NEPSI Tech Talk Session 39: Modeling AMSC’s DVAR STATCOM in Siemens' PSS®E Power System Software

  • Network planning engineers are often tasked with modeling AMSC’s DVAR STATCOM in Siemen’s PSSE Transmission and Analysis Software. The modeling and subsequent power system analysis are used to evaluate the steady state and dynamic stability of the system.
    In this week’s NEPSI Tech Talk, NEPSI is pleased to welcome Bilgehan Donmez, Manager of Transmission and Distribution Planning at AMSC. Bilgehan will step us through the process of modeling AMSC DVAR STATCOM system within PSSE and will then show us how to perform the simulations. He will be sharing his insights and his screen as he enters their DVAR control parameters into PSSE and executes simulations.

The presentation then moves into a live demonstration using PSSE.
