I have collected beads for many years. They represent to me a true and infinite wonder. I make necklaces and find my inspiration in the limitless imagination of African artisans. I will never have enough of them and I will never tire of looking for them.

6:55 These Okata beads, and Africans as a whole, originate from Ancient Egypt. Egyptians called these beads Shebyu. They have the same disk-like shape and were most often yellow (or blue). Many Hebrew Egyptian rulers wore Shebyu and gave them as gifts, including Moses (Ahmosis), Joshua (Djeserkare) and Heber (Horemheb). Kroboland beadmakers are preserving a tradition that goes back thousands of years.

I would like to paint a bead after bead making process is done, and take bead with me. Is that possible?
