@@bunsenbomber767 nah dude. I was reading a lot of game informer back in day. And reading a lot of the interviews a sequel was planned and EA basically laughed at Tim Schaeffer's face because the game sold poorly. Wish I sequel could happen but Tim and his team at double fine are probably making something else. I believe they're still working on psychonauts 2.
@@DrComedyToday Well Maybe, just maybe, Microsoft will give a Sequel a chance, they surely know people want one, Schaeffer want's one and it's been said that the First Party Studios do have some freedom in what they want to make.
If you're coming here from my year or later, I hope this helps you realize how fast time seems to be moving in the moment, but thinking back it already feels 20 years ago. In another 5 years it will be 20 years since the making of & the mass of us will still have many more years left. Let it be known we really do live for a long time, our time just FEELS short.
You know what's cool is that when we are young; everything is new, so our brain marks it. Not everything of course, but the big stuff definitely gets remembered. Everyday feels like an eternity. The older we get, the less "new" stuff happens, so our brain doesn't mark it. Thus, time seems to speed up. Which is cool because it would get exhausting looking forward to Christmas year after year instead of going, "It's Christmas already?" Being immortal is one thing; but being conscious of every single day would break your brain after awhile.
Such an amazing game from my childhood. I remember beating the game and then my dad wanted to play through it but he could never beat it. I guess he didn’t understand how to do the big army battles with the stages and shit
I miss the time when aaa video games has its own distinct and strong style and attitudes. Late 2000's-early 2010s is the last time aaa games have this imo: skate series, rockband series, brutal legend, modnation racing, wet, SSX, Max Payne 3, etc. Games today feels... I dunno, safe, generic, hollow.
well no they stopped doing that around this time they were the publisher and pretty much botched it and thats why their logo isn't their when you boot the game up
I got mixed feelings about the game, the action hack and slash is fun and the story and the constant Metal of it all, but the RTS and the RTS-bosses really blows ass and sinks the game, to me its absolutely worth one play through, but that's just it, one play through, after you've done that you don't want to play it again, and i've been keeping my copy on the shelf since its release. Still, this menu, is one of the best ever made and the first hour of the game is spectacular and only that is worth it.
Agreed the rts was a pain in the ass especially in hard. It felt poorly done. The other areas of the game were amazing and loved the atmosphere. True gem
So weird that this started as an action game and then switched gears to be a 3rd person Real Time Strategy game. What's weirder is that Guilty Gear 2: Overture did the exact same thing 2 years prior.
I think it started development as an RTS, but they added in the action sections for story stuff and the weighting of those two parts shifted before it ended up being the strange hybrid the final product had. I enjoyed it a lot back in the day!

Quite probably the best intro and best main menu ever made.
jack black is a legend
Yep, it's what pulled me into the game. Didn't think it would be this good.
No this is just a tribute
@@legoarts97 He sure is.

The way DOUBLE FIIIIIIIIIIINE is screamed at the beginning is absolutely branded into my soul.
It’s such a shame there’s no sequel, this game had a lot of love and was ambitious for its time.
There planning to make one later it's been confirmed no dates yet since it's an idea nothing made yet

Oh there's a sequel. Its just nobody can play it cuz they keep it way in the back with really rare stuff.
Did anyone else get super excited to see jack black?
One of the most underrated games of all time
This game felt like a movie that you can control and I loved it
I came here to say ive been looking for this on vinyl for so incredibly long and i finally secured a copy.
