I think it would be very unwise for her to move abroad. She is already struggling to navigate a familiar system and does not seem especially savvy/street smart. Imagine her trying to navigate a new location, culture, and government system with no guidance or support. She would be an easy target for scammers. And what happens if she gets very ill? At least here the emergency rooms will still treat her if she can’t pay, even if the overall healthcare system is a mess. On top of that, she’d be isolated and might find herself unable to return home if she wanted to. She needs a case worker to help her take advantage of the financial resources and community support around her. Moving abroad is a great idea for some people in certain situations, but not for her. Wishing her the best - life is tough!
I thought that suggestion was to open her mind to possibilities and options. She was given simple steps to adjust her budget & get some earnings & savings & hasn't done a thing. Once she got the life experience of actually doing something, she would have a few savings and could look into somewhere closer, like Mexico. Instead of totally relying on the kindness and mercy of the US social support, health system and friends. I suspect she just came on the show to boost her profile, not to actually change anything at all in her life.
Unfortunately Summer is still living in that dream, which is great! but shouldn't be her main priority for the next couple of decisions she will have to make!
She should go to China. They’ll hire her to attend parties, represent companies just based on her race no kidding. They just want a Western look if you catch my drift
I’m 58 with MS, $0 and no SSI. Will I make it? Well… I just got a job that pays $40K with a matching 401K, so there’s hope! Romain’s advice to stop seeing herself as her disability is exactly what she needs to do! When I got the courage, I did it, and she can too.
Yes, I found out at 21 that I was a DES daughter & could develop female cancers at any time... so I got into a long-term study by a leading researcher to find out possible outcomes & the importance of monitoring checkups regularly. Then I went on with my life, weathering a divorce & raising 2 sons as a single mother. I found out that I had many challenges, but good friends would see me through it all!!
I’m not sure if she will be able to make it on her own without help. She may have a cognitive disability and going to Thailand alone could be dire for her. My heart goes out to her and I hope she gets the support she needs.
I feel for Summer and I hope she didn't come on this show thinking this will be her acting career breakthrough. Romain, you gave her very easy, doable, practical advice. For her sake, I hope she wakes up one day to realize the change she wants in her life requires her to take the reigns and to exercise agency.
Roman, I hope you read this. I just discovered your channel, and you provide real value to your guests. I’m coming from the Caleb Hammer channel and glad I discovered you. Caleb all he does is yell at his guests and gives zero advice or value. You actually, give people hope, and I appreciate it. Please keep it up.
@@SoloSummitDiaries good evening 😊 yes I read every single comment and I am very thankful that you gave me a chance! I am definitely coming from a different perspective than Caleb.
She needs courage, confidence, family, love, friends and a big mindset shift. Im impressed she had it to go on your show. My heart goes out to her. It can be scary to take the plunge and get away from the familiar, even when the familiar doesnt work.. but l really hope she goes for it. Lolx
This is an episode for everyone saying that we all have plenty of time to figure it out in life... Not always, no. Maybe have a reliable career before 40, so that when some crap happens you don't have to stock store shelves because you have no other skills and can't gain them now due to health condition. This has literally spiked up my anxiety more than ever since I'm unemployed right now, on purpose, while looking for a better job/career. But at least I have a good support system, I'm married to a very stable and supportive man.
I can relate to Summer so much and I have to say again how much I appreciate how you operate with such respect and compassion. I felt it in my heart when you asked her why she had never put any money away. I am just like her in that way at 54. I just never did. It's not like I made the decision not to, but instead I just felt like since I wasn't "a money person" and was a creative person, that it just wouldn't be an option for me. Every now and then I would try, but I didn't have the skills to make any sustainable changes. So, the attempts would fail and I would just living in the moment and putting out whatever was the next financial fire. It has and is taking me a very long time to shift my thinking and improve my self esteem in a way that I continue to make better financial choices. I am so lucky that I am healthy and making a good income doing work that I love, but I am frankly terrified that something is going to happen before I get enough saved and invested to deal with health issues, emergencies, or not being able to work any more. All that is to say that people like us need support and clear, simple direction with dignity and respect. I can speak for myself that I already know my situation is not good, and it's quite difficult to release the shame around that. You are doing the right thing by meeting people where they are, being compassionately direct with them about their situation, and offering sustainable solutions. I just really love what you are doing here. Keep going!
I really enjoyed reading your comment! I appreciate you trusting me with your time, please feel free to reach out to me directly as well at romainfaurechannel@gmail.com if you would like to chat :) Best to you, Romain
Another INCREDIBLE episode. THANK YOU Romain for all of your incredible work on your journey to 100k followers. I believe you can do it🎯. Let’s goooooo❗️🙌🏾
I don't think she could qualify for residency in Mexico, you need a substantial income now. She is misinformed about Section 8 housing, it varies greatly and isn't just in bad neighborhoods. He life is like that of a lot of my clients. I think she may need a more simple breakdown of tasks she needs to do for each goal. The hardest thing I see is that she doesn't feel well and seems depressed and hopeless about changing her situation. Section 8 housing waiting lists can take years in some places but it's definitely worth applying, and her disability could qualify her for a shorter wait. Thanks for your video!
I feel with some of the people who come on here are doing it to publicise themselves- to just be on a video, not to change anything in their lives. Sadly, this one seems so.
Summer, you need to ACT like you have more confidence and energy than you currently display to the world. You’re acting like an extra in your own life, you need to find your main-character energy!
Wow what a great idea to suggest thailand. Even if she never goes, it may be a good mental stretch for her to consider it, in her quiet moments. It may be enough of a stretch that the idea of finding remote work seems so easy in comparison, and maybe she will be able to take that smaller step. I hope Summer can find her passion for life again. Losing your dreams is a hard thing to grieve. If she did community theatre for fun it may help her. It seems like the obstacle is hoping to "make it" as a famous actress. Just have fun acting and see where it goes.
SSI and social security disability payments are two different programs. If she is on SSI {and mediciad} she will lose that if she moves out of the country. If she is getting social security disability she can still receive it. Any savings account or work could also count against the SSI resource limit.
I agree with other comments that say there is likely more to Summer's situation than we're aware of, and that could be complicating her financial situation. In addition, there are a couple of important points. She said in the update (when she admitted to basically having done zero follow through on the plan that was presented to her) that she never went to college. As far as I'm aware, the companies in the US that use Americans to teach English to children abroad via Zoom all require that you have a minimum of a bachelor's degree. I think she probably could do customer service work of some type, however. Part of the problem is that it requires a fair amount of tenacity and skill to negotiate earning a part time income, while not undermining her disability income and other benefits. (It's also hard to accept that the government is going to claw back almost half of what you earn.) I feel like dealing with all of that requires a particular temperament, which may or may not be realistic to expect of Summer. As for moving out of the country, Summer is still clinging to the idea that she may have a career in acting, and is likely to resist such a move for at least another 10 years or more, until she either fully retires or her health declines further (as it tends to do erratically with MS, and at which point such a move may not be practical). I do commend you for your efforts Romain.
I appreciate this video, as I never knew clear minded, honest, people have no clue about finances.🤷🏻♀️ Blows my mind! Or don’t really care about finances…It explains a LOT about the United States… She’s probably surrounded her selves with like minded individuals. I hope that she makes new friends that are motivating, however I feel that she has a victim mentality. I think he should have suggested she go on Medicare to pay for medical and also, she could benefit from therapy. I feel she has loads of unresolved issues and limiting beliefs right now. My heart ❤️ goes out to her and those like her. I’m grateful to have learned and been humbled today🙏🏼
Is she on SSI or SSDI? SSI is for disabled people without a work record. SSI has an asset limit of $2000. However, a person can put up to $18,000 per year into an ABLE Account. There is no asset limit if you have SSDI from having a work record.
She can apply for free phone with free unlimited data plan from Assurance Wireless since she is low income. Also as mentioned in video she can apply to Energy Assistance Program for Nevada that pays about $800 a year, and also to Nevada Energy lower income solar energy program. She should also consider getting extra food from food banks.
A samoyed is a large luxury breed that she bought 5 years after her diagnosis. If she can't hold a job because she randomly has to skip work, she can't be in TV or movies. They require commitment.
I can’t imagine partaking in those scammy videos. I have watched many, too, and I think / thought most were real. To fake generosity and kindness for clout is very low. And I think she just doesn’t get it and is in a VERY tough spot.
Romain should sell patience pills 💊 Compassion and empathy and helpful pills too. I think they're currently on the market labeled Smarties but they're not nearly as amazing as Romain 🏅
I go through Straight Talk and pay $35 a month for my bill. If you are going somewhere and you need more data it's $5-$10 extra. I buy that if I'm on a road trip. I'll never go back to an expensive phone plan. 📱
Did she say where she lives? I'm wondering if she's somewhere acting opportunities exist. I think probably her dream of acting has gotten her through everything so I understand why she's reluctant to surrender it. It's very telling that defending it brought a spark of life for her. Actually, I think someone said she's in Vegas? If so, she could possibly do extra work for film/TV. The pay depends on your union status. Also, she would meet some new people, which is good in itself, but she could also network to find out about more possibilities. I also wonder if a medication for MS is dampening any motivation.
Hope she follows Romains advice! She seems stuck, I think it’s her mindset. She can have a good life in Thailand if she would take steps to make it happen.
Stores like Walmart & Meijer hire retired or disabled workers as greeters. All you have to do is say hello & goodbye to customers as they enter & leave the store. Just a thought for the young lady to earn more income.
Just because she is disabled doesn't mean she has no skills and can't produce an income. Crochet, painting, writing, music, tutoring, babysitting etc. could all bring an income in for her. It will be difficult because she could lose some of her current benefits, so speaking with a social worker may be needed.
I had the same reaction on the Tik Tok skits so thanks for calling that out. Though its not her doing this they are exploiting her as well she seems oblivious to participating in this pathetic deception. Also l do have empathy for her illness l still think she would've financially been in same spot. Her father infantileze her by paying for her bills. Dont do that to your kids l see so much of this that even in 40s people are not self sufficient and then what happens when you go. You are NOT helping them
bless her heart. she's only justifying the skit job because she needs it. considering her own circumstances, she isn't bothered or concerned with the fakeness of it all. best we can do is call out the BS in the comment sections of that type of content.
I don't see or feel that she is motivated. She may be too used to the life she is living and has resigned herself to remaining in that state. She says she's not happy with her life, but too beaten down to want to change.
You might as well have talked to a brick wall! This woman takes ZERO responsibility for her situstion and has NO intention of doing anything to help her csuse! It also looks like she gets her nails done! I feel sorry for her roommate having to take up the slack and listen to her!
Some advice you have here is plain wrong. People receiving SSI cannot live outside of the US. Social security yes, SSI no. Instead of telling her to negotiate with T-Mobile why not give her a ready to go option like Mint Mobile with is $30/mo for everything she gets with T-Mobile.
Sextion 8 is not that cheap. The tenant has to make up the difference. Health is everything. You can go so far with good health. She needs support system, to live outside of the USA. Shecannot work in those countries.
She’s not understanding that people are thinking the charity skits are real. And then, they’re definitely ripping her off with amount they’re giving her.
I don't think she's bothered - of course she knows and thinksit doesn'tmatter, that it inspires people. And it's the job that makes her a paid actor - her dream.
I don't think it matters if people think that the skits are real , thats their problem . People think the things they see on telly are real and they are fake . Like romance shows etc , its all fake . The Telly is full to the brim with lies . So who cares .
Summer is so child-like. Doesn't really have the tools to make things happen though I know her MS is probably really weighing heavily on her. Fortunately, there is treatment now that manages MS very well. I don't know if there is any more that can be said or done in her case. She has to really want this change. I know people who have gotten remote jobs without any experience with half the personality that she has. I think you were correct in identifying that she just seems to have given up. She may need some counseling. Getting diagnosed with a disease is life-altering. Hope the best for her. Again, a great interview Romain.
I gave up when I was diagnosed. With the pain, the depression, anxiety and society feeling like a freight train running you over, it gets overwhelming! I started watching motivational videos though, peeled myself up and got hired at a call center. Sitting all day hurts but it’s better than becoming homeless. Thanks for your compassion. Not a lot of people out there who empathize.
I felt the exact same way when she explained the Tik Toc skit. I am hearing more and more about all these fake skits and setups played on Facebook and Instagram etc. which makes me think twice about all the doom scrolling I get sucked into. I am getting very close to removing most social media from my life except TH-cam
The worst ones are the animal videos..which makes me think these people are putting these animals in these distressing situations just to ''rescue'' them for views. Sickening. Humans are the absolute worst. We deserved the plague and covid.
I only use TH-cam- for information and entertainment. I keep Facebook for checking on my large family - it's used as the main sharing tool. And i have email. Even then- i feel i time waste a bit!
People in the USA are lucky that they can go abroad and still receive disability payments - she could do her own tiktok channel about moving, settling living in Thailand and be the main character of her own movie
I'm the same age, permanently single, and with a chronic illness. I work full-time and she's right that it's tough when you don't know how you'll be from day to day. I have a lot of anxiety about screwing up or letting people down in work or due to health problems.
I am sorry to hear that Samantha. I am sure you have hobbies, think about how potentially you could monetize those, that could be a source of happiness 😊
Yes, but a healthy-bodied person working is not the same as someone who has MS. MS affects one’s mind and body to a degree that one doesn’t know if they will be able to get out of bed or what will work or what will not that day. It’s truly a disabling disease. She’s so cheery and happy sounding talking about it but it’s pretty serious.
Some may say she's making excuses but I empathise greatly. Disabled - 51 - Not technology savvy, even for basic operations it's a huge ask. I'm really wishing Summer the best. She is in a really difficult spot.
Disappointing at the end when in the follow up call, she admitted to not even taking the simplest steps. Could easily reduce the phone bill, take the monthly payment and use for pet insurance. I do not believe that any human of sound mind currently in their early 50s is unable to use the Internet, whether from a laptop, desktop, tablet, or the computer/telephone in their pocket. Those two tasks could also be completed over the phone.
She doesn’t need credit. She will Never need to buy a home or car at this age and earning so little on disability. Her situation isn’t all that bleak if she can cut her bills and put money away each month for the next 15 years. So sad about her terminal Illness but I imagine if she goes off disability her insurance will cost a lot.
I understand Summer has MS but it doesn't seem she's going to take Romain's recommendations seriously. She hasn't changed her cell phone charges, she hasn't looked into a pet insurance, she hasn't looked for any other job... She said herself she used to fantasize and she's continuing to fantasize. I hope her dog will not require an expensive vet care in the future. The roommate shouldn't be paying for Summer's dog vet bills. It's time to wake up!
Summers abusive upbringing must have contributed to her lack of reality in planning for life goals but at some point people have to face them. This made me sad for her. Great job guiding her with compassion Romain. ❤
I'm glad that Romain tried to challenge her to get out of her comfort zone. She thinks that she's unemployable without experience but she doesn't sound like she's made much of an effort (created a resume with relevant experience, applied to jobs teaching English). She seems sort of stuck in a victim mindset with black or white thinking. I hope she gets unstuck and starts to have hope for her life. She could increase her quality of life if she does make the changes Romain suggested.
I always knew something was up with those videos about being kind to strangers were staged on Tik Tok, TH-cam and Facebook. Even the ones where they are “rescuing” animals
I just finished watching another creator's finance audit and watching your video was a nice change. You're so respectful and compassionate and you can tell that you really want to help. Thank you!
I think if she slims down her budget so she can save, gets on a housing waitlist (since she can still sporadically work), and picks up some hobbies/per diem work that bring her joy the future can still look bright for her. MS is no joke-- it's a devastating condition. Loved this epidosde and I'm wishing her all the best!
Summer has expected someone to take care of her. In her youth her father. Then the government. If she could not make the effort to make 2 phone calls to get a better rate or get pet insurance she is not making an effort. She can't blame the MS. Why in the world did she get on the show?? for exposure ? interesting
I think you are being too hard on her. She obviously has limited intelligence and capabilities. Add to that a abusive childhood. She needs someone like senior services to walk her through her challenges or perhaps some kind of a conservatorship. It's not a matter of effort, she just has no clue where to even get started. I feel sorry for her.
I lol'd at the update at the end. Yeah, she ain't going to do it. But it seems like she is a survivor regardless. I don't know how those people make it, but somehow they do. Getting along with roommates seems to go a long way though.
Summer could also benefit from connecting with a local social services to help get her cell phone cost lowered and connect her with job training for disabled.
That was sad, poor Summer coming from a dysfunctional home with an abusive mother (as she states in the video), and never realised that it was the source of her low self motivation her whole life, waiting for things to happen and never having a real spark to take her destiny into her hands. Living with an abusive parent is very damaging mentally, and it lasts forever if one does not do some self recovery. She seems very sweet, and I agree with Romain that she would probably be a nice English teacher, working from home. I am not sure how she can take her life into her hands at this point though, but maybe Romain will be able to kick back some life and motivation in her. I hope so 💟
It is never too late.. whatever your age, never ever ever give up ... A better life starts now.... Celebrate even the tiniest win.... It is never too late to have a better life... NEVER GIVE UP ..
@@itsRomainFaure I feel if someone fails to take action by the first follow-up, change is unlikely. Between the interview and first follow-up, the plan is fresh in your mind, you have an adrenaline boost and support. That fades over time, making change much harder.
Romain, you did a wonderful job with this woman. I can only imagine how tough it is to find positive and constructive recommendations for someone who is over the age of 50, in such a terrible financial situation, and coping with a serious illness. I really do hope she is able to find the initiative to take your advice. She has an extremely sad future ahead of her if she doesn't make serious changes ASAP. Best of luck to her.
Romain, Summer is hesitant to live outside of the united states since she's ill, her roomate provides some companionship and security. I know they speak English in Thailand, it will be a colture shock for Summer. Focus on potential work in the United States. Mint mobile will be a better option. Their are plenty of resources in her local town that can match her up with skills. Summer take advantage of the resources.
I think the Thailand option was to plsnt a seed that there are better alternatives out there financially. She wouldn't be going immediately. She needs to take action in the US first - call phone company, apply for jobs, enquire re pet insurance, save money...
it's easy to be critical when we're on the outside looking in. You can be empathetic without enabling or making excuses for someone. I truly wish her well, it can get better. And her voice---was like I was iback in Upper East Side in my nana's brownstone
As someone who lived in South east Asia, Europe and ME, I really liked how you opened her mind to moving, as a way of giving her hope and setting her up in a place that she'll be financially worry free, it was bold and mature, I would have done the same thing. Sure, she's very naive, she is responsible for her own situation but you could see she's a good person...
On the videos, if they were actually giving her the $100 I would feel a little differently about it. The fact that she seems quite nice and really does need money, and they are pretending to be giving money to someone nice and needy, but then they are paying her less than they pretend to give her in the skit . . . that's just really bad.
It's so fake, it's even fake money! She sees it as an acting job which is the career she wants, but i would be hesitant to take part in something that was pretending to be a real show.
throwing this out for people in her situation or has family in her situation- contact your state's dept of aging and disability services---they can help with job placement. (sometimes. Some employers get tax credit to hire older or disabled folks)
She says she can't work a job requiring week after week regular commitmentndue to MS, so.... it's illogical for her to think she is going to make it in movies, and no one is going to employ an over 50s on disability for a movie i wouldn't think - it's just not a good employee prospect . I've had disability and it's very challenging, but over time did things to help myself even when it was very hard.
With SSI, she can't live outside the U.S. Also, there's a limit on how much she can earn with extra income without having her benefits reduced and she can't have more than $2000 in her Bank account or total assets. It's a different story if she was on SSDI. They are different benefits.
Oof. This must have been a tough one for you. I could see her blank out when you would give her recommendations. I think it was all asking too much of her and I'm pretty sure she just came on your show for screen time.
Summer is a great example of what happens when someone chooses to let life happen to them. She has some genuine trauma and health issues that were out of her control, but to have spent decades always assuming life will just magically work out with little to no effort is a formula for failure. And to accept a defeatist attitude to excuse why you "can't" or "don't want to" do something only compounds on that. I think the most important skillset to have in adulthood is learning how to plan effectively, dust yourself off when things don't go how you want, and attacking the issue a different way rather than giving up. I am really rooting for her, but, at this point, whether she makes real progress is a matter of self-motivation. I genuinely hope that she is able to find that drive within her (probably through therapy intervention) because she deserves to live and be happy.
Well said. I'm 66 and have quite a few health challenges - yet am in tbe midst of organising a move - hopefully to another city that will suit me better. If I don't get on and do it, I could be stuck here compromising in a place I don't really like for the rest of my life.
You’re freaking kidding me… those are fake skits?! And they couldn’t even give her the full $100, what a slap in the face. I’m unfollowing all of those people
She should live in Panama or Costa Rica, there is a lot of expats and people still do Tik Toks videos😊. I feel sad for her, i hope she gets motivation that she needs.
Idk if her moving out of the country will help her. She doesn't seem motivated and very delusional. MS is an excuse for her financial situation. She was 40 when she was diagnosed and had $0 at forty. Disability or not she here bc this is all she has worked for. I would hate for her to get over there and not budget her money and be broke and not know how to go out and make money. She needs to find a man to take care of her. I think that is her best chances.
I recorded another video the other day and at the end I asked the person if they were willing to go with my recommendations and they said there is a 20% chance they will. Unfortunately not all situations will turn out positive :( and I’m ok with that. At least for a moment I was able to bring another perspective to their story and situation
I don’t think she doesn’t have it in her to make a big move to Thailand, it’s not to criticize her, but the way she has been all her life, she probably doesn’t have the character and drive to do it. I think she’s better off staying in the US but apply for anything free in the US. She has to cut down on the $50/ month for haircuts or perm…and other things she can save on. Get a cheaper plan on her phone. I wish her the best. She can survive in the US.
The internet works on clicks and people will do anything to generate click money. Getting tricked into fake videos is something we all should avoid. If it's too good to be true, maybe it is. The thread I see in this video is she has no hobbies. This can give her a path to skills that can make more money. If for example she could knit and sell at a farmers market and online. This could lead to her running an online store and expanding it to sell more products. I wish her the best of luck. Her problems are bad but others with larger problems, have overcome their problems and enjoy life.
Given she wants to be an actor and isn't motivated or confident enough to apply for a job, a volunteer position with customer service, admin or theatre could be a start.
I also agree. It is a waaaay too big move for someone like her.
I really love Romain’s approach, even handed and compassionate. ❤
I appreciate! Thank you :)
It says it all when she said ‘but if I move to Thailand my TV and Movie career will be over’ the dream was over decades ago.
Unfortunately Summer is still living in that dream, which is great! but shouldn't be her main priority for the next couple of decisions she will have to make!

This has literally spiked up my anxiety more than ever since I'm unemployed right now, on purpose, while looking for a better job/career. But at least I have a good support system, I'm married to a very stable and supportive man.
Sometimes it is OK to take the time to make the right decision. I am confident you will make the right move :)

Thank you so much for your loyal support!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, you are raising an interesting perspective!
I feel having her on here is a little unfair. It appears that she has more problems than what is being said. My heart goes out to her.
This whole interview is all of what was provided to me during our discussion
I feel with some of the people who come on here are doing it to publicise themselves- to just be on a video, not to change anything in their lives.
Sadly, this one seems so.
Summer, you need to ACT like you have more confidence and energy than you currently display to the world. You’re acting like an extra in your own life, you need to find your main-character energy!
This poor lady never felt real love is really sad to hear that she’s lonely.
Solid Comment! Great analysis !
Ugh I saw that update coming but it’s worse than I thought :( A lot of “I’ll do it” and not a lot of doing.
Fair comment!
Bravo -- vos solutions proposées étaient très créatifs!
Merci bien Adrienne :)
SSI and social security disability payments are two different programs. If she is on SSI {and mediciad} she will lose that if she moves out of the country. If she is getting social security disability she can still receive it. Any savings account or work could also count against the SSI resource limit.
My apologies for the confusion, Summer is on SSDI
Thank you for sharing your thoughtful analysis! Interesting read Lisa
My apologies for the confusion here we are looking at SSDI
Cripes. I relate. Hang in there Summer.
Excellent insights !
Yes I still feel furious about this situation!
Romain should sell patience pills 💊 Compassion and empathy and helpful pills too. I think they're currently on the market labeled Smarties but they're not nearly as amazing as Romain 🏅
This comment definietely made me smiler :( Thank you for the kind words
She currently lives in Las Vegas - and good point on the medication I am not positive about that
I just saw a short video of cops giving her gifts, terminal cancer living out of her car. what is the story here.
What did you think of it? :)
Thanks for this video!!! It’s very helpful.
Thank you for trusting me with your time!
Hope she follows Romains advice! She seems stuck, I think it’s her mindset. She can have a good life in Thailand if she would take steps to make it happen.
Only time will tell if she makes it happen!
Dang these companies are taking advantage of this sweet soul! 😢That’s terrible!

You are NOT helping them
Yes the deception for TikTok Skits rubbed me the wrong way ...
Summer should do research on Carnivore diet, people with MS have seen huge benefits. All the best to you. Give it a try.....
Romain I so agree with you being angry at the staged skits
Unfortunately she is living in a fantasy (her words)
Unfortunately ...
bless her heart. she's only justifying the skit job because she needs it. considering her own circumstances, she isn't bothered or concerned with the fakeness of it all. best we can do is call out the BS in the comment sections of that type of content.
Pretty much! and this is why one of my core value for this channel is 100% REAL - I am tired of all of other platforms BS ...
She can even come to Cape Town and live well!
SSI there is a catch, earning too much and she will loose it. She should look into SSDI if she qualify and have medical proof.
That intro was dramatic but I'm here for it!
Thank you Brittany we are trying different things :)
I don't see or feel that she is motivated. She may be too used to the life she is living and has resigned herself to remaining in that state. She says she's not happy with her life, but too beaten down to want to change.
why did she come on the show? this was just bizarre
Maybe she thought that I would recommend something different?
haha intro went crazy
Did you like it ?

If she is on SSI she cannot get paid if she leaves US. If she is on SSA then she can get paid of we have agreement with that country
Apologies I meant to write SSDI

Can we set up a go fund me page for this woman she should be helped
She reminds me of someone, not sure if is an actress or character but she seems very familiar.
Her voice, Didi Conn Frenchy in Grease
Some advice you have here is plain wrong. People receiving SSI cannot live outside of the US. Social security yes, SSI no. Instead of telling her to negotiate with T-Mobile why not give her a ready to go option like Mint Mobile with is $30/mo for everything she gets with T-Mobile.
@@YM-NY she is on SSDI*
Sextion 8 is not that cheap. The tenant has to make up the difference. Health is everything. You can go so far with good health. She needs support system, to live outside of the USA. Shecannot work in those countries.

I am tired of all those fakes ... and this one rubbed me the wrong way!
Love how he has empathy for people and doesn't belittle them. Life happens and sometimes we can just bottom out. It can happen to everyone.
Romain is the good soul
I’ve only just learned they were fake! 😂
She’s not understanding that people are thinking the charity skits are real. And then, they’re definitely ripping her off with amount they’re giving her.
... no comment, yep :(
I don't think she's bothered - of course she knows and thinksit doesn'tmatter, that it inspires people.
And it's the job that makes her a paid actor - her dream.
I don't think it matters if people think that the skits are real , thats their problem . People think the things they see on telly are real and they are fake . Like romance shows etc , its all fake . The Telly is full to the brim with lies . So who cares .
Decision making is skill that eludes some people their entire life.
I appreciate the in-depth commentary and sharing your thoughts!
@Claudia-rl1kl Do it. I only have You Tube for about 3 years.
Same here. Closed all social media accounts in 2021. Never looked back.
Same here. I’m tired of the bs.
Waking up suddenly without your vision sounds like a nightmare… my heart goes out to her.
Romain out here helping the world learn about finances one interview at a time 👏
People in the USA are lucky that they can go abroad and still receive disability payments - she could do her own tiktok channel about moving, settling living in Thailand and be the main character of her own movie
Brilliant idea!
Hmm! I like that :)
@@itsRomainFaureRomain please make the suggestion, she can start her own SM sharing her journey even now. Turn it into a strenght.
I would definitely watch this!! I’m very interested in retiring overseas, and it would be SO COOL to follow her journey if she decided to do this
You can take a donkey to the well but you cannot make it drink water! Old proverb
Bless her but she doesn’t have the ambition to want more for herself.
Do you have MS? It will wipe out anyone’s ambition even with a good social support and in a short amount of time.
She got MS at 40. Before that she also had no ambition or want more for herself.
You’re a really good person for helping her and being so patient. Props to you! Not everyone is considerate like this
I appreciate your comment, I take every case as they come and I try my best to find a solution that would work for them!
Some may say she's making excuses but I empathise greatly. Disabled - 51 - Not technology savvy, even for basic operations it's a huge ask. I'm really wishing Summer the best. She is in a really difficult spot.
also a difficult upbringing that makes her have low confidence and get lost in dreams - she needs therapy
@@dirty-motoit seems to be a huge mental barrier. She had difficulty even following the conversation with Romain. Sad state of affairs.
Theres tons of people who are even 40 who cant. Dont be suprised, most people arent tech savvy or even tech adequate. @@dirty-moto
She doesn’t need credit. She will
Never need to buy a home or car at this age and earning so little on disability. Her situation isn’t all that bleak if she can cut her bills and put money away each month for the next 15 years. So sad about her terminal
Illness but I imagine if she goes off disability her insurance will cost a lot.
I hear your points
Summers abusive upbringing must have contributed to her lack of reality in planning for life goals but at some point people have to face them. This made me sad for her. Great job guiding her with compassion Romain. ❤
Thank you for your loyal support, your comments have been very fun to read :)
Romain, I felt the same emotion when she mentioned those videos are staged! Those videos seem so real..how sad
I am still furious about it yes ...
Of course it is fake. People who are actually doing good deeds don't film it and put it on Tik Tok to be monetized.
Same
This one is so sad. I feel like there are problems and issues here we don't know about. I hope she will be okay.
Yes there must be more to the story!
Yep ... I am really hoping Summer can get back on her feet, I am working to help her out get some form of Certificate right now.
I always knew something was up with those videos about being kind to strangers were staged on Tik Tok, TH-cam and Facebook. Even the ones where they are “rescuing” animals
Animals too ... wow ... how far have we become!
Yes, i don't watch them anymore at all - i don't want to see fake stuff and the animal ones are horrible as they stress & hurt the animals.

Good point!
@@itsRomainFaure she is probably eligible for a free phone and plan from the government
I hope so 💟
I am hoping she is able to re-ignite the lost fire :(

I must say ... this interview was difficult because I would try to reignite the flame in Summer
Yes, Mint Mobile!
I think this is a very fair comment!

Exactly! It’s like they wave it in front of her face, and are like “JK” we will take that back here’s some pocket change good luck

probably worth mentioning since she disclosed that she's on ssi---you can't have more than 2k in savings or assets or you can be cut your benefits
Good point however in the case of Summer we are working with SSDI (Social Security Disability) that doesn’t limit how much you can have in the bank.

@@JoJo-ie8sl he said SSI and put it on the screen. I don't think he knows the difference
Its sad she just lives a life of delusion with trying to make it big in movies at 51 and not actually trying.
Is pursuing this dream worth progressively degrading her current living situation? I don't think so right now
She says she can't work a job requiring week after week regular commitmentndue to MS, so.... it's illogical for her to think she is going to make it in movies, and no one is going to employ an over 50s on disability for a movie i wouldn't think - it's just not a good employee prospect .
I've had disability and it's very challenging, but over time did things to help myself even when it was very hard.
There’s no hope for movies. It’s very hard work that she can’t do. Being realistic is hard. I know it.
With SSI, she can't live outside the U.S. Also, there's a limit on how much she can earn with extra income without having her benefits reduced and she can't have more than $2000 in her Bank account or total assets. It's a different story if she was on SSDI. They are different benefits.
Sorry for the confusion - in her case we are working with SSDI.
She would be able to maintain benefits, with no limitations on savings
Oh okay! I thought she had SSI
I'm actually glad she has SSDI! Wish her the best!
This makes me so nervous but it definitely has woken me up. I own my house, have 301 k and 50 k in savings. This has truly woken me up for my savings
Oof. This must have been a tough one for you. I could see her blank out when you would give her recommendations. I think it was all asking too much of her and I'm pretty sure she just came on your show for screen time.
This one was a difficult one to drive I would say yes
She'd be a good SNL actor. She has old school SNL energy
I think this is probably one of the best comment on this video! I very much agree with your assessment!
Well said. I'm 66 and have quite a few health challenges - yet am in tbe midst of organising a move - hopefully to another city that will suit me better.
If I don't get on and do it, I could be stuck here compromising in a place I don't really like for the rest of my life.
Harsh. Everyone is different.
You’re freaking kidding me… those are fake skits?! And they couldn’t even give her the full $100, what a slap in the face. I’m unfollowing all of those people
I am still furious about it ...
Why get advice from Romain if you are not going to make the required changes?
I recorded another video the other day and at the end I asked the person if they were willing to go with my recommendations and they said there is a 20% chance they will. Unfortunately not all situations will turn out positive :( and I’m ok with that. At least for a moment I was able to bring another perspective to their story and situation
Great video. Real people. I hope the best for Summer. I feel she has giving up or a type of person who hopes on luck.
I hope so too
I don’t think she doesn’t have it in her to make a big move to Thailand, it’s not to criticize her, but the way she has been all her life, she probably doesn’t have the character and drive to do it. I think she’s better off staying in the US but apply for anything free in the US. She has to cut down on the $50/ month for haircuts or perm…and other things she can save on. Get a cheaper plan on her phone. I wish her the best. She can survive in the US.
Going to be adding Thailand or Mexico to my future plans ... I have none of her reservations.
Yes! worth considering for sure!
Good thoughts on HOBBIES!
Given she wants to be an actor and isn't motivated or confident enough to apply for a job, a volunteer position with customer service, admin or theatre could be a start.
