- How to extract DEM and Orthomosaic from Scanned Analog Aerial Photographs using Agisoft Metashape. Scanning resolution plays important roles to the output DEM quality, so pay attention on this aspect if you want to employ this techniques.

It helped a lot, thanks.
Very welcome
hello, very thanks for your video, but a question? you define mask area for every photo but you are not apply it in Align Photo dialog box parameter (advanced sub menu)???
it is automatically applied, or else, we will get some artifacts, you can try it by yourself to make sure about it,
Hi, i followed your tutorial step by step, the only thing i did differently was i manually added the values of my fiducial points because i have them, im working with GEOTEC images from 1998, but it wont aline them, it say process completed but then it shows 0/2 photos aligned. Do you have any idea what could be happening?
Did you really know the ground coordinates of the fiducial points? If you are not, that is the problem, if you only have the fiducial coordinates in pixels and in milimeters based on printed aerial photographs dimension, you better doing it in dedicated metric photogrammetry software such as ENVI, erdas imagine ortho maker, pci geomatica ortho engine, or BAE Socet Set.
Thanks for the video. But why was your mm/pixel value half of the website resolution? 0.0423 instead of 0.084667
That is because I know the exact resolution of the imagery being used
@@GEO2004 okay. Focal length over Flight ✈️ height right?
Hi, thanks for this video. Did you georeference the images before using them? I can get up the the phase of building the Dense Point Cloud, but then it won't let me build the DEM or Orthomosaic (both unclickable). Any idea what could be the issue?
No, the georeferencing is included when I do the ground control points input,
About the orthomosaic greyed out, have you set the output map projection from references pane? Maybe that is the culprit.
@@GEO2004 Thanks for your reply. I didn't set output map projection, but I did now and that doesn't change anything... Any other ideas?
You must repeat all the process from the start, only this time set the map projection before doing alignment
Hello, where is a video about how to set the GCP?
here is an example th-cam.com/video/sC1j490OdKs/w-d-xo.html
Hola muy bien!! gracias por el video!! Puedes compartir los datos de las imagenes y la de los puntos de control por favor para hacer el ejercicio? Gracias!!
I am sorry, I can't share the data because of the sharing restriction policy from my source. But some of the U.S agency are sharing their database, maybe you can get samples from them. Maybe your country also have those aerial photographs repository which should be free access to their citizens
@@GEO2004 Hola muchas gracias por su amabilidad y respuesta. Saludos
No genera nada con mis imagenes, los valores de las marcas ficuciales no coinciden con los de la camara.
try to supply additional information such as focal length in camera calibration if you have any information about it, if you don't have it, make sure you correctly set the scanning resolution.
If you don't mind, You can also send me a pair of aerial photographs, information about scanning resolution in DPI unit, and an AOI in shp/kml format of the area covered by the aerial photos to mappingsince2004@gmail.com, I would be happy to check the data for you.
Can we explore voids and caves underground
What do you mean?
@@GEO2004 i mean the human spaces underground through gis programs
Yes as long as the data support it
@@GEO2004 Can you mention the programs used?
Every gis program can do it, arcgis, qgis, manifold, geomedia, autocad, etc
