way he performed, projecting Mayfield's memories into his performance and the change in his expressions, i mean I'm definitely not comparing the likes of Anthony Hopkins, my favourite actor, but Bill's got something good.

I got far too invested in the story i made up in my head for the shore trooper they shoot just after Richard Brake. There is that pause where you can just tell there are a million thoughts going through his head.
Shore Trooper 5 second prior - "Fuck sake, i'm having such a shitty day. First my entire regiment get destroyed by those pirates, i barely get out alive myself, then i stepped in Wamp Rat Shit, i smell, i'm tired. Then Brenda dumps me by text, fuck my life. I just want to sit back and enjoy this Baloni Sandwich which i've been looking forward to all morn... shit they just shot my commanding officer, oh no, don't shoot me, don't shoot me, I JUST WANT MY SANDWIC..."
I really felt for that guy and his entirely fictional back story i just created lol

Hi Greg and John. I loved this episode so much. Good Action sequances. Glad to see Bill burr and the funny comments in the episode. I love that Mando took off his helmet. He loves Grogu so much. He's willing to take off his helmet just to get his adopted little green son back. I love the character developemet on mayfeld. Bill burr did such a good job in this episode. The last bit when mand was talking to Gideon I was like "OH he burned you buddy." It was a good episode looking forward to the next episode.

    When you realize that Mayfeld:
    a) Is the only currently living* human who has seen Din's face.
    b) Had more character development in one TV-episode than Finn had in 3 movies.

I think seeing him take off his helmet shows how important Grogu is to him and just leans weight to the line “He means more to you will ever know.” We as an audience know because we have seen him willing to die rather then remove his helmet. But he took it with out hesitation to save Grogu.
