AAAAAAAAAAA THIS IS SO COOL! I only now realized just how many character-specific things Lawl Beatdown has, being all put into the same video, and I think it's great to finally see the effects of all of them. For starters, the cutscenes in-between each segment were a highlight. It's always really fun to see these characters interact and these shorter clips were just as fun as the longer story sequences. Gary's reaction to Mark's... interesting taste and PBG trying to open the Smash Ball were the highlights for me. But yeah, the extras here were a delight! I loved the different computers in all of the artstyles for Karkat (and the telegram. Dan's from the 40's after all), all of the sprite portraits of the characters for Strong Bad and the recaps of the lives of all of the characters with the doctors (with special mention to using the FS to themselves and YOU CAN'T JUST USE THAT SONG WITH CHARA I ALMOST CRIED QWQ). I was also pleasantly surprised to see all of the dancing animations (Voldemort vs. Toon Sora vs. Mr. Six, who wins the Dance Off?) and their reactions to the Two Trucks, as I don't think anyone's shown all of them before. But Dan's cars were my favorite extra for sure. I'm glad you decided to give the STEAL IT gimmick to all of the characters because the idea of Dan riding Tsunderplane is what dreams are made of. ...and yeah I have to bring up the big elephant in the room. I LOVED that you dedicated a segment of the video to Animals and Art. Seeing my characters interact with yours in the cutscenes was super heartwarming and I was specially fangirling with all of the fun pairings that you came up with for the unforgettable luncheon (I even noticed that the Crystal Gems and the SeHas were sitting together!). And you nailed the choices for the actual animals and art that you picked for every single character here. Long Cat was my favorite. But yeah, I think that's all I gotta say and- BRIAN LOOK OUT! 🐶🚗
Seeing all of these extras for the fighters was very cool, I like some of the details like with seeing Dan Backslide's outcome for Karkat's FS being the telegram deliverer speaking to him instead of a computer is an awesome touch! The same goes for the different outcomes for Watts and Rosalene's FS if they use them on a certain fighter, plus the different vehicles Dan Backslide can steal, and Frisk's different ACT actions for each character are also really nice. And of course, it's great seeing the Animals and Art for the Beatdown cast plus the interaction with Skinner and Ozpin leading to to that (as well as Yzma and Kronk in the kitchen cooking up another scheme)!
Its so cool seeing other Lawls do extras and other fun content like this, I loved all the animal forms and art! The Awakening critical hits were the best thing to ever happen, all the quotes sound like they'd be so hype in a real match. The skits between each sgement were also really adorable (GARY MARK NOOOO)
This was honestly a great extras video! I've always liked character based moves, so it was fun seeing various devices being used in Karkat's final smash (Dan Backslides being my favourite, feeling like something out of a TH-cam Poop) and the memory eraser (with some fighters getting their own unique music, especially Chara's). All the shorts featuring the cast were hilarious to, with the major standout being, of course, the crossover with Lawl Nova. It was great seeing both casts interact, with all the seated pairings making sense, and the pictures of the Lawl headmasters, showing us how far Lawl spinoffs have grown. Can't wait to see more of Beat down in the future.
this is really good man. i loved how in walt’s and rosaliene’s final smash they notice im both viola and ellen’s memories that something is wrong i hope the lore mentions this. i also loved how they show which memories they turn static for each character ae mentioned in beatdownbound and vriska’s moveset that certain memories are static for each character. overall very solid stuff
Wonderful to get these back in some form. As much as I love seeing completely new things from completely new characters, it's equally great and refreshing to see old characters and previously touched on ideas blossom once again with the beatdown creative touch. Good GOD, I was not expecting to see an Extras video with a runtime of 20 minutes. Very awesome stuff! Really does show how much miscellaneous content there is in Beatdown aside from the standard extra lawl animations, (Idles, Dancing & Attractiveness) and speaking of those, it was hella awesome to see those three final smashes receive huge glow-ups, with my favourite being Karkat's, with all the unique computer / mobile phone exploding animations. The mini lore skits did not need to be included, but as always you went out of your way to make em and were both charming and hilarious to watch. Does this mean Brian Griffin is confirmed for Beatdown? /j It was also awesome seeing Beatdown and Nova finally cross-over!!! Two of the biggest lawl spin-offs out there who've inspired countless others to create their own spinoffs! All the animal and art canvas choices were perfect, wish we could've seen what Joel's MS Paintings were like for the Beatdown cast, but I'm assuming that'll be saved for another volume. And to put the cherry on top of the cake, you did not have to go all out with the Stats spreadsheet! I really appreciate how much work went into the presentation, and also considering other lawl exclusive stats, like Trejo's Hate list, Weiss' feeling effects, and Codec Snake's & Scratch Cat's Neutral B (thanks btw for including that :D )
Now this is what I call creativity, some favorites of mine are, The telegram for Dan in Karkat's FS is the smartest thing I've seen in a while, after knowing what happens in the Witches House, that dialog with Watts and Rosalene makes a lot of sense Of course Matt has an air hump animation, And the Lawl Nova segment in general.
Well Well Well,good to see some more stuff from Beatdown,the crossover with Lawl Nova(and the cameo from OG Lawl) make a curious mind out of me concerning other crossovers, Strong Bad and Karkat's FS improvements were my favorite.
This video is purely fantastic, no other way to put it! I greatly enjoyed the updates to Strong Bad and Watts and Rosalenes final smash and the unique cutscene, visuals, and Dialogue across those, as well as Karkats Final Smash, Frisks ACT, Dans Vehicles, all topped with wonderful animation. And I’m SO hyped you crossed over with Lawl Nova for some Animals and Art that were both very entertaining to see. Pair that with the hilarious intermission cutscenes and Outro, and you have my favorite supplement of yours. Great job as always Shad, you have me hyped for more Lawl Beatdown content further down the line.

aaaaaa this was all so good!!!! my personal favorite has gotta be the final smash cut ins, always been a huge fan of stuff like that in games. The Nova stuff was also a super neat surprise! That was an awesome little surprise! I am especially a fan of the little cutscenes you included and the crossover with Lawl Nova. Interesting to see Skinner apparently leads Lawl Nova, I don't recall if this has ever been established before. And I love how Sollux is now on the staff, mostly just so he and Aradia can hang still. Eh, I almost forgot you were planning on doing this! Well, I was definitely looking forward to seeing these Fighter Extras, and as always, you don't disappoint. The Final Smash updates were very fun. I particularly loved Dan's MDR being a telegram since Dan didn't have technology back then like the others. I also loved the Memory flashbacks. Watts & Rosalene's effects on themselves were unexpected though. And Chara's being the actual flashback was a nice touch, as was the Viola/Ellen flashback. And I loved the Frisk ACT mechanics and Dan's rival shouts/vehicles. Lol, Dan even hates himself. 😛 The extra Nova stuff was fun too, although I was surprised you didn't include Joel's Bob Ross Art. Still, I liked what I saw, and I loved the Grimoire Weiss cameo at the end. Also poor Jesse. 🙁
