Same pay grade E-9. One with star is SGM and the one with oakleaves and star is CSGM. I assume the rank change as they are no longer in command. The same happens with E-8 Master SGT and 1SGT. One wears diamond and one does not. One is in command and one is not. Same pay, lateral promotions. When you are no longer in charge of a company, your rank is changed from 1SG back to MSG.
Do you have to change needle size or thread pattern for uniform patches, or is just “ best judgement”? We are on recruiting duty and no one can change the rank on my husband uniform so I’m learning to sew myself. I have a machine but lack skills and confidence. Will be practicing this weekend for a rank swap🥹😅
Hello! I hope you were able to figure it out. Typically need size doesn't matter, the smaller the better however to prevent making visible holes. Please reach out to support@gruntstitch.com if you have any questions!
Yes, we do more than just military patches. We also help police, fire departments, university athletics, and more! Fun fact, even some big biker jacket ones!
Small world taken plenty of uniforms to that shop in bloomington
Hey @mikealmortimer2415! That's awesome, small world! Thank you for your patronage.
Nice work fellas
Thank you sir!
So for the slanted service stripes on the sleeve, you can't just add a stripe, you have to replace the bars with a stack that has one more stripe?
❤ awesome. Thank you Sir. Ex military Wife. I still love him. Semperfi. Sara
Hi Sara, wishing you well!
Can you do it the same way with decoration tape that has to be sewn around the sleves? You sew it around through the lining and base fabric?
@biskay4515 yes we can do that. Send us an email to support@gruntstitch.com and we can get that started.
ooh demotion! thats rough, DUI?
Was wondering that too
We only do patches, no questions asked. 👀
Probably was done being a CSM due to a PCS?

I would use a seam ripper, less risk.
We typically one to open it up and then a razor to slide it the rest of the way!

can you do one for the cuff stripes on a navy officer uniform
Yes we can!
Thanks, very interesting!
Do you sew all kind of patches? Could you show recent ones😂

why not only use a seam ripper for destitching the patches?
We use a seam ripper initially to start the cut then use a razor for the rest. It's faster and a cleaner cut.
Trying to sew patches on my peacoat. In honor of him and squadron.
Hi Sara, let me know if you need any help!
Vfa 125. Strike fighter 125
If you're using a sewing machine, it ain't by hand!
Someone with a ; tat, needs to be careful with razor blades. Just saying, I've been there.
Got a message to stop. Seriously a thank you message. Wtf. Enough
