As I get older, I’m pretty positive that Albert Collins was/is the best blues player I’ve heard. I love the usual suspects like BB and Albert King, Otis Rush, Freddie King, SRV, Clapton, but Albert is the man, for my ears.
I started crying as I watched this because I could've been one of those young mooks going wild in that crowd. And all this shit --- the low ceiling funky blues club, the raucous, joyful vibe, the real-deal communication...it's all just gone! But at least I was there!
The Iceman!!!! I was lucky enough to get to see Albert in the 80's ,probably '85-'86,in a fairly small club in Boulder, Colorado. Got the chance to talk with him for a few minutes; class act, indeed! Great guy;sorely missed.
I haven't heard or seen live blues like this one in particular, I'm 71 now, Lord only knows what ever happened to the rest of these great bunch a guys. I am blown away.
dang... I swear, there ain't nothin' better... turn it up loud. ...no, I said "LOUD!" Last time I saw A.C. and the I.B. was a drizzly night, Rockefeller's, Houston, the band all out on Washington Ave., jamming right on the sidewalk. Best live show I ever saw, ever will see :)
What a beautiful intimate little Club to see true greatness like that is amazing Albert Collins didn't sound like anybody but Albert Collins one of my biggest influences thanks Mr Collins
Agreed; this is Legends before they put all the artwork etc in. At Legends old location at 8th&Wabash. I mean, it looks the same, Junior Wells is there, and all the photos behind at the beginning of the clip are Junior and Buddy. @@Onthevergeclocks

Albert was a master in his own right. He always had the best support musicians / band. He was very unique in his style.
Agreed! The older I get, the more I like Albert. He was the real deal!
I feel the same, as time goes on I think more and more that he was the best. He checked all the boxes,

Since I first learned of Albert Collins, I liked his unique way of playing and always liked his sense of humor. Still do.

The best guitarist/performer I ever saw.
His attack, voice, tuning, humbucker on a Strat, volume. Definitely in my top 10.

not drunk... just one or two glasses... hahahaha ;-)
Fil, of "Wings Of Pegasus" sent me here.
Why cant bands sound like this now?????
I am trying!
Because I haven't got to that playing level just quite yet
1) It takes a lot of work, dedication, and scuffling every night to get there 2) autotune is easier and cheaper
I ain't drunk I'm jest drinkin'
Does anybody know who is the keyboard player? He is AWSEOME
2 cool 4 skool.

I hate that I was too young to ever see Led Zeppelin. Now, add Mr Collins to that.
Go see Mr Bieber while you still can. Life is too short for regrets.
