- Manhattan and Pelham Bay Park bound R62A (6) Trains with Not In Service R62A (6) Trains, Not In Service R142 Wash Train and Not In Service R142 School Car @ Westchester Square
Taken March 10th
The first R142 train is assigned to the 4. The second one is assigned to the 2, which returns a few clips later in the opposite direction. 6306-6310 was part of the first R142 train ever, and entered service in July 2000. Can't believe they're coming up on 20 years old.

For people that are going to say that r142s and r142as are coming back to the 6, please stop because it's already annoying hearing that. We should know good and well that the 6 will have the r62as for a few years for now and that's something we have to get used to. I'm not trying to be mean and all, but this is what some of you Foamers have been doing for 7 years since the 6 and 7 swap happened. The type of train car shouldn't matter; it should matter that your able to get from point A to B. Anyway that's all I got to say. Please stay safe and don't go out unless you really have to do something very important!
You know people are complaining on the N and W lines cause of the r46s over there but lucky for them they will have the r211s soon.
@Raye Waddell People are entitled to their own opinion and if you do not like it that is your problem. What is wrong with people saying that they miss the R142A trains on the (6) line?? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that so don't come over here saying that it is annoying for people to be complaining about the R62A cars coming back from the (7) line. What is really annoying is people like you who don't respect other people's opinions.

@@Hotters9060 Did I say that no one can have an opinion? I'm just keeping it real with certain people who believe that the r142s and r142as are coming to the 6 line and that we should all move on and deal with the change until further notice.

@@rayewaddell9668 Yeah but the (6) was better with the retired REDBIRDS R29, R33WF and the R36WF. And also the (6) line was better with the R142A together with the R62A so what are you talking about???
You act like the (6) line is supposed to be just like the (1) line with only R62A trains.
@@Hotters9060 Because I don't hear anyone else complaining about the 1 having r62as for about more than 30 years now. The r62as left the 6 for about since 2002 and came back in 2013, so they were off the 6 for 11 years and the r142as have on the 6 for 18 years(2000-2018), so that was a good run. The 7 took the r62as from the 6 and all of a sudden when the 6 gets them back from the 7, we start to hate on the 6. Like the 6 gave the 7 payback for stealing its r62as cars from the line. The 6 has had them back for 7 years now, while the 1 has had r62as for more than 30 years. I don't get it.

@@mariodude7424 Well new cars are coming out a few years from now called the r262s, but I don't know if they'll hit the 6 right away. They'll probably go to high capacity lines such as the 2/4 and 5 since those are the busiest lines in IRT.
Wait for the R262 subway cars to com within this decade.
The 142/as run on the Pelham line once in blue however Westchester yard is now access to run the 142/as to the train wash next thing the 142a will go through Westchester yard for a train wash

Rare that this particular set has 6 bullets on every car. Many of the R62A five car sets have their bullets covered up on the non driving ends.
Even though the r262s are not built yet we don't know what s gonna happen next never say never so could this

why they don't use those trains anymore they only use the old run down coney island looking 1 trains now instead of using the new trains with the black and red in the front and the back with the lady and the man auto computer voice to tell all the stops for the computer lady to tell them names of all the stops and the computer man voice to tell all the passengers people that get on the train to stand clear of the closing doors please and they just only use those trains for the 4 train and the 2 train and the 5 train and they only use the non speaker raggety run down old trains and all the stops are called out and named by the conductor train drivers and you can't understand what they are saying and there are old run down old fashioned 6 trains and the new red and black front model 6 trains coming in and out of the train yard.
