    This just feels like yet another endorsement to play 40k casually and narritively. Tournaments are great and all, but I definitely do not want to live in a world where battles are just primarchs fighting each other between L shaped ruins until the heat death of the univserse.

      The problem with casual games to casual players is the amount of gotchas and rules updates that if you play once or twice a month you can't ever keep up with it and you're severely outmatched

There's almost no 'casual' players remaining where I live, leaving only the tournament players for this exact reason, too many updates, rules changes, overall unbalanced to the game right now for keeping 'low' investment player interesstred

      @@owensmith2995 not sure how you figure that when they get double or more the attacks per model and wounds per point than necron infantry and better ap but ok..... and reanimation on average will get your unit back 7 wounds if the unit survives to even be able to reanimate in all 5 of the necron player's command phase; provided the necrons player goes second. If the necron player goes first, they literally lose out on one of the five command phase reanimations making their max reanimation potential even less.

      It's a vehicle detachment. Blame GW for not balancing necron infantry to be even close to as good as other shooty armies infantry.

    Starshatter was not as powerfull as i feared. Was carefull about triggering the reactive move and did not put anything essential on 8bjective that could get shot off next turn. Won 95-45. Starshatter is good, but that OP. I feel the biggest crowd of "i dont like tournaments"-crowd are people who just cant be asked to think during there games, but want rushing in without thought to be a legitimate and effective strategy.

      Well, give it times. I stopped playing a while ago 10th edition but it has all the reasons to be broken balanced wise.
      All i know is that even before, Destroyers where pretty strong, now, it"s far worse.

    Every faction is getting Move thru Walls, No Overwatch, and Advance and Charge. Too many factions already have hit on 2s, re-rolling. wounding on 2s, re-rolling, with mass AP and their own 4++.

    So they got easy access to :
    +1 to hit on objectif + Assaullt army wise
    Reroll 1 to hit and wound on multiple units for potentially all game
    1 CP for +1 wound roll on objectif
    One unit with constant ignore cover
    So, you're dead if you are visible on objectif, got it.
    Defensively this two are Nasty together :
    -1 Damage on one unit of their choice each turn
    1 CP for -1 to wound roll
    Mobility wise :
    Lokhust and Vehicule list so, Mobility should be okay in general
    When shot, can 1 CP for +6" of free move, potentially limiting the number of unit able to shoot your Lokhust each turn to one by breaking Line of Sight
    Can auto 6" advance if necessary, and remember, Assault for all vehicule and Mounted list wise, so you can still shoot.
    Seems balanced

      @@buttemountain It's like on one hand I don't think it's going to be as crazy as people make it out to be. Our vehicles that matter like the DDA and TSK are huge and will have trouble moving around the map even with the move through walls and added movement stratagems. Plus it's amazing how much less tanky our stuff is at generally 1-2 less toughness and 3+ saves instead of the competition at higher saves and toughness. Death by a thousand cuts is FAR more effective on our vehicles compared to guard and Space Marines.
      However... This detachment certainly looks nasty to deal with in lethality. I know that they don't benefit from most of the stratagems but I'm foaming at the mouth ready to use the Seraptek or Solo Warriors to get that +1 to hit.

    I played against it last weekend with my Grey Knights. It was an absolute massacre.
    All he had to do is let me run out to the objectives to extend my Hallowed Ground, then shoot me off of them with Doomsday Arks, a Doomstalker, The Silent King with a Spider and Reanimator stacking Auras.
    If I see that combo again, I might forfeit immediately. lol

      Comparing this to the Eldar vehicle detachment is such a joke. The detachment rule is just the worst half of the necrons one and it somehow has LESS mobility.
      Necrons are already tanky, with great invulns, reanimation, and decent toughness, yet their vehicle detachment also has reactive moves and move through walls, while Eldar, whose main strength is mobility have none of that. They also have worse damage dealing with that detachment because they lose rerolls, necrons do literally everything better when using these grotmas detachments.

      @@kierans8620 in defense to Necron vehicles, our vehicles are actually much less tanky than a lot of other major players like Guard or Space Marines.
      Like yes we have a 4++ invuln so we take hits from the extremely high damage stuff like our own Gauss Destructors or Tau Railguns alot better, but aside from the monolith and TSK we have 3+ saves across the board and generally 1-2 less toughness than their equivalents. Leman Russ Battle Tanks have a 2+ save and are T11. Our Doomsday Arks are T9 and with a 3+ save.
      Which doesn't sound like a huge deal but we get wounded by Meltas on 4's, Heavy Bolters on 5's, and because of our lower save we don't handle waves of lethals or wound rerolls via thousand cuts very well even in cover.
      Which isn't to say we are like paper in the wind or something but I've seen many of my stuff get clapped by Lasgun Arrays and Bolter Aggressors when they had no right killing anything tougher.

    My only gripe with Mordian's qualm is that Awakened Dynasty does this better for Lokhusts. In AD youre always getting the +1 to hit and its easier to trigger. So this is actually nothing new, the only difference is that now you can get the +1 to hit without a character, which you wont do because you want to crit on 5+.
    Lokhusts have always been scary!

    the doomsday arks can suck it. d6 ap-4 flat damage 4 st 14 shots for 190 points. now with auto advance 6, 10 move and assault? once it gets there dev wounds too. Get stuffed.

    At first, I just assumed that the Necrons were going to keep paying for the sins of the Hypercrypt Legion, and its teleportation stuff, but now, even that is just gone. Lost 3" DS? Don't worry about it. In this build, you don't NEED to get your units where it matters, because your opponent will have to do it for you, by moving onto the objectives, to try and win, and then you'll pop them...but then there's still the model selection, and some tricks, that'll getvyour units exactly where you need them.😊 I just wanted fun movement shenanigans, but now that's gone, in place of "moving" enemy units to the spent space, as you gun them down.
    So, personally, I think that the objective focus might be a bit worse than this video made it sound, as I can imagine many enemy units never going near one, and just doing secondaries, or moving to fight, but then I don't actively play, so maybe my vision is skewed, and I'm obviously aware of how important earning points is. Yeah, this detachment is going to hit hard.

    The core rule foe 11th will be everything can move through ruins. That way if you make a building you have to go around. The L shape will be null

    I am a necron player and I have played Starshatter 4 times and I have lost 3 times. Granted the best version of the list ain’t out yet and necron players are still debating on lists, but this list does have weaknesses. Melee armies are real scary and tear us apart. I have lost to Khornes demon, the new custodes detachment, and index demons. Doomsday arks are great when they work, you can roll low for shots. Their strength drops a lot when the player puts the big damage dealer not on an objective. Gun lines like guard which was my one win was very easy. Necron is very vulnerable to anti-fly.

    > if anything for not IG (or Emprah forbids, nerfs to IG) then terrible terrible disaster and game is destroyed
    Like others already commented, ranges are limiting factor for viability of combos. And +1 vs units on objectives doesn't magically win the game. Sure, if opponent is brain dead and let's new Necron sit in star-formation and pew-pew at obj, then it gets very strong.. but then it isn't detachment problem, but opponent problem.

    Rerolling 1's on models that have literally half the amount of attacks as other armies who also get access to FULL rerolls on the majority of their army is no where near as good and definitely not worthy of you bombastically blowing reroll 1's out of proportion.

      Also only 2 sources of reroll 1's; the king and the enhancement, both are 6" aura range so again wont effect the whole army.

      Its rerolling 1s + add 1 to hit, so basically hitting on 2s rerolling 1s. At that point why roll the dice, everything just hits anyway xD

      @@MordianGlory the +1 to hit is only against targets on an objective, not every enemy unit on the field. It's a nice detachment dont get me wrong but it is just a vehicle detachment and as nice as gaining assault is, you still cant advance and do secondaries so it's just for position and line of fire which hypercrypt (rip) could already do.
      Most necrons hit on 3's or 4's before modifiers, only 2 detachments give +1's to hit. So enemy modifiers still hurt the hit rolls since the king isnt as blessed as mortarion to have ignores modifier aura plus another useful aura. His second aura is +1 leadership... for units that have 6+ LD already.

    the D6 is to limiting with a limited stats line between 2-6 at least older editions had a larger range for stats ... so they hace to add 200 rerolls for everything

    How is the overlord with a 5" move going to stay within 6" of six different units that all have a move characteristic of 8", especially with the destroyers with assault weapons advancing to get into optimal firing lanes, or covering objectives????       I might be mistaken, but wouldn't having the Overlord playing towards an objective just pretty much guarantee that you control that point, considering you could have lesser points value be guaranteeing hits?
      So, he'd be able to provide that bonus because if you're taking or defending an objective, you'll usually have a higher concentration of units there anyways. Looking at a tournament map, it makes sense that it would be able to do that.

      You could focus on one objective, but with those units your not going to hold it for too long; neither skorpek or destroyers have a ton of defensive staying power, neither does an overlord, for that matter... Also all of those models, 3 units of skorpeks and 3 units of lokhust destroyers could even fit within 6" inches of an overlord.
      Yes, it is a strong enhancement, but the example he gave to illustrate it's brokenness made no sense at all.

      Overlord alongside silent king can cover half the board across the width of it with a reroll 1s aura. Advance the overlord to do his best to keep him in range of the destroyers. Not perfect but rather achievable. The potency of the firepower available can mean you're in no rush to get up the board anyway

    Awakened dynasty is +1 100% of the time while starshatter only gets it vs targets on objectives. Awakened has the better reanimation strats also.
    Starshatter is nice but it is 100% not better than awakened.

    This is more of a question then a critique, Can't monkeyman target multiple models?
    Are the re-rolls the only reason to take monkeyman? the only reason to take the overlord is for his Aura at 115pts?
    Is your intent Having him hide the turns away, maybe do a secondary, and frog leap up the field following his units that need him.
    So minus 115 off Monkeyman, is he still useful without the reroll? If you would still rush him up the field then it may not be as bad as all that.
    Ok the real question, the one that dictates if i continue watching,
    Is this just mock outrage for views? This is the first time i have had one of your vids show up on my feed and as i glanced over your library i noticed most if the titles are doomy.
    If you are genuinely concerned about the health of the game as a whole, than i think i will watch more and see what i agree with, but if this is just clickbait than you wont need to answer.

    If any body couldn't see how cooked the detachment system was going to be they are a fool! And it's going to get worse! We just choose an agreed amount of faction stratagems and stay well away from detachments, they bring unbalance to an already unbalanced game!
