Would it be possible for you to upload it to youtube? I used to have it on video tape but unfortunately it was lost. Would be awesome to watch this again!
Like @John Doe said.... I remember recording this unplugged concert when it came on and I wish I could find the VHS (not that I could actually play it). Of all the amazing songs that Jewel recorded this is by far my favorite song she ever recorded. I fell in love with it from the first notes. It was never her most popular song but it is the best song she ever recorded IMO. I sure wish there was an actual "visual" video as I would love to watch it once more. I remember replaying this song over and over. But... at the very least we get to hear the original recording from 1997.
The best versions of her early work was always way better before the recording studios got ahold of it and tried to make it more "upbeat". This version of LDR is easily in my top 5 favorites of her work.
she had full control of all of her albums. they sound how they sound because that's how she wanted them to sound. in case you weren't aware. her contract gave her 100 percent control
I played this tune the most off the MTV Unplugged VHS recording I had back in 97. I wish I could find that tape
I think this may be the only vid of this version of the song on TH-cam, so thank you!!!

Anyone have the original flower song?
and Marital Carnival
Last Dance Rodeo
Jewel
Your lungs fill up with concrete
Her voice is all you can hear
Red lips and a screwdriver
Wrapped around some mink-clad hair
And you know that she's no diamond
In this damn jukebox hell
'Cause only fools call fools fools
In two-bit hotels
But she's cooler than all that
A real high-class cat
Queen of the last dance rodeo
Under the gas lamp
The air is thick and velvety
Your bones fill with hunger
Your heart fills with longing
You're no longer human
You're an insatiable hole
You wanna bury your face forever
In the navel of her soul
'Cause you know
You need is a heart to call home
You need is a heart to call home
That's all
Light bulbs, and nylons
And plastic chandeliers
Objects are only objects
They can't feel when you're near
But tangerine lips
And lily-white breasts
These things are eternal
Inside them humanity rests
The skin is like a seashell
You listen to the soul
Like an old-time radio show
'Cause under the gas lamp
The air is thick and velvety
Your bones fill with hunger
Your heart fills with longing
You're no longer human
You're an insatiable hole
You wanna bury your face forever
In the navel of her soul
'Cause you know
You need is a heart to call home
You need is a heart to call home
That's all.
Don't wander too far
My one constant star
Darkness exists, except where you are
My feet are filled with wandering
They follow your own
'Cause everywhere you are
Feels like home
Search all you miners
You hunters of dreams
Look in the alleyways
For what you know is not what it seems
And fame, all you maidens
But don't resist too long
At least you look behind you
And see your own shadow is gone
Don't you know it's the last rodeo
You find yourself a cowboy
Or someone to keep you
Warm when it's cold
'Cause under the gas lamp
The air is thick and velvety
Your bones fill with hunger
Your heart with longing
You're no longer human
You're an insatiable hole
You wanna bury your face forever
In the navel of her soul
'Cause you know
You need is a heart to call home
We need is a heart to call home
Yeah
All you need is
All you need is
All you need is a heart
That's all
That's all
