    I found my to-be-wife trapped in a crashed car 25 years ago by a chance drive pass in my friends car, she was unconscious and bleeding badly. It was a battle to keep her breathing whilst an ambulance was called. After phoning the hospital later she was in intensive care diagnosed with brain injury and multiple injuries. She recovered despite mental impairment. 12 months later we met after she sent me a thank you letter for helping on that awful night. We went on to get married and have children.

      @@ConnieRiet thanks Connie. I knew the moment I met her she was gorgeous and so lovely and kind. Surgeons repaired her facial damage to me she is beautiful and I loved her. Her brain injury meant she couldn’t work anymore or drive a car but that didn’t matter so I was her carer and husband which I enjoyed every minute of it. 4 years ago her previously in remission cancer returned stage 4 terminal we threw everything at to fight it I so so wanted her to live. Sadly my wife passed away 18 months ago and I’m heartbroken 💔

    Yes, the battle is in the mind. And it's a daily battle. I have a back injury (from my life choices), and I can get so mad at myself if I continue to focus on the past. Be thankful to God for the things you have. Don't focus on what you DON"T have, but focus on what you DO have. (Romans 12:2) thanks

    Thank you so much for this video.I have been carrying tremendous anger, sadness, grief and bitterness in my body.It causes me to have severe anxiety that overwhelms me somatically. I have literally survived numerous things over the years.Life threatening illness, surgeries that have changed me and losing people and pets that I loved with all of my heart in rapid succession. Although I am happy about surviving, the emotions I have been left with as a result are making my life unbearable. I am going to try your method and see if it helps...

    • @ConnieRiet
      @ConnieRiet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hi, I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles over recent years. It helps to think of life not being here for my happiness, but rather to teach me compassion and enlightenment. Sometime life is a pretty tough teacher. Life will always be here, giving us a challenge to learn from. Something that helps me to surrender. I've always prided myself on "being strong" . Being a brain injury survivor, I found force didn't help me find peace. But surrendering allowed me to move forward. I hope that you can find moments of joy and peace, and that those moments string together into days, weeks and years.
      Sending you wishes of happiness, peace and health.

    Thank you for this video. Five years ago an illness which left me weak also gave me small brain seizures which took some of my memory. I have gotten some of them back, but I am not the same person. It took me years to move through the grief and mindfulness practice helps so much. I am still working through knowing myself and it is difficult some days, having tools and practicing them regularly, even on the “good” days does help.
    Thank you for this video. You articulated what I went through and still, at times, go through so well.

    Very good tips. I will give them a try. I need to change my thought process. I really have not been that happy the past several years. A lot of stress with health issues and loosing my mom Nov. 21, 2021 to Alztheimers. It has really taken a toll on me. My dad passed away in Aug. 2014. But I will give it my best shot! Thanks again. 😊

    Essentially what's being described is cognitive behavioral therapy which has been around for quite a while and is a very well-researched approach for a range of mental health and lifestyle issues. Seems important to give the developers a shout out.
