Walked into my rural NC post office only to hear staff PRAISING AND GLOWING about what 47 is trying to do. My mouth fell open and my stomach literally sank to my feet.Same at Tractor Supply on a stop to pick up bird food. I’m also 74 and feel crushed, broken-hearted, betrayed & empathatically sense that so much worse is ahead of us. Sorry, friends - I don’t have anyone else to open my heart to. I work with someone who thinks like the people you encountered on your errands. She is totally closed off to reality and ONLY believes whatever is espoused by the cult leader or those who support/repeat the lies and hatred. You are not alone in NC.

Same in central Florida. However, there are little pockets of areas where (prior to election) made national news that are waking up to the GOP abuse. It's a start. I started volunteering last yr with my county Democratic office. Only a few hrs on Saturday but every little bit helps. Call amd email your REPUBLICAN representatives let them know this is NOT ok. Flood their phonelines! As I write this, the democrat senators have been speaking on the floor over 24 hrs straight!!! Each senator has a time slot. Filling in each and every hour! I've watched off and on throughout the night and have been very impressed. Confirms they're aware and fighting but unfortunately with no control over the three houses and SCOTUS it's a difficult battle. But we can't give up!!! Stand strong!!! 💙✊️🇺🇲🗽💪

I am Elderly and unable to march, but it gives me hope to see people protesting. But I think it’s also a warning about the state of the country.
If these Republicans were brave and intelligent enough they would have joined the people protesting and space X the owner of SpaceX to Mars.

I wrote a letter yesterday to my Governor. I am an angry 67 year old Grandmother who feels ashamed to be an American for the first time in my life. I need double knee surgery, or I would participate in a March. North Carolinian here. I participated in a protest on the 5th and will go to EVERY protest around me and beyond. I'm calling my representatives in congress also. I'M PISSED!!! FIGHT BACK AMERICA!!! I was delighted to see how many showed up to this last minute impromptu protest!! It looked to be around 500+ which I thought was pretty good being last minute. I believe people showing up is going to grow and grow

I was a computer programmer way back in my working days. In a Wired article about the Treasury break in I read, it mentioned that the code musk's kids were changing was written in COBOL. I learned COBOL in 1987 and COBOL and an ancient language then. It isn't as easy to read as modern computer languages are so it can sometimes be hard to figure out what the code it doing. I really, really, hope whoever is in charge of Treasury's computer systems did a through backup of the entire program and all of our data. If they are any good there are backup somewhere safe and ready to be loaded back on the main computers once this nightmare is over.

@@marywilliamson853 I'm positive that if they got enough notice they smuggled their back ups out of the Treasury building to somewhere safe. Either that or they are hidden in the building. I used to work on a government computer system and we had to do backups every week. So there are backups but the question is hold old are they and have the cretins gotten to them.

I did one elective computer subject at university in the 1980s (Cobol) and remember none of it! Is it true that it is still used for ATMs and some banking? Seems suspicious that these young guys learned Cobol when most computer people don't learn it now and only older (probably retired) computer people would know it well. I smell a rat.

I read that what causes eyes appear to go black is when someone’s anger because so strong and so intense, their pupils dilate so much that their eyes seem to go black (they really don’t, it’s just very large pupils). However, this typically happens more often with narcissists, especially when they get into a narcissistic rage. And I believe Elon is a narcissist and he was exhibiting symptoms as a child.

I marched in Oregon today. Lots of focus on Leon. Many cars went by honking and waving in support. We had a big turnout. Broad interest among different age groups. Another rally coming up Saturday specifically regarding immigration.

OH, My Mojo is back. I am on a city council and last evening I was direct and insistent on facing a bully on a Planning Committee. A change has occurred in me. My social skills are still there, but I am not being solicitous for any type of "get along" behavior. After 7 years I am up for re-election and running again. If I am not voted in, I will take my energy and experience elsewhere and it will be to support the Dems.

Hi Maryann. I’m half way through your book. I wish I would have had a book like this years ago when I married my husband who was a cancer survivor from brain cancer and radiation. It would have helped me understand that it truly is life changing. He never felt well and I shouldered the burden of all the chores, but he managed to have a career in the postal service working in the heat in Florida……how he did it I’ll never know. For sure cancer affects the cancer fighter and the partner/carer. A heart felt thank you Maryann. Blessings and love to you.

His admiration of dictators around the world should have sent warning bells ringing loudly. Closed door meetings with Russian were not followed up on. Just a few things he did first term. He was talking then about president for life.
During Biden years, Republicans still did his bidding and he held no elected office. Those Politicians accomplished nothing in four years except bogus investigations wasting time and tax payers money. Most of them were in office for decades and still are. Why are they not being voted out and strong alternatives put forward to run against them? Why are term limits and age limits not in place.

People sat home and didn't vote so 72 million people got to decide for over 300 million people how your country would be governed.
