Very cool, thanks for revealing the secrets of James' Accidents. I'd love to do that someday, but I'd need to buy the programs first, which isn't an answer right now. One thing I'm curious about is how you did James' accident without damaging him--or is that one of the secrets you want to keep? If so, that's fine.
haha no problem Patrick - ahh yeah that's true - they do cost the earth! haha the answer is I don't know - it's kudos for the model, having not a scratch after all that abuse! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I cannot wait to see the next video that you do, I really hope it's a cooler version than James's Accident (which was really awesome), I hope it goes well. Keep on making more videos like James's Accident.
Brilliant work Sam. It's the little details you've added (like table shadows on the close up shots of James's face) that make this short film excellent and not just good.
Ooh, a behind the scenes video!! I absolutley love these types of videos!! I loved the video! And I've just noticed, you have merch now?! I'll have to buy some now!!
Thanks so much Tyson - really glad you like them! Yeah I do - thanks a lot mate, that'd be a lovely way to support the channel, if you wanted to! Enjoy! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
It’s nice that you spend so much time doing these kind of vids to make us happy, and I thank you alot for you dedication! This was actually really fun to watch though!
Now some off thouse senecs actually make sense!!!! Thx for reveling some off the secrets, ur vids really are awesome and u have inspired me to bulid my own model railway. Thx Sam u are the best!!!!!🚂
Sam´s Trains: Animates Faces like an expert Also Sam´s Trains: Blows out fire on carpet to create smoke And i didn´t even mention the Rocket loco (Salvador the Snail) with the model shed used to hold the rocket motor XD
Also you could have added James's tender at the back of those two flatbeds so that way it looks more accurate so you can actually see James's tender turning
I actually made a tiny ramp that sat on the inside of one rail - it threw him off when he reached the bend! You can just see it on the outer rail, if you pause it at the right time! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
You’re welcome. I’m glad you were able to make this video. I could be able to use these techniques in the future. Have you seen a video titled Mallard(3D)?
To think it takes that much time just for only a 8-10 minute video :0 But in the end, very well put together and very enjoyable :) Thanks for the video Sam :D
Hi Sam did you do anything to your Bachman Thomas And Friends Locomotives because I see you using your HM2000 controller and was wondering if they work as soon as they are on the tracks or did you put something in the Locos would really help if you reply 😁👍
Hey Lewis - no, these work perfectly on my HM2000 straight out of the packaging! You can add a drop of oil to the moving parts if they don't seem to be going too well! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi Sam, what happened to James' tender in the runaway scene during the crash. Is there a reason behind that. Many thanks for the good video, bring on more behind the scenes vids
Thanks a lot Austin! You can really use any video editing software to make what I make - there's nothing too specific with them! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Nice Video Sam I'll try some of these if I film any of my models (which I have just started and has an LMS suburban coach, Milk van and a brake van) Also I clicked on this faster than Mallard going over Stoke Bank at 126mph.
Great video Sam the effects and models look lovely. P.S what model would you recommend, I am starting my collection and wondering what would be best thanks in advance
Thanks a lot mate - really glad you liked these! If you're starting off, maybe a starter set loco is the best way to go - check out my latest video - those are pretty good and robust for starters!! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
How did you do the part where everything goes blurry before fading to black (after the crash)? Also, how did you do the bit where we see James waking up from his Point of View (also after the crash)?
Hey Harvie, those were just visual effects - you can do that using most video editing software! Otherwise, I just used the small action cams to film those! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
One the subject of smoke, I remember reading a very old model railway magazine from the early 1960s where they got the smoke effects for some of the photographs by using a long film exposure and having someone lying on the floor under the layout smoking a cigar! (Definitely NOT recommended for children!)
This is really well done Sam, I really enjoyed it, I was wondering if you had a favourite character, my fav is Henry, but you are entitled to your own opinions enjoy your day mate 👍🏻
Awesome video Sam!! I love all of your videos and I've been watching them ever since you literally began unboxing the Hornby Thomas locomotives. Just a question about your awesome James' Accident video. Who voiced Emily? Greetings from Australia!

james has no a front coupler so how did you get it to double head him with edward you can see a coupling in the first shot of edward and james
Hey Ian - I just glued a temporary coupling on, which did the trick! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
They can be screwed on and off, I have a Bachmann donald
i have a bachman carrige and the coupleings can be screwed of

Wow! The bts of James braking using drifting as well as the Hornby stunt double was clever!
haha thanks mate - I was quite pleased with that too!! :3
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
It’s great to see how this amazing Video was made Sam! Some of those techniques weren’t quite what I was expecting! Fun Behind the Scenes!
Thanks so much mate, really glad you liked this! haha yeah - some of them were quite unusual!! ;D

Great job on this behind the scenes video really enjoyed it and keep up with your amazing work thanks for sharing this Sam👍❤️🚂
Hey Sam, Great content again! Do you mind sharing what program you use to make these customs videos? Thanks for your consideration!
Also you could have added James's tender at the back of those two flatbeds so that way it looks more accurate so you can actually see James's tender turning
Love it! I would love to see more "Behind the Scenes" vids. Even when I watch movies I always have to look at the "Behind the Scenes" section LOL!
Thanks a lot Gerhard, yeah I could do more actually - I'll see what I can do! :D

This is the second time you upload this?
haha yeah! It went out a week early by mistake! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I kinda wanna know how you got him to crash. Did you make pull James off of the tracks with a string, or did he actually come off going over that bend
I actually made a tiny ramp that sat on the inside of one rail - it threw him off when he reached the bend! You can just see it on the outer rail, if you pause it at the right time! :D

Amazing video today Sam is there an app for the face effects
Thanks a lot James! Yes I think there's an app, but I prefer to make things manually!! :D

It’s just I make a lot of videos on my phone and when I get more Thomas engines am thinking about doing my own story’s

Hy@@SamsTrainsI has a quest
I think at 7:16 you should have let James just push the flatbed with a camera on it. But it was still a pretty decent film.
haha yeah that would have been good too! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
It’s cool to see you how to do this, this will probably help me with my Bachmann videos thank you!
Awesome!! Do try some of these yourself (apart from the fire one!!)

Very cleaver Sam 🙂 0:56 is the best
The funny thing is that James’ accident is almost like a behind the scenes video!
4:38 I think you can dcc fit James, there’s there’s a tutorial for it. I think you just search up how to dcc fit the bachmann Thomas range. :)
Yeah you can, I just didn't want to do that - this was faster and cheaper! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Great behind the scenes video Sam.
Thanks mate! :D
Hi Sam some really clever stuff there. It was interesting to see how some of the effects were done, well done mate. Dave.

i was wondering how you do the wheels part, my only other thought was that you had taken the motor out and pue a wedge in so that it wouldn't move
