Living with host family : 1 hour away from school, yet your 3 meals a day might be guaranteed.
Living in student homestay : it can be right next to the EF school but you need to prepare your own meals (buy and cooking)
Hey, i definitely agree with the pros of living with a host family! I did it for 3 years in Connecticut
Bueno la experiencia de mis sobrinas en casa de “familia”. cuando uno, ve las fotos en la pagina y ve una linda familia, con el estudiante cocinando y practicando el ingles, uno piensa oh genial excelente, pero la realidad es otra, una de ellas esta en Bournemouth la casa de una senora de edad, vive sola. primero la casa no muy limpia, segundo, no tienen derecho a tocar los utensilios de cocina, solo puede tomar de desayuno de una caja de kellogs vencidos y viejos, y una jarra de leche casi agua, tapa roja, eso lo unico a lo que tiene derecho, no ducha en la manana porque la senora se despierta, no usar secador porque se despierta, solo, la luz de la lampara en la habitacion, ducha apenas llegan de EF, cena lo que caiga, no hay acompanamiento, deben llegar un dia antes de entrar a la escuela salir temprano en la manana y de malas si no, entienden lo de los buses, mi sobrina es vegetariana, y pues lo primero que le dijo la senora es que ella iba a ser un problema, e.t.c.....
mis otra dos sobrinas se fueron para Bristol, exactamente lo mismo, no hay acompanamiento, no secador en la manana porque igual la senora es de edad y no le gusta que la despierten , no pueden tocar nada de la cocina, no pueden utilizar la nevera, el colmo que hace dos dias estabamos hablando, por Whastapp y la senora desde el segundo piso les envio un mensaje que no podian hablar, y misteriosamente la calefaccion de ese cuarto, fue apagada tuvieron que aguantar frio porque estamos en invierno, extrano verdad... en fin.... eso entre otras cosas .. siento que se pago por un tiquete a prision. Obviamente pues se esta haciendo lo posible por cambiarlas pero el punto es .. pagas tanto para recibir calidad y recibes es frustracion, salen bien temprano para desayunar en la escuela, y tiene. Que almorzar afuera entonces en fin.... hay les dejo la experiencia para que pregunten antes de comprar el paquete..
Al final se arregló el problema?
Las familias anfitrionas de Inglaterra son un TOTAL ASCO así vayas de intercambio con EF, con otra agencia, a una escuela de idiomas, a un año escolar ahí, internado o incluso a ser Au Pair siempre inglaterra las host family que te tocan son horribles

EF isn't paying the families, I'm going to do an exchange and they told me that they are not paying them, that was one of their arguments.
Well they pay them to fund your meals and accommodation

Sounds like you had a really bad experience, sorry to hear that. But, I do take issue with EF about something else and would love to talk to them about that

La verdad es que no se muy bn como he llegado a tu canal jajjaja pero tenia pensado irme 9 meses a París para estudiar francés con EF y me sale mucho más rentable irme con una Host family . Tu video me ha ayudado mucho para orientarme en cuanto a ello so thank u so much first because of that ,but tu personalmente me lo recomiendas ?
La experiencia de irte a estudiar afuera es espectacular y lo vas a sentir como el mejor momento de tu vida te alojes donde te alojes! eso es lo de menos

@@lunadiazlu So let's talk about my experience, I've mixed feelings about it.
But let's say it I didn't have a good host family experience. I've lived together with 3 families and all of them were not so good. But the first one was the worst of them. She had never cooked for me and her flat was just a messy council flat. The neighbor sold drugs, and the dog peed and pooped inside.
I changed my families 3 times but not even one of them was stratifying.

Layal Elmahmoud depends on the city you are going but a month is a minimum of about 3.500dollars
You speak about ‘bad host family’ let’s talk about bad students.
EF does not pay the host families
In the UK they do receive money which is supposed to be spent for the student needs but SOME families rather save it for themselves plus charge the student for things they shouldnt be charged for
You are correct in my experience. I hosted 7 times and they never paid us.

2 weeks in the minimum you can travel with EF. However, you can’t really expect to improve that much from staying such a short period of time
