- Crowded House… We are a band that was supposed to be on stages very soon in Europe and beyond, but has now accepted the new reality. However housebound, we are still seeking connection. So, in the meantime, the internet provides a chance to play a few of our songs for you, that seems most welcome and joyous, a good way to rehearse and perform, send some best wishes out your way.

Is there an award for Best Lock-down Musical Performance - yet ?
One of the signs of great songwriting is the vibrancy that can be breathed into every rendering, no matter how many times or how many ways the band plays it. I love this production cause it strips off much of the goopiness that was typical of 80's recordings - and the tune comes off strong as ever.
... And the award goes to: Crowded House !!

Amazing! His voice still sounds as fresh as it did back in my Catholic High days. His music always made me feel happy! 🎵🎶✌🏼

Will never forget the evening back in 1986 when I dropped some of my hard-earned money on the debut Crowded House CD and headed back to my dorm room to give it a listen! Whoa - who are these guys...??!!! Little did I know at the time that I would grow old(er) listening to their music.....🎶

Coming from California in the late 70s and seeing Split Enz in a NZ pub, and then years later, able to see CH local there, was truly a special treat. as in Never Forget.

Yes sir, ol Dave will always be missed. I watched Dave a long long time, back in dump bars in Richmond when he was with a group called Death Piggy. Even went to his final send off when they burned his costume on a lake kinda like a viking farewell. Gwar will *NEVER* be Gwar again.

Mr. Neil Finn and company, I'm a 60's, 70's generation but you guys stood apart from many 80's bands. Your voice is and always was excellent and the harmonies were always and is outstanding. Top singers and song writers by far!!! You all have written some beautiful songs and I surely hope you're proud of that because you should be. So well done!!!

Neil family and friends how wonderful to wake up to this. Reminds me of when I lived in Neutral Bay Sydney on the harbour across from the Opera House and could hear every now and then a Crowded House song. How i wish I'd been there for that amazing concert.

same here! was a college student on board a ship for a 24 hour trip to the city of my 2nd part of internship. i had my Walkman with me to listen to the tapes to, and CH was on repeat during that boat ride

Neil Finn has been and remains the coolest artist of the 20th and 21st century. Genuine, yet powerful performer. I am now fine spending six months in leaky boat !
This is really well done. Excellent performance. May I ask how you did it? Did you lay down a rhythm track and then everyone added their layer separately? It really has a nice, live feel. In any event, great job ... and really nice original material.

They're tight because they've been playing together *forever*. I saw Split Enz in Toronto and these guys in the UK. IMO its cool to see tight bands play covers too. Train do that - meander in to a bunch of covers. I still want to see them play "I Walk Away" as a nod to social distancing. Do you take requests?

Well, that was fun! Shame the U.K. leg of the tour is postponed until next year. For now, enjoying the live sessions on Mixlr (fangradio) and look forward in anticipation to the new album and vinyl release of Finn, the first album by the Finn bros.

Saw Split Enz live at the Retford Porterhouse (UK) in 1977 and have been a fan ever since - can't believe it's been over 40 years! As others have said, great performances during lockdown - many thanks for keeping our spirits up 😊 (Not *quite* as good as the live gig I was hoping to be at later in the summer, but definitely a good consolation prize!)
A great song is either a great song or it is not. Truth never hides. I briefly met the brothers Finn at a random gig during the Split Enz days (Fresno CA) and I was instantly struck by how nice and genuine the were. I think that we can all take a lesson from that (regardless of whatever it is that we are 'attempting' to do) Real and genuine mixed with some real talent can go very far (in a persons somewhat short lifetime)
How is this done? Really live from all different locations? No lag? My band has been wondering about playing together online but the lag problem is preventing us from doing so.
