      Have you checked uGears? They make a lot of Laser Cut wooden models for people to build without using glue.

    What are the two glues types brands you have what type of CA and what Kicker? Links?

    • @kokoronotomoni
      @kokoronotomoni 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CA is Cyanoacrylate very common superglue for example "loctite super glue" just dont get the one that says gel on it. Kicker is just accelerant that makes the glue set even faster. If you are looking for kicker check that it is for CA/cyanoacrylate "ZIP kicker".

    1/6th scale. I hadn't really thought through the implications of this at first, but then it struck me. This bike is *tiny* XD

    • @barneymiller7894
      @barneymiller7894 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I second your sarcasim, i mean its good to seperate the parts (atleast for the builder) But i think we in the maker community should be trying to get away from plastic packaging and use biodegradable materials to pack garage kits and anything else we plan to distribute. And if you get a kit with ziplock bags reuse them, dont throw them away!

    I want to get hold of a cheap-ish laser cutter which will handle paper/card (70-200gsm) up to A4 size but I'm having trouble formulating my searches: can anybody with better Google-fu than mine suggest where to start looking?
    Yes, I tried eBay but either the results are so badly tagged as to be meaningless (an "electric chisel" tagged as a "laser cutter",, seriously?) or the prices are ridiculous: I don't want to spend a 4-digit sum, I'm a hobby-geek not a small business ;-)

    • @lordwalrus183
      @lordwalrus183 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Take a look at vinyl cutters. They are a much cheaper alternative to laser cutters that work best on thin material. I think they mentioned them on still untitled recently. Should work for your use case and are dirt cheap.

    • @budball36
      @budball36 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      look up laser engraving and cutting group on FB lots of good info for beginners on there. Also k40 laser engraver is good search but blue white chinese laser is where most start

    I don't know how i feel about the price.. Motocompo kit cost 70 dollars, for the money I can buy 2 Aoshima kits, couple spray cans and have some change left. I really like the design, wish could be a bit more wallet friendly..

    • @xyling
      @xyling 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Understood, but it's someone making this from scratch in his apartment in Los Angeles in limited numbers. Aoshima is a giant company building thousands of kits and distributing worldwide, amortizing production costs via mass production. It's not feasible to be cheaper when it's a one man operation, and considering that, it's a bargain.

    • @barneymiller7894
      @barneymiller7894 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The motocompo was inspired by that era of American minibikes. Honda realized something of that size and displacement would be a great consumer vehicle for extremely crowded cities like tokyo, so they basically just built a version with folding handlebars and full suspension. Motocompos are super fun because they have everything to be street legal in the US!
