Fucking GREAT live too. Saw them when they toured with Jane's, Alice in Chains and a bunch of other bands. A former co-worker Adam Barker was touring and playing some drum type of instruments as well. Loved it and love this music.

This song is unique in many ways. I listen to many styles/sub-genres of rock and metal and when I heard this song for the first time I loved how it was in low tunning and had a melodic twist with a grunge like sound. When I saw this video for the first time I was suprised to see the two boys fighting. Likewise this song is metaphorical and you take it how you want. It doesnt have just one meaning. It reminds me of parents loosing their kids because drugs. When I'm gone the weight falls on me.
Somehow I associate this song with being the sibling responsible for caring for my elderly parent's... at least they will receive the care they deserve. But hey, they weight falls on me right?
I don't know if I have the right interpretation of the lyrics but I think it's about intergenerational struggle; how the people who came before have left nothing for posterity but still expect you to carry hope for them, defying this expectation, and the demand to give back what they stole or withheld, which could be love, wealth, or social well-being.

So alright, i know that no one will read this, but let's begin; Top notch production and mixing. When i realize, that Zack and Sean are only two and they are producing their own music, with their own money - i just can't grasp this amazing fact. Cause all instruments sounds phenomenal. They don't have any bassist, at least in No Name/No Color era, but it seems like Zack is using some cool pedals, that are making those bass drops for his guitar. I am not sure, i mean when i am listening to songs i can recognize so much stuff, but with these guys, it is little bit difficult. Lol. That means, that i can learn something new from this band. Intense and really emotional screams and cleans from Zack. He has really awesome range and he does not have any problem to display his best, without any annoying computer helping. No autotune, no pitch effects, everything sounds raw as possible. Sean has also phenomenal voice across their whole records, but in this song, his drums are insane. He is punching his kit so hard. In earphones, you can feel that weight, sweating and dust from his kit. SOO GOD DAMN COOL!!! And i love the concept of this song and it's name. Basically, about an person that is within some kind of recycled loop of failures. Nothing is changing, but he will try anyway to push himself. At least, he will die for it. He will try to be a better man. Not everyone is trying. And for that name - that person does not have any space to see anything as an failure, cause he is busy to bein born, every day. I love middle class rut... The name Middle Class Rut is a very different and powerful kind of feeling, really captures the feeling of being trapped in routine. To me all their songs are about that as well, like New Low and Busy Bein Born are all about being trapped if you read into it carefully.
Kudos to these two guys...and their full-on rock sound and social-consciousness themes. I can't bear to watch this video again, tho....will listen to this song somewhere else.
