Bali Motorbikes! Though licensed (and quite experienced) in USA, I was scared soon after renting a motorbike near Ubud. Lane-change mistakes in the first round-a-bout did it! Dropping the girlfriend off at a nearby cafe, I returned the motorbike to rental location, only 45 minutes after renting it (on daily rate). And the roads were FAR less crowded back then!

i've driven motorcycles much of my life. but narrow, hilly bali roads were scary. roads near the beach were fine. but trying to enter traffic on a main road took nerve. it works better if you have a newer, quick bike (150cc or more) to warp speed into the traffic flow.
You should get together with Christina and Ralph Clesca while you’re there. They live in Cengu now.
