You pair deserve a gold medal for completing that very challenging trail. Tip for Stephi , I also get eaten alive by mosquitoes ( especially in France 😂😂) and after getting bitten when asleep on the eye lid so bad I could barely see out of my eye for 3 days ..... I now always wear eye masks at night. Two benefits, first the mosquitoes can't get at my eye lids and second I sleep better for longer as the morning sun rise is blocked out .
OH Wow what a beautiful rock arch . rainy day back packing IS hard but can also Be beautiful at the same time . Cheers For taking this video for all of us on those rainy days . Beautiful trail . Thanks for sharing your adventures and another great side trip . Still Great people in this world every were ,and beautiful landys too. Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :) 🌎🍻😁👍🏼☕️.
Bravo 👍👏😘
Well done guys! Surprised you havent got foot rot! Saw that Stephie's eye got much less swollen after a day or so! Stay safe and beware of bears, especially the brown ones!!
Steph walking out of the trail with all the "war wounds" made me want to hug the TV!!! Leigh, you must have a HUGE bucket list!!! Hopefully the list is getting more fun (less work).
In Leigh's word: Spectacular!! Even though we all are expecting for the right G&B to show up, I hope you don't get face to face to the wrong ones. When I get allergies I use Dimenhydrinate pills, nausea and dizziness as well. Another incredible NatGeo episode with some Aussie and Frenchie spice. ¡¡Pura Vida!!
Hi Stephi and Leigh, I admire your perseverance. No rain and mud can stop you. The same on the Bibulmun trail, or in the Jordanian desert, there it was heat on the day and freezing at night. As most of your viewers I like walking a bit 2h max. But at weather like this I stay at home. I think you have some more crazy things in mind to show us..........😊
You guys (or lady) looked so unhappy, come back to South Africa, no flies and lots of smiles. Well done anyway for such perseverance. It looked like an absolute nightmare
Wonderful series. If you are still working offshore in the spring, and want a break, consider the Yukon. Newfoundland and the Yukon are my top two Canadian destinations for scenery and great people.
I'm surprised not to see art with the fisherman's jacket and boots. The fishing dory's have kind of disappeared with commercial boats being able to net and can. The Hibernia oil field changed things in Newfoundland as well as oil fields in western Canada.
Once you get cold and the surface of the jacket is sodden Goretex will soon get really wet inside even if the jack is still basically waterproof, add in the tape inside the seams coming adrift after a few years , maybe also damage from pack straps etc. and it's not a fun time in really wet weather. I've never found a decent product to renew the water repellency of the outer surface once the original DWR is done, even freshly treated it never lasts a whole trip.
When I did this in my thirties, my mother asked me, "Why do you love the misery?" Today, I can't do this anymore. The older I get, the less motivated I am. Good video.
I haven't traveled nearly as much as you 2 but i have been to NFLD several times. Labrador as well. The world would be a better place if it had more newfoundlanders in it. #NEWFIES.
You got my absolute respect little lady ✊ You are one tuff chick 💪 You rock girl ✊💪 You can sit at my campfire 🔥 any day, Ok you bring your friend to 👍 PS, Did he want to swop a lollypop for your energy bar 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great video and what a incredible hick you both did 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 No more lollipop jokes ok 👍
Why are you doing this for putting yourselves through hell? I love and admire you both, but I feel so bad to see what she is going through. I am currently visiting the Yellowstone national Park in Wyoming with beautiful weather but as soon as the sun goes down it gets so cold feeling miserable! Then I see you two and it makes me wonder. This is very very tough what you are doing kinda like the Ranger training!
@@GrizzlyNbearOverland I understand! Reminds me of when I was young and in Ranger training which was much worse! It changed for the better, but I would never want to go through the same thing again! After having kids, everything changes! I admire you both a lot! Love from California
You could spend your whole life hiking trails in Canada. Canada is Huge. I am worried about your feet. I think you might get trench foot From your feet being wet all the time.
I seriously don’t know how you two stay so positive? I would just stay in a B&B, crack open a wine and look out of the window. Legends!
😂😂😂

Thanks for sharing this hiking experience, I really enjoyed watching every moment of it.
Good luck
Pure dedication. You guys are tough 💪
Steph walking out of the trail with all the "war wounds" made me want to hug the TV!!!
Leigh, you must have a HUGE bucket list!!! Hopefully the list is getting more fun (less work).
Wow, yeah, that was tough! Obviously you have to be really, really adaptable and resilient to be able to take that AND still enjoy it. Great video!
NFLD and NFLDers are awesome! More people should go and appreciate their hospitality and beautiful scenery. 👍
Those flies are tough, that rain would have kept most others indoors 🙂
Well done on another LDP crossed off your list

Bravo à tous les deux. 😚 ❤❤
You guys are going to have so many memories!❤
So glad for the videos. Keeping all those memories so real.
Wonderful series. If you are still working offshore in the spring, and want a break, consider the Yukon. Newfoundland and the Yukon are my top two Canadian destinations for scenery and great people.
Glad to see your life is full of Joy and Happiness ........Not like life right now in the SE USA..... You are very fortunate to be so Wealthy.
I'm surprised not to see art with the fisherman's jacket and boots. The fishing dory's have kind of disappeared with commercial boats being able to net and can. The Hibernia oil field changed things in Newfoundland as well as oil fields in western Canada.
Well done you two…… congratulations on finishing the East Coast….. Wilna from Bellville, Cape Town
Congratilations guys finishing one hell of a hike.
Thank you. It was wonderful.
It must have been awful to put wet shoes back in the morning, you are very brave and we love you even more for that! Take care
😊 Thank you. It’s not pleasant for the few first minutes then it was straight back into water and mud anyway 🤣
Well done guys. Steffy is a tough cookie!

When I did this in my thirties, my mother asked me, "Why do you love the misery?" Today, I can't do this anymore. The older I get, the less motivated I am. Good video.
We love it because of how good is the hot shower and proper bed after that. 😂
My fully respect!!!

There is 3M insect repellent ointment. I recommend it.
Are you having fun yet?

Black bears are like big raccoons... ot really dangerous in my experience
When are you going to do the West Coast trail?
Hey ! How long is the WCT ? We dream to do a super long trail one day but won't be possible for a while. (work)
You guys are weapons
You could spend your whole life hiking trails in Canada. Canada is Huge. I am worried about your feet. I think you might get trench foot
From your feet being wet all the time.
Steph your poor skin. Can't you wear flyers, balaclava or something? Maybe take some sort of antihistamines. Worried for you my love 😘😘😘😘
Mosquito net not flyers
