She knows how hard for females in outdoor variety shows, and she knows her position well in rm. So instead of stealing spotlight, she becomes a good host to take care of the female guests especially when she was the only female host previously.
I forgot where when she mentioned before about it that she feels like a host should take good care of the female guests. Therr was a very old episode when all the guys in rm really feel females are really picky and troublesome in games and feel sjh was really cool. Though they might show it just for show effect but somehow they might be honest about it. Previously the show involved alot of outdoor activities that could be messy, the hosts and guests all need to be fast and not fussy about the mess and dirts. It's obvious how jihyo always picked jisukjin and let the female guests to pick other rm members before soomin and sechan joined
yet there are still toxic people who wants her to leave RM because they said she is always quiet and "doesn't" work hard.. She just doesn't want to steal spotlight from guest

If you haven't noticed, Somin has almost become one of the backbone of the show, and all the mischiefs of the other members won't be even showcased without her. Unfortunately, Jihyo's role as the Ace is not as needed as before since the new Running Man PD changed most of the game concepts to accomodate the ageing members.
