Don't apologize for talking too much because your genuine care for both dogs and their owners comes through bigtime. I'm unfortunately, one that has a young dog that's stronger than I am, and that's because I've had rotties in the past, and I love them, but this little miss is intense, and so, your advice is invaluable, thankyou.

I was especially impressed by how useful play can be in teaching "no." It became very clear to me.

Larry you showed me a guy who was thinking he could use markers. Obviously, that guy couldn't. You said "use your marker" and the dog did not react to the marker. I'll never forget that lesson.

Where can I get one of those? yes I have too much dog. But I love him and I’m trying to step up and give him what he needs - the ability to respond to commands when in a heightened state, trust me and have fun. Thanks Larry I always learn so much from your videos!

Ive had Belgians for 30+ years. Im horrified by all the pet people who are getting Malinois. The club is swamped with rescues from people who were in over their head. I wish people would do more research before they got a dog.

Love your content. I’ve never had any issues with my dogs, Cane Corso, Boerboel, GSD, Doberman, and a mutt. Have trained shelter dogs on 2 continents. I still always learn something from your videos. I appreciate you and what you’re doing for our friends.

It's pretty depressing when you begin to realize just how underutilized play is with dogs, especially in my experience with dogs like pit bulls. If I had some change every time I heard that someone doesn't play tug with their pit because "it'll make them aggressive" I'd be filthy rich by now. I know multiple people with pits and pit mixes that are essentially crazy because they don't go outside (can't be walked safely) and they don't get to play competitively or fulfill their desire for conflict in any way.

    A question:
For me it's a difference to stop a dog by wanting doing something and by doing something ...
But i didn't find videos for these difference actions ...
'Leave it' or 'no' for being in action to do something ...
But what is if he (or she) does already do the thing he should not (sniffling, fighting what ever, eating something) ...?

i got a question about markets while you were telling (if possible):
is it ok to use the same marker e.g. Yes for both food/calm reward and the release to bite the tug? so a dog won't associate this release of burst of energy with the word? e.g. using Yes for both tug and walking the city street when a dog passes by a person and looks back at you so you want to reinforce that for example?
if you could tell your thoughts about that please

Roadie is quite the ball of energy. I imagine having that yanking on a tug you have to try and hold onto would get tiring real fast. Pretty cool to watch.
Correct me if im wrong but some of what youre saying is , the rules/boundaries instilled during play essentially carry over to normal everyday life, walks etc if communication is solid with play?

So I missed how to build one or buy one. This would be perfect for me and my working line GSD. I can never last long enough for him! Anyone with knowledge of how to make one would be greatly appreciated!

I bought one of these for my pocket bully. He is only interested if I’m holding the pole. If I set it on the base he will play alone for maybe 30 seconds. Any ideas to keep him motivated.

I have an Australian shepherd. She is so energetic, and I only have 20 minutes extra to try to walk or get her to do something each day, I wish I had a farmer friend who could take her each day and put her to work, lol but she is doing well though

10 minutes of productive play will be more valuable than an hour of unproductive walking

My family and I rescued a cattle dog from the pound. So cute as a puppy but full of energy. Nipped our 5 year old son the first day we got her (nothing serious) but we did realize this dog was going to be a handful unlike our last Boxer which was incredibly calm and kind. Australian shepherds and cattle dogs alike have a very high prey drive; she took a lot of training and a great dog walker we hired for the first 2 years. It took her till about 4 years old until she settled...Kaya is now very calm and kind with our family and is a great dog, but it took a long time.

I have a American akita pup ,i spent a lot time every day with here ,she is extremely fast learning, but olso extremely stubborn 😊 i olso go to dog school with here ,and you know what 2 owners ask me,they ask me how long can your puppy left alone because we both have to work al week! I say if you are working both al week ,you shouldn't take a dog! I feel already said for that dog
