    This presentation provides a visual celebration of Texas’ turtle diversity and many of the people who are translating their experience and knowledge towards tangible conservation and understanding of our native turtle species.
    The presenter, Viviana Ricardez, is the Vice president of the Texas Turtles organization and oversees its daily operations. She is also a member of the IUCN SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group. Fueled by her lifelong passion for turtles and herpetology, she works tirelessly to study, document and publish on the ecology and natural history of Texas turtles. Viviana is active in conservation and research efforts with turtles, traveling across the state of Texas to work on multiple long-term population monitoring studies. In addition, she is responsible for organizing the Texas Turtle’s research study sites throughout the state.
