- This is the first episode of my work in progress report on the new zvezda Boeing 757 in el al colors.
In Part 1 i am explaining how to prep the surface, how to fill cabin windows with clear resin and how to install the outflow valve.
Equipment used in this episode:
- Mr.Hobby PS770 airbrush
- Revell Omega (Pressure regulator modded)
- MRP airbrush colors
- HP-textiles resin
- Abteilung502 liquid mask
- tamiya masking tape
- tamiya cotton swabs
- olfa cutting knife

I do this exact thing with one difference… I use Solaris for the PAX windows. Same for windows in my starship builds.
what is solaris? never heard of
Oops. Didn’t realize I allowed auto text to miss spelled it… a year later! :-/
It’s called Solares.
It is a UV curing resin originally designed to manufacture and fix surfboards. They sell in several viscosities. I use the thicker Doming Resin to make position lights and lenses. It sands and polishes like a dream when you want to form it back to something like a wings contours. I use their thinner products to make windows in starships and airliners, as well as clear glass lenses on instrument panels and display screens in modern fighter jet subjects.
Apply it and allow it to self level. You have all the time in the world to work it. When you’re satisfied, zap it with a Solares UV light - Use their UV light. It’s tuned to the UV frequency of the products.
You would have been done in minuets instead of waiting for it to cure for two days. ;-)

Wow!! great technique for the windows! i´m just building a 1/144 B747-400 from Revell and it doesn´t have any clear windows, only the holes. I would´ve love to have known this!! now it´s too late as i have already glued the fuselage. Anyways, i´ll use this for sure next time!
And also i´m glad to see some quality airliner modelling because 99% of the content is military stuff, which is also pretty awesome, don´t get me wrong, but civil aviation is my thing. Thanks for all the tips AMP144!!

Hello, nice build. The windows resin won't stick to the window s frames if you just don't use liquid mask and just paint the white outside? Thanks for the video
yes, they will, but i used the masking liquid to avoid paint dissolvation by the resin

What grit is that sanding sponge block you use? Thanks
the sponge says 220 but i am sure it is something like 500 or even 800, cause it is quite used and old.
a sincere suggestion for you. I use UV light to cure the resin within 20 seconds. And you may try applying a PET sheet tightly to fuselage. That is what I am doing
Time is not a factor in any of my builds, so i will stick to the resin method.

Great work, interesting way of making clear windows. The yellow tape looks like Kepton Tap I used for 3D Printing. Keep up the good work!
das mit den fenstern mach ich immer so, eigene technik endafür entwickelt, ist der einzige weg um klare fenster realistisch darzustellen.
the tape is electric tape, the stuff you use on curcuit boards etc. its sticky surface must be super glossy...
