@@gregzotter6189 I agree. By today’s standards, they could’ve been great, but nowadays, they are here for fanservice (and sometimes to act like short-tempered idiots who have nothing better to do that try to perform superiority by fighting others for their personal gain. Sound familiar? *points to Knuckles)*. Those are not Shadow and Silver. Even Sonic 06, for all its flaws, made them at their best with their stories! That is outdated (late 2000s-2010s) writing for the characters just to make Sonic look better. Which like a part of me said, wasn't the case in 06.
If that were to be to case, then this might as well cover up the quilled trio's broken beginning in Sonic 06, and might as well give fans a new and better sense of them, like giving them a second chance.
Shadow, Silver, and Blaze I think are the friends who should accompany Sonic if they stick to having Tails, Knuckles and Amy off on their own little journeys. Silver and Blaze need to have more spotlight in the franchise in my opinion and Shadow needs some character redeeming in how he’s been portrayed. These three and sonic would be a powerhouse of a team. It would be interesting to see how the characters interact, especially with Ian Flynn as the writer. Though I kind of doubt that this is the route they’ll go, I still think it would be really cool.
If Shadow does come back in a mainline Sonic game (especially in your pitch, Pup), I want hin to be written properly. Instead of an @$$hole who hates friends and being antagonistic like how he was in the IDW books as well as his Boom counterpart, I want Shadow to be like an ally much like how he was in 2006. Heck, I'd go so far as to say write Shadow the Hedgehog in a similar vein to Batman of the DCAU. Make his dynamic with Sonic akin to Batman and Superman's friendship. I'd rather see Sonic and Shadow as Batman and Superman instead of antagonistic rivals.
I would say Make Shadow akin to Batman Sonic Akin to the Flash and Silver akin to Superman. The reason I say this is because both Flash and Sonic are the heart of the team have Shadow be the brooding Experienced almost mentor Figure and Silver being the Bright Plucky boy Scout would be such a breath of fresh air to help us see he finally got his happy future and can now use what he learned from his predecessors to inspire people and be a symbol of hope. But I mean if not you could have That Superman and Batman dynamic you mentioned and have Silver as maybe a Green lantern Guy Gardner type which could also be really cool
I'd love if the next game felt like something similar to sunset overdrive/spiderman PS4, that type of gameplay fits sonic so well. The thought of running on the side of a massive building as sonic is just amazing.
One place from past games I think would work very well with Open Zone/Open World would most likely be Station Square, because not only would Open Zone be an evolution of the city itself, it would also finally explore Station Square a lot more and can build a connection between the characters and Station Square.
I like the idea of finding letter like things from tails, knuckles, or Amy and playing a level with them as their voice is saying what they are up to. Reminds me of finding tapes in crash 4 telling you all the tests done for crash and coco and your basically playing a prelude to the first game. I like this idea.
@thedarkknight2424 I mean I think of what tails said in frontiers about going off on his own. A 3D tails adventure sounds fun. And all the character development this would have if they keep the writing of them progressing like this. Because there's no other game in the modern era that has been doing this right now writing wise. There's potential. But I prepare myself for alot of that just being left on the floor.
@thedarkknight2424 time will tell. I look at alot of that games dialogue and I'm like Flynn is let in on more then he's willing to talk about. It feels like character spin off games could be a possibility again.
I think the next logical step for Sonic boss fights is to leave the Super to be a one or two time kind of occasion, and leaving the rest to regular Sonic. But that doesn't mean it has to be any less grand and dramatic, I mean, he's the blue blur, the guy who performed that amazing CD opening cinematic, bring back that kind of scale for modern sonic. Less punchy and overly powerful and more witty and overly flexible, be fast, creative, let movement be the center of the action and be kind of ridiculous with it, like a mix of Movie sonic's portrayal of speed, old animations and a bit of that Frontiers titan fight flair !
What I want to see Playable characters: shadow, cream, blaze, silver, rouge, omega, espio, charmy and vector More cyberspace themes Skill trees for all the characters Better controls for cyberspace Different boost themes (like in colours ultimate)
Hello there, friend. I agree. Frontiers had lots of potential. There was lots of good stuff in it. It’s not that the game was different from other Sonic games. It was just the execution. And I believe Sega can make something even better. Frontiers is a good step up from Forces. But that doesn’t say a lot. We want more than just to be better than Forces. Being better than Forces should not be the expectation. It should be for Sonic to be at his very best and to show how he can make fans proud. Frontiers made fans happy and some not. But it’s definitely an improvement. And now Sega has to take the criticism and make something even better. And hopefully they do, Sonic deserves the best.
@@ChumpX2 tbh, he isn’t asking anything too crazy, maybe asking for a lot of characters with their own skills may be, but like 6-8 characters having unique skills seems reasonable.
I think that regarding traversal, something akin to Jet Set Radio would make traveling across the open world a lot more exhilarating and fun. Maybe implement tricks more like how those games do it (based on speed and timing of button presses) or include more obstacles for Sonic to interact with. If it were something like the PS4 Spider-Man, where moving around the open world itself is fun, it could really elevate the whole experience
One thing I would like to see implemented in future Open-Zone games are side quests. Imagine a game long series of side missions where you help the Chaotix solve mysteries, or go treasure hunting with Rouge.
One thing I'd hope from Sonic Frontiers 2 as a sort of B plot would be Sage interacting with Metal Sonic, one of if not the first AI Eggman made to beat Sonic. Metal was such a cool villain way back in Heroes and hasn't really had any development since. I think a small conflict between Metal trying to take over the Eggman empire again or something and Sage protecting the doctor from him could make for some interesting interactions and character development for the both. You could have Sage question her own loyalty to Eggman after seeing what's essentially her big brother trying to take them both down. Something akin to the conflict between Gamma and Beta in Adventure 1, but on a bigger and deeper scale
What Sonic Frontiers 2 can learn from every gameplay style. Classic: replace 2D sections with 16 bit Sonic like Mario Odyssey. Adventure: add spin dash bounce, light speed attack and rolling whilst making more hilly level design. Boost: make a power up where the original boost is restored and it's offensive ability is restored. To capitalize on movie 2 bring shadow and rouge. Everything else is mentioned in the video, great video pup.
I really wish the island had more diversity Chaos island tried to do it a little bit but it could have been better Kronos: Grassland, Huge waterfall, Jungle, Ocean and Sea Aries: Dessert, Savanna, Ravines, Massive Underwater Lagoon, Chaos: Cave, Underwater Cave, Volcanic Cave, Volcano Ouranos: Sky, Ice, Ice cave and underwater river, Mountain, Grassland, Eggmans large base
Like, take for instance, for Sonic’s best friends to finally have their own adventure which in this case would have to be a game/IDW comic known as “Team Rose” with Amy as the leader, Tails as the flight leader and Knuckles as the power leader and Sonic might even make a cameo but not a major role because then that would mangle the purpose of what a spin-off should be.
Frontiers 2 isn’t something I would consider looking into just yet. But I believe that Sonic Team can even flesh out the Open Zone format if they could change most of the things that should be pretty straightforward: 1) Take 2D sections out altogether because it’s outstays its welcome. 2) Use Sonic Boom as a boost ability only in limited time because having it as a projectile contradicts what it actually meant. 3) Bring back the Spin Dash and this time make it more like how it was used in Sonic Adventure. 4) Let Sonic fly a plane for once because we haven’t been shown that he can still do it, and expand on Sonic’s hobbies beyond just running. 5) If I wanted to see Green Hill, Chemical Plant returning, just have Sonic explore South and West Side Islands again as an optional side quest. 6) Scale back Sonic’s power increase as the skill tree should work for past abilities kind of like how Crash used to do in the Crash trilogy + Wrath of Cortex. 7) Keep the buttons for separate abilities because I got used to it, although have Spin Dash be mapped to a different button. 8) Somersault be transitioned to slide as a finisher if you let go of a button. 9) The combat is fine, however there has to be a way to use abilities while doing it. For instance: you can spindash into enemies and then continue using cross slash or spin jump on enemies while doing a bounce in replacement of a stomp. And that’s all I can list them how they’ll improve the next Sonic game they could put out.
I love the idea of introducing the Elemental Shields and having them argument Sonic's movement options. Sonic's current control scheme already uses pretty much every button on the controller so there isn't much room to introduce new abilities (unless we're willing to cut some) so that's a pretty cool way of doing it. It's almost like how Kirby's Copy Abilities add variety to an otherwise basic platform moveset.
I wish they had like a hamster wheel mechanic and allowed you to store up charges. Make it so that when you run fast enough with a shock shield on you can step up a gear to slow down, but as you do you charge up one-time-uses of Lightspeed Dash. This works as a fluid difficulty setting, you can keep the gear up to go pretty slow all the time, but get elemental attacks in the exchange. If you're talented and don't WASTE those attacks, you can afford going faster more often. A shield would limit what attacks you can charge, because you still must find the correct one in the open world, and stack charges in a correct order. Think Puyo Puyo. And the slowdown when you're charging would also be your way of drifting customization, as different shields would have different racing game mechanics tied to them like how hard it grips and turns corners. Multiple playeable characters could work because every skill like Tails' flying would be it's own charge power, but choosing a character would work as set of freebies that you don't have to charge up.
while I really enjoyed Frontiers, I agree with you on more urbanized or inhabited areas. One reason that Sonic Unleashed is my favorite Sonic game is because it has a mixture of both natural and urban areas. With Rooftop Run and Skyscraper Scamper, you run through these densely populated areas, but then you have Cool Edge and Jungle Joyride where you run through more natural locales. And then there’s Eggmanland. I know it gets a bad wrap for being too long and challenging, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere of it. Unlike Forces, it actually felt like a place that Eggman took over with all his insignias and statues all over the place. If they plan on doing a follow up open-zone game, I hope they do a mixture of both natural and urbanized areas. And if they want to do another Eggman-themed level, they should do something similar to Eggmanland. I would also like to see more playable characters return too. That’s why I’m excited for the upcoming DLC for Frontiers.
Sonic frontiers really missed the mark on immersion for me, unleashed was the only time sonic's world truly felt alive because of the urban hub worlds full of npcs. I always compare it to mass effect 2, one or my other favorite games of all time because of how alive it feels. They both have: multiple hubs full of npcs from which you access the action stages, a world map with adventuous music. An soundtrack made to cater to the world, a clear end goal, and a buildup to an impactlful and memorable engame sequence (minus the gaia colossus part)
@@thegeth4293 I felt immersed in Frontiers. But that’s mainly thanks to the story and lore building. But I can understand where you are coming from. Oh yeah. New Yoke City does kind of resemble Eggmanland with the red colors and robot’s everywhere. I hope it won’t be much longer for the new episodes of Sonic Prime to drop.
@@thegeth4293 Fair enough. I’m hoping now that Frontiers has been well-received, SEGA will give Sonic Team the necessary resources and time to make the next game even better.
12:42 - I had a crazy idea for a surfing beach kinda level, but with the current lore it could only be some sort of Perfect-chaos like water manipulation
A reach attack for Tangle immediately comes to mind along with "grapple hooking" onto platforms that would be outside of jump range. Far away places that she could slingshot herself out to get to outside of Tail's flight range. Blaze could have Damage over Time attacks and be able to remove or cause certain hazards. Could have more AoE attacks. Use her famous perception to notice secret areas that others can't, try to give it a more observant bend given her character. Silver could also remove certain obstacles the others couldn't with his telekinesis. Could have a more powerful or targeted Reflection-parry given his abilities. Perhaps controlling certain platforms or environmental's. Give him *lives* or a *life* to represent his limited and unspecified chronological ability set. A local time freeze that could also be used in puzzles and combat. Whisper could have the longest ranged attacks and her whisps could be 'type keys' for certain areas, both plot and optional. Give her a "sneak" mode that lessens the enemy agro or line of sight concerning her. Also if the reader has gotten this far. Team Attacks in some form would be great both narratively and for gameplay variety of exploration and combat! Thank you for reading.
Imagine the Next Sonic Game Using Frontiers Mechanics blends the Style of Adventure,Adventure 2,Heroes,Shadow the Hedgehog,06,Unleashed, Colors,Generations,Rush, and Rush Adventure to Explore Cities,Worlds, and the Unknown with the Characters looking as Modernly as how they look in Forces(I Despise the Game but that’s Only of the Few Good Factors of that Terrible Game)while making them Playable and making them Unique, they Should Also make Sonic Run on Water that becomes important for His since 06 and Unleashed and the Elemental Items while making his Fighting Style More Relying on Wind,Air,and Tornadoes with His Speed, and Finale make the Stages Unique and if they Want to Use Classic Stages Use Ones that hasn’t been Modified yet like NRS did with the Classic Stages being Updated on MK9,MKX,and MK11 and make the Booses Tuffer and Character bosses a Comeback,I have been Playing Sonic Frontiers for the last Day of November as a Birthday Gift and Finished It 100% Friday 2 Days Ago and Is One of My Favorite Games in the Franchise on my Top 3 that in the Future I Want To See Sega be True to their Word to Develop the Characters and World in the Next Game.
*The controls and freedom of sa1 with a focus on the ball slope physics *Grinding mechanic from sa2 *The tornado wind ability and the team mechanics from heroes *Moveset and machspeed to transition from levels to islands etc. From 06 *And boost that works like rush with the quick step aswell as as the parkour mechanic from lost world *The gameplay loop, mission structure and open zone of Frontiers. If these are all implemented... We're looking at the perfect Sonic game.
Given the Ancients connection to Chaos and the chao, I think Cream and Cheese should feature prominently in the DLC. (Perfect Cheese would be the most hilarious boss in the series.)
I really want more environments, I could go for like 7 smaller open zones. As to what they would be, I'm not entirely sure. But I do want one of them to be a city theme. If we are going to retire the original cast for a bit. Then I would like to see other characters take the spotlight such as Mighty, Ray, Tangle, Whisper, Shadow, Chaotix, ect. Eggman and Sage could be the main antagonists along with the Hooligans.
... I want an Easy mode, one that doesn't lock off any of the story. Bonus bosses, sure, but please, give me an Easy Mode. Something with learnable fights that don't require high-speed reactions. Something where... maybe I can't stop on a dime, but where a blink isn't the difference between making the jump and falling into the pit. If the parry returns, give me the option not to have to time it, even if it's just on Easy. Basically, give me a Sonic game I can play, rather than just look at longingly. Frontiers did that. And I think they can make it more enjoyable and challenging for other gamers without making it inaccessible for me.
I'm a new fan of this franchise, had zero, ABSOLUTELY ZERO experience with it pre-2021. As of today I've played all games (more than 150 of them), all shows (web series and all), all films and A LOT of comics (read all of BOOM, IDW and I'm almost done with Fleetway, only Archie left). Here's what I got as newcomer but still absolute fanatic of this franchise: - Like the more childish stuff or hate it, you must admit, Sonic works best when he's taking himself seriously. IDW so far is the best tonally and writing-wise out of all the comics. Adventure Era is the best era so far. SatAM is the best show so far. Mephiles is the best villain so far. Characterization of the cast in games aside from Frontiers is at its best in 06. Best soundtrack in the franchise is from 06. Best spin-offs are from the Adventure Era and the best ones there are the ones that take themselves seriously (storybook games, Battle etc). The most memorable, iconic and outright badass moments in the franchise originate from material that had the common decency to take themselves somewhat seriously, so there were both believable and personal stakes, emotional impact and effective if corny scripting. Sonic DOES NOT work well when he's not taking himself seriously. Put gameplay aside, look at me in the eyes and tell me with a straight face you prefer the narrative approach of Lost World or Colors over Frontiers or Adventure 2, I dare you. Most Meta Era elitists I encounter think serious = broody and TWD-like, full of 😠😔🥺 and no 🤗😄🤭. That IS NOT what most fans want nor what we're saying, of course the franchise needs to retain its charm. Sonic must be quirky and impatient for example, no one's saying he should become Batman but you cannot treat your story that way. No, when Sonic is being tortured for 6 months he shouldn't joke around as if he just woke up from a peaceful nap on a summer day. When Tails gets kidnapped and potentially killed Sonic shouldn't say "I was too slow to save my buddy" in the most childish and emotionless way possible (look at the way he reacted to Elise's "death" in 06 and then to Tails getting kidnapped in Lost World like f*ck off ☠️). Then look at Sonic giving Any some time in Frontiers to accept the death of the Koco couple. Look at Sonic comforting Rouge in SA2. Look at Sonic in the IDW comics extending to every single villain he's encountered a helping hand and giving them a chance at freedom and redemption. Again I dare you to look at me straight in the eyes and tell me "No that doesn't work, the Meta Era way works". The jokes need to be inserted in a way and place where it doesn't ruin A) The stakes, B) the tone and C) the cast itself and how they interact with their world. Meta Era failed at that, Adventure Era and Frontiers pretty much excel at it. The humor needs to be there to complement the writing, to be used to enrich the experience, not retract from it and almost make it unbearable to longtime fans. That's what I want not just from the Frontiers sequel but from Sonic's future. Make him what he used to be for more than a decade before Sonic Colors and take him back to his prime. Make Sonic and co. evolving, mature when needed and engaging individuals again, give them a good story to be able to grow and bloomish. Make Sonic cool again.
I want a Frontiers type game that takes place on one of the main continents of the world, maybe eggman could have a fleet of ships that we can travel between.
I swear, this video made me imagine an open world Sonic game in a city the size of maybe New York in Spider-Man PS4 but with a Sonic twist to the aesthetic and now I kinda want to see that
Hm, these are some very interesting ideas, maybe you should bring this up directly to someone who works on the Sonic Games, there has been one of them (who I have forgotten the name of) who has been taking suggestions on Twitter and has been going-off on what to expect from Gen 3, he probably would be interested in knowing about this, The Sonic Show Channel has done Videos about it, have you watched them?
I have some ideas: Instead of returning to the Starfall Islands, what if there was an anniversary game about traveling across the series' world, like Unleashed except with elaborating on pre-established world building? With this in mind I'd want to be about three playable characters: Sonic, who'd control similarly to Frontiers(though I think combat shouldn't be stationary), Silver, who'd be based on Gamma, and Blaze, because she's my favorite Sonic character. Blaze would play like a mix of the Boost Gameplay and the fluid movement of Solar Ash. I don't know what kind of giant bosses like Titans Blaze and Silver would face(maybe Blaze's foes could be like Anomalies while Silver is more like KH3 Gummi Ship with a deflection mechanic). But for Sonic, I think it'd be really cool to forgo the Chaos Emeralds for most of the bosses. Instead, Sonic would have to fight giant robots while grounded, instead of the power of flight that Super Sonic has. I wouldn't want the bosses to be stationary or slow, though. I'm imagining Sonic weaving through devastating attacks, building up momentum, before skidding into a complete right angle to gather up the momentum and use it to launch himself into the air for a devastating spin attack. As for Zones? I have a lot of ideas but I don't know how many Open Zones would be feasible. 1: Cardinal Archipelago (base on the IDW world and set pieces), named after Westside and South Island. 2: Sol Castletown, the island where Blaze's palace is. 3: Empire City, for the human continents. 4: Egg Plant, a new recurring Eggman base inspired by Chemical Plant. 5: Wisp Forest, we didn't really see much of not-mechanized Planet Wisp. 6: Chrono Catastrophe, Silver's future, but instead of a good or bad future, it's several futures overlapping each other. Parts of it could be ravaged by Iblis, while another part could be an Eggman Dystopia. Maybe the chaos of this place could tie into the plot. Oh! Also Starfall Redesign Ideas! Kronos: Fog themed, there's never not a cloud in the sky. Ancient structures being buried by plant life(also weeds are good for the environment what the heck Amy?) Ares: Phosphorescent underground river caverns instead of just sandy nothingness. There could be a focus on below and above ground. Chaos: Fire/Ice. It's literally right there! That or more chemical ponds. Rhea: Dead forest, silent and gloomy to fit the atmosphere of that point in the story. Ouranos: Sky themed? Angel Island? There'd be run-down Ancient structures dotting the place, but instead of being the same durable architecture as usual, it'd instead be buildings the Ancients created using local materials, rather than what they brought with them.
Another thing I think would be cool to see with the elemental shields returning is the fire and electric shields having effects on enemies where the fire shield can burn enemies and the electric shields electrocutes them but to not have it be too OP then maybe Eggman or whoever makes the enemies have some of the right defenses so some enemies either aren’t affected or the ones that can have a bit of resistance so using those don’t immediately take them out
@@rickyrackey7930 I'm guessing Erica Mendez is using her Ryuko Matoi voice. What characters did the other VAs play that you had in mind. I'd love to hear samples of your references.
Personally I think the big Super Sonic boss fight at the end of each major gameplay section like Frontiers but they could add some twist where you could have a significantly harder fight and have to exploit weaknesses in base form, like attacking the back of the knee on a giant bipedal mech to stagger it, but if you want to you can collect the Chaos Emeralds to make the boss fight easier.
Things I want in the sequel: - Playable Characters with special attacks like Sonic's - Momentum Physics - New massive islands along with the islands being interconnected and with different themes each - Extra third phase for the titans - New super forms - NO OVERPRICED MEMORY TOKEN ASKING PRICES - New lore - Visiting the old islands - Different enemies each - Gamemodes - New cosmetics/music notes - More lore of the symbol
I want to see some integration of parkour into the gameplay. Something like dying light 2 or sunset overdrive but sonic. Also for the music I 100% agree we should use rock but there should be different types of rock for the areas like for the skate park we could have butt rock and pop punk but for the eggman base we could have industrial metal.
Other metalcore artists I think would be good for Frontiers 2: Jesse Cash and JT Cavey from ERRA. Jesse is also one hell of a guitarist so he could add an extra something to the instrumentals Spencer Sotelo of Periphery Dana Willax of Kingdom of Giants Kyle Anderson of Brand of Sacrifice (for those wondering why Kyle, listen to BoS back when they were known as The Afterimage) Andy Cizek of Termina/Monuments/Makari Also I want to see them build up the combat of Frontiers more. It showed great potential and I hope Sonic Team pushes it further. Also heavy agree on more Urban environments in the next game.
I feel like if the Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Zones were to be structured as bonus levels, that each of the regular Zones utilize a Crash 4 Flashback Stage-style system where completing every mission unlocks a TH-cam video-style Zone that Sonic can access on the Miles Electric at anytime on any of the Open Zones. And maybe this time around (since Kellin Quinn is probably working on a new Sleeping with Sirens song/album), get Ghost Fight to do the Super Sonic bosses (with mixing and mastering by Shawn Christmas in addition to vocals) if they're gonna be metalcore tracks again, and make Shadow, Cream, and Silver the supporting characters.
For stories ideas what if one ancient survive and came back thanks to the events of Sonic Frontiers and is working with Dr. Eggman, but plans on betrayed. His plans could be bringing back the ancients by killing everyone else on Sonic's World. Also the shattered remains of The End could be a plot point. They can be the main collectable or Dr. Eggman is using them to build more powerful Robots. For levels I came up with a few. Two tropical islands one has Caribbean inspired town, but was a heavy music influence. Like music notes on buildings wall, stop signs look like instruments that like of thing. The other is a protection tropical rainforests with a coral reefs around it. I also had a similar idea being New Orleans inspired city, also with a heavy music influence, but it's near a swamp. Finally a traditional Japan theme village, but it ninja and samurai theme. There should be a mini game where Sonic used a sword. For boss battles could maybe have Super Sonic boss battles. I did earlier Eggman could use The End remains to make more powerful robots, so maybe those robots are the bosses. For characters, Blaze, Shadow, and Silver would great, other characters like the Cream or the Chaotix could probably have side quests. For dlc, I think you can bring back Infinite and make him actually make a threat. Like maybe the gem broken or shattered, but he found something that makes him more powerful and the only way to beat is Super Sonic and Shadow. Also maybe we can get the sol dimension in the dlc too.
I think there could be potential in having that idea of playing levels as Tails, Knuckles, & Amy to see what they're doing elsewhere in the world _be_ the cyberspace equivalents. Say the threat in this game is something spread-out worldwide, to the point Sonic needs people acting across continents instead of islands; but conveniently he has these friends exploring the world and having their own adventures that just so happen to take them to where else in the world that danger is happening in. And whenever they resolve that threat elsewhere in the world, that someway or another helps unlock something where Sonic is.
what about wind sheild that allow for a brief hover in the air similar to ray hovering from sonic mania but in an short amount of time , and force field shield which would look like a transparant shield with square like shape , which would allow for sonic to throw objects generated from that shield made like a minor version of it to destroy obstecales , that would be cool
As a fan who's first game was Colors, I would love an open zone Eggman land. We could bring back the hilarious park speaker announcements. I have an interesting idea for the third Frontiers DLC, where it's an open zone simulation of the ancient's home world hosted on cyberspace, where you explore it as Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. The only story idea I have so far is Eggman converts into an MMO to sneakily try and take over the world's computers and flow of information. Metal Sonic could return as a boss inside the simulation where he uses a 3D model of the real Sonic as an avatar.
If they make a city, it should have Uncle Chuck's Chili Dog Diner for sure. Also, imagine if Ixis Naugus was in Frontiers 2 and we get to have a level in the Zone of Silence.
I've been playing around with a few open zone ideas myself actually they're wacky and fantastical: like a casino that during the day is a flourishing jungle but during the night the plants and trees recede and let go of the slot machines and stuff making the casino open, or a tropical beach with a volcano and a coral reef that reacts to temperature during low tide it freezes over allowing you to explore the frozen wonderland and during high tide the coral glows red or orange with heat and lava, I think the guardians and titans set a awesome standard for how I think most bosses going forward should play like especially how each guardian has their own music theme, Eggman seeing as he wanted their technology might make designs akin to them (Some of my personal favorite guardians being; Ghost, Spider, Fortress, Squid, Sumo and Strider.)
They should make entire Knuckles sections jsut underground. Treat the earth like water, other characters just walk on its surface but Knuckles' levels are there in the negative space of it, gliding working like a drill wisp as the replacement to jumping. The whole game could be slanted like a snowboarding game, with different characters having their way of traverising into the higher, northern parts of the map. Rails could more naturally just jut out from the mountainside. With enough progression the later levels would jsut be on the airborne Egg Fleet, and speedrunners could break the sequence by finding ways of getting far away enough from the terrain to reach it.
I had the same idea about perhaps even including Marine, but I was so surprised to hear you say it! I almost never see anyone wanting to acknowledge her. To an extent I get it, because her writing in Rush Adventure was pretty annoying sometimes, and when you couple that with that game being her debut, it can come across as her just sort of being an annoying character. But there's so much more potential to her as a whole. A new game with her could explore the hydrokinesis she develops at the end of her debut game! Plus, if we're gonna have Heroes-style teams again, she could totally be the Power type character on a team with Silver (Fly) & Blaze (Speed), perhaps known as Team Rush or something. Team Chaotix could also be candidates to include for a new set of other amigo characters to focus on! Beyond that, the other ones I definitely thought of were Team Dark. Out of everyone, I think I focused on Shadow, Blaze & Silver the most. I almost wonder what the memory token thing could be replaced with, if that mechanic were to be carried over... since I'm not so sure if the "character has temporary amnesia that you have to help them recover from to progress in the story" thing could potentially get pretty old after Frontiers. But I do still love the idea of including the buddy characters in a way that requires you to go searching around open world environments to further dialogue with them. Plus how the memory tokens are so cutely simplistic, yet speak so deeply to each character's personality. I wonder if one of the plots in the next game could revolve around Eggman having to recreate Sage's physical body. I feel like it would probably look the same as her original design more or less (though perhaps with some variation of a new sort of clothing style?), but overall, it would tie in with how Eggman is VERY protective over her now, considering the obvious & very understandable trauma he experienced from temporarily losing her. It could perhaps lead to an interesting scenario at some point that could be sort of akin to Ariel & Triton in The Little Mermaid, where Sage wants to prove to her father that she can be strong and accomplish big things on her own without something dire having to happen, but Eggman doesn't want her to have this carry the world on your shoulders type of mentality going on & unintentionally becomes a helicopter parent of sorts. It could create for some comedic moments at first perhaps, but ultimately I'd want it to have a heartwarming resolution by the end of the game; even if they're still technically villains at the end of the day, hehe. (I mean, obviously Eggman would still be considered as such, but you know what I mean.) I honestly wouldn't mind at all if they just more or less literally recreated some adventure field open world type of areas from Adventure or Unleashed, or perhaps even somewhat like the hub worlds of 06. I'd like for certain locations mentioned in previous games (namely Unleashed!!) to be mentioned at some point, too. Like maybe someone says during some of the dialogue somewhere that one of the areas they're in at the moment (insert hub world here) is part of or right next to, say, Shamar, or a place that exchanges goods with, say, Soleanna. There's... well, mind the super corny pun, but, endless possibility!! 😅
Thank Chanel Pup for bringing up the whole boosting under water situation. I mean he’s Sonic the Hedgehog, he runs at the speed of sound not the speed of a dirt bike And when you mention character boss fights in frontiers style combat, I’m not sure. I usually imagine them in generations style gameplay Note: Are sure Mighty and Ray are canon
Trelon the Assuror, I really really really wish was a character in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sonic Frontiers 2 sounds very exciting though whatever is confirmed.
Sonic Adventure or 06 style NPCs would be so much better than the ugly Unleashed people. As for a city, I want to see Sonic running up buildings, grinding through subway tunnels, & helping random MMD Model People with various tasks. Of course I also want to fly around as Tails & Cream, climb as Knuckles & Rouge, or even wack things with Amy's hammer.
Spin dash would be way more fun to use instead of the boost for in open world. A great example of this would be the spindash gameplay in the most recent Project Hero update.
I really hope they get rid of the 2d sections. If there is something that I Can't sand. It is when I want to go somewhere, I got looked in a 2d area who guides me in the opposite direction in the end.
Hear me out. An open zone remake of Sonic colors would be actually amazing. Colors is my favourite game of all time for how fun and cool its world design is and I think all the different attractions would be PERFECT for an open zone game like Frontiers. The goal could be the same as the normal sonic colors, having to go around the parks and do objectives to destroy each generator before taking on eggman at the end. The wisp power ups could have so much potential in an open zone setting too!
everyone: thinking about how could we have the perfect sonic frontiers sequel me: thinking about how sonic frontiers could lead to Tails, Amy, & Knuckles having their own 3d action adventure games ( a man can dream 😅 )
Actually now I think about predictions for the next game that canonically takes place after Frontiers well now that Knuckles well will still be chillin' with the big boi emerald, Amy and Tails will garunteed be gone for the next game atleast, then this next game would be perfect for a Shadow re-appearance. Or just a solo Sonic story it has been an INCREDIBLY LONG TIME since Sonic had a full truly solo adventure. The Black Knight game does not count, because the sword counts as a person.
I love the ideas surrounding the main hub islands!!! The next game definitely needs to amp up the juice and spice in every way it can. We can only hope SEGA reflects that wish by providing more resources for Sonic Team. The only thing I'd disagree with is retiring the classic team of Knuckles, Tails, and Amy just yet. We haven't even seen their character playstyles in the next gen of sonic, so there is a ton of potential to go into a new story with their own separate adventures, and then meeting up together at the end to fight one big bad, very akin to Sonic Adventure 1. I love the secondary cast, and I'm dying to see Blaze again, but dropping the classic characters to the side at the height of their potential would be a bit wasteful imo. Give them one more awesome mainline 3D game, and then I'd say we can jump to the cast of Shadow, Blaze, and Silver at the forefront!
Pup mate, you make some good videos but I have never understood the random ways you tell people to subscribe directly after the intro, whether it's Bob burgers like it was today (hehe borger) or the alians or the ones I don't get references to, I just don't think they work
Stop and think about it: has there ever been a Super v Super boss fight in a Sonic game before? Maybe the titan-esque Super Sonic boss fights could be replaced with, i dunno, a Super Shadow boss fight or a Burning Blaze boss fight, etc. Plus with the story of Frontiers focusing on Sonic's relationships with his friends, the next game could continue to have his friends be gone and focus on Sonic's interactions with his rivals when his friends aren't around to help him, maybe question morals or something to really push Sonic to his edge?
@@bluefire9285 there kinda is, but it’s just the dropdash and when you jump you lose all of your momentum making it useless, and if you’re talking about the mods i’m meaning of it being implemented in an official way.
About the 2d, in cyberspace and as a gimmick i dont care i think its fine if they do well, on open zones where the focus is exploring and freedom yeah i agree its dumb and never come back again.
Not a fan of the idea of items and elemental shields coming back at least in the form you suggested. I'd rather Sonic's moveset and iconic abilities not to be carved up and put in item capsules. This is the same issue the wisps had. I shouldn't need a wisp to light speed dash. I shouldn't need a shield to run on water. Now if you made item capsules similar to Nero's Arms in DMCV, where they add something completely new to your arsenal, and you are largely in control of which you have at what time then I'd be on board with it. I think fishing cheese should stay, but the mini game itself should be more involved. That aside great video, Pup! Having around 5-7 smaller openzones that are around the size of Kronos, but are jam packed with things to do, fight, and interact with would be the perfect way forward. I really hope the next game expands and improves the combat system to be on par with or even superior to whats on offer in Spark 3 (which Kishimotto recently stated on twitter he plans on playing), and I hope the next game's story puts more emphasis on an engaging plot.
Having Sonic, Shadow and Silver and the center of the story could be maybe a do over for 06, those 3 have alot of potential as joint protagonists
Shadow and Silver need to stay in the past in order to allow the current group to continue to improve.
Team Sonic: Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose & Knuckles
Team Shadow: Shadow, Rouge, Omega & Eggman
Team Silver: Silver, Blaze, Cream & Sage
@@gregzotter6189 I'm mean they can still do the Sonic, Shadow, and Silver trio, and add more characters at the same time.
Agreed
The game established that Knuckles will still be around for a bit.
Shadow finally admits what he has been doing last decade is wrong and willing to atone for his past sins.
I mean, he's apparently written really well in _Sonic Prime._
@@appleandaria6947 the best we've seen him in years, mate
@thedarkknight2424 I mean look how hard shadow is going to be nudged back into the games after sonic movie 3 is very likely.
What I want to see
Playable characters: shadow, cream, blaze, silver, rouge, omega, espio, charmy and vector
More cyberspace themes
Skill trees for all the characters
Better controls for cyberspace
Different boost themes (like in colours ultimate)
Woah slow down there bud, you're asking for a lot
@@ChumpX2 tbh, he isn’t asking anything too crazy, maybe asking for a lot of characters with their own skills may be, but like 6-8 characters having unique skills seems reasonable.
I like it. But I’d limit the playable character to 6: Sonic, Shadow, Silver, Blaze, Espio and Surge
All i'm saying is that the new speed combat introduced in frontiers, with shadow and silver, has SO MUCH potential.
Agreed
These are all amazing ideas for Frontiers 2, but you know what else would be?
If everyone were THICC
Agreed
@@kieranstark7213 That is what mods are for.

I really wish the island had more diversity
Chaos island tried to do it a little bit but it could have been better
Kronos: Grassland, Huge waterfall, Jungle, Ocean and Sea
Aries: Dessert, Savanna, Ravines, Massive Underwater Lagoon,
Chaos: Cave, Underwater Cave, Volcanic Cave, Volcano
Ouranos: Sky, Ice, Ice cave and underwater river, Mountain, Grassland, Eggmans large base
I hope Kishimoto see this video, your ideas are always really good
Like, take for instance, for Sonic’s best friends to finally have their own adventure which in this case would have to be a game/IDW comic known as “Team Rose” with Amy as the leader, Tails as the flight leader and Knuckles as the power leader and Sonic might even make a cameo but not a major role because then that would mangle the purpose of what a spin-off should be.
Frontiers 2 isn’t something I would consider looking into just yet.
But I believe that Sonic Team can even flesh out the Open Zone format if they could change most of the things that should be pretty straightforward:
1) Take 2D sections out altogether because it’s outstays its welcome.
Agreed
New yoke city in prime kind of shows they havent forgotten our beloved eggmanland

@@endtell That’s a New Way to Describe Me but Thanks.

*The controls and freedom of sa1 with a focus on the ball slope physics
*Grinding mechanic from sa2
*The tornado wind ability and the team mechanics from heroes
*Moveset and machspeed to transition from levels to islands etc. From 06
*And boost that works like rush with the quick step aswell as as the parkour mechanic from lost world
*The gameplay loop, mission structure and open zone of Frontiers.
If these are all implemented... We're looking at the perfect Sonic game.
Given the Ancients connection to Chaos and the chao, I think Cream and Cheese should feature prominently in the DLC. (Perfect Cheese would be the most hilarious boss in the series.)
Oh my gosh. You used Sonic Guitars music in your background. My man has good taste.
I agree with literally everything in this video. very good and creative ideas pup
Unleashed style npc’s but with a more anime art style like they did with Sage. That way it help with the shounen-ness Frontiers was going more for.
I hope frontiers 2 is sonic 06's successor if the characters in the thumbnail are in it. I love Sonic 06 for it's story!
Here's what I got as newcomer but still absolute fanatic of this franchise:
- Like the more childish stuff or hate it, you must admit, Sonic works best when he's taking himself seriously.
25:46 Considering a line of dialogue from Frontiers straight-up confirms Tangle the Lemur as a canon character, it's without a doubt possible!
I'd like to see 3 things in Sonic Frontiers 2. They are: Shadow, the ability to run on water, and turn into Super Sonic at will.
Sonic Adventure with the bounce on circle and the drop dash on square. Done.
I swear, this video made me imagine an open world Sonic game in a city the size of maybe New York in Spider-Man PS4 but with a Sonic twist to the aesthetic and now I kinda want to see that
Hm, these are some very interesting ideas, maybe you should bring this up directly to someone who works on the Sonic Games, there has been one of them (who I have forgotten the name of) who has been taking suggestions on Twitter and has been going-off on what to expect from Gen 3, he probably would be interested in knowing about this,
The Sonic Show Channel has done Videos about it, have you watched them?
I have some ideas:
Instead of returning to the Starfall Islands, what if there was an anniversary game about traveling across the series' world, like Unleashed except with elaborating on pre-established world building?
Ancient structures being buried by plant life(also weeds are good for the environment what the heck Amy?)
Ares: Phosphorescent underground river caverns instead of just sandy nothingness.
I hope the next game is Adventure 3 with Frontier’s mechanics.
Agreed
Another thing I think would be cool to see with the elemental shields returning is the fire and electric shields having effects on enemies where the fire shield can burn enemies and the electric shields electrocutes them but to not have it be too OP then maybe Eggman or whoever makes the enemies have some of the right defenses so some enemies either aren’t affected or the ones that can have a bit of resistance so using those don’t immediately take them out

- New cosmetics/music notes
- More lore of the symbol
I want to see some integration of parkour into the gameplay. Something like dying light 2 or sunset overdrive but sonic. Also for the music I 100% agree we should use rock but there should be different types of rock for the areas like for the skate park we could have butt rock and pop punk but for the eggman base we could have industrial metal.
Other metalcore artists I think would be good for Frontiers 2:
Jesse Cash and JT Cavey from ERRA. Jesse is also one hell of a guitarist so he could add an extra something to the instrumentals
Spencer Sotelo of Periphery
Dana Willax of Kingdom of Giants
Kyle Anderson of Brand of Sacrifice (for those wondering why Kyle, listen to BoS back when they were known as The Afterimage)
Andy Cizek of Termina/Monuments/Makari
Also I want to see them build up the combat of Frontiers more. It showed great potential and I hope Sonic Team pushes it further. Also heavy agree on more Urban environments in the next game.
I love these Ideas. As much as I want them, I doubt that they'll include them. If this was the next game, It would be the best Sonic Game!
Agreed
Agreed
I think there could be potential in having that idea of playing levels as Tails, Knuckles, & Amy to see what they're doing elsewhere in the world _be_ the cyberspace equivalents.
Say the threat in this game is something spread-out worldwide, to the point Sonic needs people acting across continents instead of islands; but conveniently he has these friends exploring the world and having their own adventures that just so happen to take them to where else in the world that danger is happening in. And whenever they resolve that threat elsewhere in the world, that someway or another helps unlock something where Sonic is.
Epic Bob from Bob’s Burgers impression
I wouldn’t mind for more playable sonic characters in sonic frontiers 2
what about wind sheild that allow for a brief hover in the air similar to ray hovering from sonic mania but in an short amount of time , and force field shield which would look like a transparant shield with square like shape , which would allow for sonic to throw objects generated from that shield made like a minor version of it to destroy obstecales , that would be cool
Well this aged pretty well
I hope this Gen 3 doesn’t disappoint and drop the ball.
The thought of eggman insertion of sage into his ego on display in an open zone eggman land type area scares me. It creeps me out too.
If they make a city, it should have Uncle Chuck's Chili Dog Diner for sure. Also, imagine if Ixis Naugus was in Frontiers 2 and we get to have a level in the Zone of Silence.
If we get uncle chuck do you think we should also have more of sonic's family?
Like his parents? his brother and sister?
@@damienphelps2824 Maybe his parents, but not his siblings.
@@bowserbreaker2515 Why not?
@@damienphelps2824 I just don't like his siblings, and they never were in Archie. It'd be better if we just saw Uncle Chuck and maybe his parents.
I've been playing around with a few open zone ideas myself actually they're wacky and fantastical:
like a casino that during the day is a flourishing jungle but during the night the plants and trees recede and let go of the slot machines and stuff making the casino open,
or a tropical beach with a volcano and a coral reef that reacts to temperature during low tide it freezes over allowing you to explore the frozen wonderland and during high tide the coral glows red or orange with heat and lava,
I think the guardians and titans set a awesome standard for how I think most bosses going forward should play like especially how each guardian has their own music theme, Eggman seeing as he wanted their technology might make designs akin to them (Some of my personal favorite guardians being; Ghost, Spider, Fortress, Squid, Sumo and Strider.)
I would like big budget solo games for Amy, Tails, and Knuckles
Certain enemy's should also have elemental properties as well so we'd have another reason to have have elemental shields.
(I mean, obviously Eggman would still be considered as such, but you know what I mean.)
I honestly wouldn't mind at all if they just more or less literally recreated some adventure field open world type of areas from Adventure or Unleashed, or perhaps even somewhat like the hub worlds of 06.
Agreed
Thank Chanel Pup for bringing up the whole boosting under water situation.
I mean he’s Sonic the Hedgehog, he runs at the speed of sound not the speed of a dirt bike
And when you mention character boss fights in frontiers style combat, I’m not sure. I usually imagine them in generations style gameplay
Note: Are sure Mighty and Ray are canon
i really hope someone at sonic team sees this
Trelon the Assuror, I really really really wish was a character in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sonic Frontiers 2 sounds very exciting though whatever is confirmed.
great video i hope devs see this fr
The wisp power ups could have so much potential in an open zone setting too!
maybe the sage that eggman makes in Sonic Frontiers 2 is a different sage that looks like sage but has a different personality.
That would be cool to see elemental shields come back but I don't think that's likely
Agreed
Combat needs to be challenging.
everyone: thinking about how could we have the perfect sonic frontiers sequel
me: thinking about how sonic frontiers could lead to Tails, Amy, & Knuckles having their own 3d action adventure games ( a man can dream 😅 )
I literally was thinking we could have a water themed island when I played Sonic Frontiers a few days ago! 🤣🤣🤣
I would love having shadow and blaze back as shadow is my favourite sonic character and my first sonic game was sonic rush

Dude please!!!
Play the new DEMO
Channel Pup: "SHUT UP!!!"
Me: Oh hell no!
Also me: I shouldn't have said anything
Oooooo an urban setting is sooooo appealing
Wanna make an updated version of this video?
I got a few things to add. 👀
27:55 fin.
if Silver comes in Sonic frontiers 2 i'll wet myself
Pup mate, you make some good videos but I have never understood the random ways you tell people to subscribe directly after the intro, whether it's Bob burgers like it was today (hehe borger) or the alians or the ones I don't get references to, I just don't think they work
*Next Sonic game
His frontiers 2 pitch is literally just another "sonic adventure 3" pitch..
Take a close look at Sonic Adventure Chronicles! What's going on with that fan game is looking seriously promising with everything you've said here.
I certainly will!
Is mighty and ray come back in a new sonic game in the future Fans would be freaking out
Stop and think about it: has there ever been a Super v Super boss fight in a Sonic game before? Maybe the titan-esque Super Sonic boss fights could be replaced with, i dunno, a Super Shadow boss fight or a Burning Blaze boss fight, etc. Plus with the story of Frontiers focusing on Sonic's relationships with his friends, the next game could continue to have his friends be gone and focus on Sonic's interactions with his rivals when his friends aren't around to help him, maybe question morals or something to really push Sonic to his edge?
i love bob burger
Even tho the best sonic game in along time
Sonic, Shadow & Blaze as a line-up... where do i sign ? take my money lol
Bro why did he say Linda like that we all know he has a crush on Tina
Have you sent this to Kishimoto? I'm sure he'd listen to it.
What about Pubs so Sonic can get drunk lol or bowling
for the next game i hope they actually add momentum physics and not reuse assets.
Momentum is already in frontiers tho lol
@@bluefire9285 there kinda is, but it’s just the dropdash and when you jump you lose all of your momentum making it useless, and if you’re talking about the mods i’m meaning of it being implemented in an official way.
About the 2d, in cyberspace and as a gimmick i dont care i think its fine if they do well, on open zones where the focus is exploring and freedom yeah i agree its dumb and never come back again.
Play skate 3 I think that should be what an open world sonic game should be like
Not a fan of the idea of items and elemental shields coming back at least in the form you suggested.
Maybe they'll let you punch the moon in the sequel.
Or piss on the moon
You mean sonic adventure 3?
