Due to people running out of yarn before they get Part one finished I want to put the gauge here so you can adjust your hooks size as you will end up running out of yarn, if you do not adjust your gauge. First 4 rnds should measure 4 1/4 x 9 inches. You may have to drop your hook size, or buy more yarn.
I had just ordered 4 cakes of this color from joann's sale and now knowing I am going to need 4 more hopefuly I can still get them. I am waiting for my cakes which will be shipped 2 at a time starting Monday and the other 2 on Wednesday. Apparently this color is being sold out everywhere. Purple is my favorite color to begin with. I am definitely going to make this when I am done with one of my already sitting around WIPs is finished. I have 4 of the yellow as well maybe 2 blankets are going to be made (depending on how long it takes to make the first). So, so, so, beautiful.
My three kiddos were looking over my shoulder while I was watching this and the part two video, oh and while looking at the kit on lion brands website and now they each want one in their favorite colors of that yarn. Lol!
This is the first time I’ve seen a tutorial and I’m absolutely fascinated ! I do like the yarn swatches with Cody also! Pleased and looking forward to try this pattern from Montana USA ! Thank you very much
Purple! My favorite color! Love this. Need gradient yarn now, I will be making this for myself! ❤❤ I have made many afghans for my family. Time for me! ❤❤. Thank you so much! ❤❤
This is absolutely beautiful not only because my favorite color is purple but it looks like it has a great texture. The amount of different colors in the gradient is also a plus in my book. I have never attempted a rectangle only because I struggle up one side down the other but this yarn seems very forgiving so this will be my first rectangle. Can't wait to go shopping Monday to pick up yarn just upset my store only ever has 3 out at a time but good thing this is in parts so it'll work out. Thank you for the great tutorial looking forward to making this.
I have a question every time I repeat the 4 and 5 at the beginning of 4 do I always slip stitch into next stitch. I'm thinking yes so it puts it in line with rest but not sure so better to ask if I always slip into next on row 4.
Good morning, Glenda. That blanket is made with one of my favorite colors. I like all shades of purple and pink. I can't wait to make this. I have 4 skeins and I have to get 3 more.
❤ thank you for this video!! I want to start a blanket like this but I'm new to crocheting.. I want to make it like this so i can make it as big as i want!!
Hi Glenda. I love how the purple rain blanket turned out. I followed along w/ the tutorial w/ scrap yarn to practice until I have some Mandala gradient yarn. ❤️
You're such a gentle spirit with teaching. I love watching all the tutorials that you work so hard on to share with us. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent. ❤
Perfect timing! I bought the mandala gradient yarn in burgundy and also teal. I did a star blanket with the burgundy and decided I didn’t want to do that pattern again. I’ve been looking for a pattern for the teal and this looks like the winner
Hi Glenda. Beautyful colors and special blanket. I'm gone make it, but sadly cannot get the yarn you used. It's to expensive to send it to Belgium. 😢 I hope I can find something simular, but it won't be easy. ❤
I want to know what the teal will look like. My nephew is getting married in April and their house colors are teal. I was looking at that yarn to use. I thinking about using your ripple pattern video you have for the blanket.
I have this same yarn in black that my grandson wants a blanket made of. Can this be made to be bigger? He is already 6’3 and still growing. I need it to cover the top of a queen bed.
I’m new at working rectangle granny square. Actually I don’t care for granny squares until I saw your videos on rectangle continuous granny square blankets. Question: is it important to always “chain 2” at the corners or can you chain 1 for a smaller “hole” look? Thank you so much!
Beautiful 🤩 I have 6 cakes of purple from Lion brand's black Friday sale (or clearance 🤔)& some purple plain for a border if that's what the 7th cake is needed for 😊. Love this blanket. Thank you
Hi, Glenda. I always enjoy your tutorials, and this Purple Rain blanket is beautiful. But it seemed like your lighting was low. I had to zoom in to see a clearer view.😊
I am watching it on TV .Hi. Cody I have one question and could you please answer it on live on Tuesday I watch it on TV I can see it better but I don't know how to hit the like button or subscribe on TV. I am subscribed on my phone hope you could help thank you Hi Glenda this question is for you I am visioally impaired you said we most ude the back bump well I can't see the back bump to well is so what I do is on the starting chain first side only in all loops the way until the other side then I go through both loops and it all worked. I saw this on another crochet Channel a okay for your pattern? I thought I would let you know so you could share with others thank you Glenda for all you do can you both are very helpful until next time happy crocheting
The reason I go in the back bump which is the center strand on the wrong side of chain is because it helps reinforce the first rnd as when you work on the bottom of the chain you go into both lps which is better then one lp. Hope that makes sense
How many chains should i make if i want my afghan 48x72? Im not good at figuring this out.😅 I want it to fit a twin bed, hanging over the sides an bottom 5 inches
@@jeanmaggiore3150 For this design I am not sure due to all the different stitch patterns I used. I am not sure if all the stitch patterns will work if you change the starting chain. Thank you so much. I love your stitch of the week and easy to follow tutorials. So far ive made 4 Vintage Christmas afghans and gave 3 for gifts. I love mine and the recipients love theirs. I also have a notebook of your stitches. Do you have a pattern for a wreath motif that i can stitch together for an afghan. Lov 2 u an adorbs cody

So sorry for your loss
@@CreativeGrandma thank you. It has been awhile, but I still think of them when I see purple.

The purple is beautiful.
Good morning Glenda. Love the blanket thank you . And I love your top/ dress? It's beautiful

Ohhhh. I think I'm gonna have to do this one for sure
I think this is my favorite blanket. But, it’s got some new scary stitches for me. It’s so pretty though. The yarn is gorgeous.
Take it one step at a time go slow and you can do it.

I have this same yarn in black that my grandson wants a blanket made of. Can this be made to be bigger? He is already 6’3 and still growing. I need it to cover the top of a queen bed.
You can make it bigger by by continuing to work around the blanket in your favorite stitch pattern until you get it to the size you want.
@ Thank you
Definitely on my to make list
Just started mine

Fir this design I am not sure if the corner will put together to tight, you can try it but I would recommend the chain 2
Beautiful, purple is my favorite color, yikes! 7 skeins, have to think on that, kinda expensive

Hi Glenda..beautiful..how can I make this into Queens size?
You would have to work another stitch pattern you like and keep working in the round until you get it to the size you wish
@CreativeGrandma thank you
What is the amount of yardage of one cake?!😊
295 yards
❤❤❤
I am also a yarn hoarder, but with a purpose. I gift the yarn to elderly who can't afford it.
