He was avoided by friends due to his alcohol problem and poverty. professor Muhammad Sarwar chief editor of Ufaq invited him to write in his weekly / daily. It was early 53-54.He published without deleting anything from his stories. " Ganjay Frishtae was later published was actually stories published in Ufaq. Just see the irony, both Sahir Ludhiavi and Manttu Sahib were born in Ludhiana, both were dead drinkers and opposed partition. But Sahir had to flee from Lahore to Delhi when two two FIRs were lodged against him for his progressive writings and he left Lahore for Delhi. And quite contrary Manttu Sahib had to leave Bombay for Lahore.Both were genius

I was posted in Kashmir Valley. This tiny place about 25 into 80 miles has been and is the most creative place on our planet taking note of her size. Kashmiris are pure Central Asian Aryans majority of them follow Semitic-Islam as well. Physically as well they are formidable. Thus blessed by God in many ways. Thus Mantoo comes as no surprise to me. His ancestors were Kashmiri Bhats (Butt, that is Pandits-Brahmans) who had converted to Islam, Hence Saadat Hasan Manto had a great lineage as well. Thus Mantoo was in no manner a Semite (Yehudi-Arab children of Ibrahim) but reflected the Aryan civilization of Kashmir Valley (Bharat) at Its best.
