As these videos from the days when TH-cam was in its prime move farther and farther away, they become more and more remembered and cherished, as they resemble a better time. It's a shame there's not as much good content like this being made today, but those were different times...
Now users like DaWillstinator, Captain Punjab, and many others, have left or "moved on." While Will is still alive today, he is no longer active in the "Thomas" community, but for reasons completely understandable, which he explains in the latest video on his old channel. Meanwhile, Captain Punjab has deleted and/or privated most of his fantastic series, leaving only 3 episodes viewable. Now all that remains of the other episodes is in our memories, stored and locked inside, so they will not be forgotten. If only...
Anyways, after all that, this is one of my favorite videos on TH-cam. Literally. It basically sums up everything that was good about the old youtube, at least to me. I always get memories of me sitting at my old computer, at my old desk, in my old room, watching this, and loving every second of it. Man, it feels like that was forever ago. What a nostalgia rush. If only I could go back. If only...
I used to watch Turbo's videos endlessly as a kid. I was fascinated by the creativity. Even though I didn't get half of the more adult jokes. For instance, I only realized yesterday about the coke joke in TWT 2 xD (I'm 17 now by the way).
To be fair, I'd forgotten about him for a while. But out of nowhere, I remember he existed, so I've come back to watch his videos all over again. The ending to this video is enough to shed a tear. Although, he's not finished yet. His new channel with TF2 content is just as good as this one, and he seems quite active. His last video was only uploaded a month ago I think.
I will always remember Mr Turbo for his immense creativity and talent in all aspects. When it comes to stop-motion, he's my biggest inspiration. I even made myself a mini-stop motion replica of 'The Bee'. I have no idea where the data for that is now.... but that's how much I loved his videos.
Turbo, if you're seeing this, I salute you good sir!

TrackMFan Homer That leaves me with another question... There is someone named Edplus777 or something... He is a brony, and his accent and voice sounds waaay to close to MOAB's. MOAB has made another channel, and hadn't told anyone about it until a Q&A (If I recall.), so is This EdPlus guy actually MOAB / DaWillstanator?

I find that out of all my old videos, this is the one that stands strongest. It finally establishes the Desk Railway as a proper working steam railway, instead of a loop of Lego track, it focuses more on the characters than previous TTWT videos and includes some of my favourite scenes from any of my works.
The credits music is the theme for Cosgrove Hall's feature length version of Wind In the Willows.

Its odd how it all works. From my perspective anyway. The first Trouble with Trains, it starts with up beat music, giving the watcher a sense of anticipation from the enjoyment they expect to get from the video they're about to watch. Then afterwards, the epilouge with the soothing sort of montage-y music kicks in, followed by the joyful upbeat Thomas theme as the credits music, as if to say "The adventures only begun, stay tuned!". Then the next one, TTWT 2, starts with a quick upbeat theme again, giving the same message. Same montage-y music to start off the story and get the viewer prepared. They are fully caught up on whats happened for the last 3 months, and can now see what will happen afterwards. Then something different happens, TTWT 2 ends with a more sad theme over the credits (after of course the usual Repairs theme montage music for whats coming next time), as if to say "We're nearing the end of our tale, stay tuned for the finale". When I first found this series, there was no TTWT 3 yet, so the end music really saddened me, and made my need for a finale greater. Then, TTWT 3 came out. No montage music at the opening this time, but rather some story and then the true intro. The upbeat Oh Doctor Beeching music was perfect for this, as if to say "Here we go once more! One more time!" with the story. Skipping to the ending, theres the montage music again, once more explaining what happened recently. At the time, it seems like theres gonna be more to be told. Why else would there be exposition? But then, the music cuts out and, after being told that was the end of the story by TurboJ himself (?), the normal act of putting away the engines for the evening becomes this very emotional scene that practically displays it as the last time youll see those familar trains and faces, followed by the both sad and happy Wind in the Willows theme. It gives a very sad, but very content message. And I wish I knew why, but this silly little series has nearly made me cry at its ending. Yeah I know theres Desk Railway Chronicles, but this will always be the end of the TTWT series, and, being that it was essentially my childhood of the internet, it will always seem amazing.
Okay my mile long rant is over. I always just kinda thought those things and wanted to share it here.

Reading this all over again, I'm getting so many feels
This will always hold up. I remember many years ago, when I was like maybe 6 or 7, trying to watch as many lego videos as I could on TH-cam. I found this, and the story telling, voice direction, and even some of the cinimatography were so appealing and a tad charming to me. So much as that I even renacted the video with my own legos, and wanted to make my own adaptation of this video. Although that never came to be, its one of those things I can look back on and say..."Jesus Christ, this holds up so well"...I want Turbo to recreate this in some way. Maybe even a feature film. Who knows? If hes reading this, Im more than proud, and can say that at some times looking back on this video, I feel like crying for the memories it gave me as a child, and now as 17/18 year old in 2021. Maybe Ill hint this video in one of my movies one day...
Edit 2023: 2 years later and at least once a year i always come back to this around late spring. also as far as I know, Turbo has been very inactive online, though he is likely still around cuz he has retweeted some things in last year or 2. I hope he's alright and maybe one day returns to do a commentary on the 3rd video like he did with 1 and 2

I have little interest in spending my money on Lego wagons (which I have trouble designing). The Desk Railway is a preserved railway, although it's become so vital to the infrastructure of The Desk that it now resembles a mainline.

I got the 317 many years ago when Lego ran the My Own Train range of Lego Trains. They sold a small/large tender engine that could also be built as a tank engine.
Man I remember watching these as a kid and man I forgot how good they were! I wish more people saw these and subscribed. Great work! Your videos were my childhood.😊😁👍

Seriously, I loved every moment of this one. Sad that the trilogy has come to an end. Still, quit while you're ahead.
This series just has something about it, the vibe is so comfortable and despite the world being lego and cardboard it's actually pulled off quite well. I still come back to these videos every so often, not sure why. But I haven't been able to find anything quite like them. I hope one day TurboJUK shall return.

That ending was one of the saddest endings to a series, i consider it the 2nd saddest. Now i understand the series better and see it with new eyes

This shed is an official product. Using 2, you could make it into a long shed, or fold the 1 to have a double track. (Set 10027)
